I made your teriyaki tofu and miso soup and served them with black rice and green beans and carrots. My kids and my husband were so happy - especially my 5-year-old who asked me to make this every day! My husband said the miso soup was one of the best he’s ever had. Thank you for the recipes and all your wonderful videos.

Hello Miwa san, I discovered your channel 2 days ago and I already watched sooo much videos and tried some of your recipes!
They are all very tasty and delicous. And most important, they are healthy. ^^
I am 19 now and I have been cooking for around 7 years. I started cooking because when I came home from school there was no food, my parents were away working and here is the countryside, so here is also no supermarket.
So I had no choice but learn it.
I learned cooking a lot from a channel called "Cooking with the Dog" and also "Maangchi". So I grew up in a way, with a lot of Japanese and Korean cuisine, instead of the food of the country I live in.
I really love that you develop new recipes with Japanese ingredients, its so much fun to discover that there are a lot of ways that I can enjoy miso that I have never heard of before♡
Thank you, your channel is so great and I am looking forward to your cookbook! Yay~☆

    • @MiwasJapaneseCooking
      @MiwasJapaneseCooking  3 года назад +3

First of all, you are great!!! It's not easy to cook for yourself especially when you are that young. I can easily imagine, after coming back from school, you are tired. you could easily grab some bag of chips and your supper is done. You decided to take different way to be healthy. That's is admirable.
I'm sure your parents are so proud of you.
Thank you for sharing your story and kind word!

This is exactly what I wanted. I've been dying to try to eat more traditional Japanese meals, but I'm vegan, and I was unsure what to substitute where it still felt like a traditional breakfast. I love wakame too :)
Also, freezing tofu?? Wow, I never would've thought that would be good! I can't wait to try it with the extra firm tofu I have!! Thank you so much!!

So happy for you that you can make a cookbook!
The tofu looks delicious. I'm making that soon, though I cannot really get really firm tofu here. My daughter loves tofu and any sweet sauce like teriyaki or yakitori so she'll love this. She really enjoyed your broccoli and bean soup (I added shiro dashi for extra flavourful broth). I just make her tofu sesame muffins with Japanese pancake mix for breakfast this morning. She is always so happy with tofu on the menu.

@@MiwasJapaneseCooking Thank you for sharing your recipes and experiences as a mom as well :)
Black pepper is a great idea as well. I was thinking either shichimi or green onions .
The tofu muffins are so simple, just mix 200 gram japanese pancakemix with 150 gram tofu. It will become a sticky dough. make 6 portions and flatten like an English muffin and coat with sesame seeds. add some oil to a pan and fry each side for around 6 minutes on low/medium low with a lid on the pan. It's best warm but you can reheat them in the micrawave

@@MiwasJapaneseCooking Thanks for the tip! I really enjoy channels and recipe books like yours, chopstick chronicles, and just one cookbook. I'm 1/4 Japanese but growing up I didn't learn a lot of recipes that my (Japanese) grandmother used to make. I got her to teach me some basics like tempura, okonomiyaki, cold somen with mentsuyu, and a few others, plus the recipes my mom knows like onigiri and norimaki, but for the rest I depend on videos and recipes like this to recreate my grandmother's cooking and to discover more of a big part of my culture. So thank you for your hard work and insight :) ありがとうございます!!

The miso and vegetable soup looks wonderful, as does the teriyaki tofu! I am super excited that you’ll be making a cookbook, I’ll be sure to buy it! One thing I’ve found is that traditional Swedish food and Japanese food seems a little similar in that both focus on simple, pure ingredients and not too many strong spices unlike, say, Indian food where there’s always lots of different spices. Oh my goodness the food looks so good sadly where I live in America we don’t have much good food plus the food here is fattening and unhealthy most of the times. I really wish I could move to Japan and try the food there and experience the culture! I’ve always admired Japan and it’s people. I will definitely try to make this dish some day! Anyways wishing the best!
