glock has such a low iq design philosophy. god forbid they make the magazine out of steel like s&w which improves its function and makes removal extremely easy. imagine using a vice to remove a floor plate. glock perfection my behind

thanks. a C-clamp beats vice grips or pliers. The magazine "insert" needs to be pushed toward the top of magazine; hopefully *past the two contact points of your C-clamp on the magazine body. A smaller C-clamp would result in smaller contact points on the mag body, allowing the "insert" to be pushed up and out of the way of any compression.

No need for any clamping . All you need is a push pin with some leverage super easy

  • @MikeSchmidt

I've found using a long screwdriver to push the magazine insert down far enough gives me leverage to use the screwdriver to free the floor plate. No clamps needed.

People, do NOT put your polymer magazines into a c clamp. There are plenty of ways to safely remove the base plate. Just because someone is on RUclips does not mean they know the best way to do something. This is not a recommended method by professionals.

  • @wd.jayy223

i know this was 7 years ago but it’s called a baseplate first off and you can just pinch the bottom of the mag with your fingers to get the slits out of the holes on the sides and maybe try buying an 11 dollar glock baseplate removal tool?
