@@mattjohn4731 Only Marky visited Joey while he was in hospital. Tommy Ramone called Joey often, but Dee Dee, CJ, Ritchie, and Johnny never visited or called Joey. With the exception of Ritchie, The rest knew Joey was in hospital, and not well, but didn't bother to call or check with Joey's family to see how he was doing. Marky pleaded with Johnny to visit Joey, telling him that time was running out, but Johnny told him that Joey was not his friend. Joey's brother Mickey detailed this information in his book.

@@AgusVilla1. Joey and Marky were the closest of all the members in the band. No matter how much they argued, they always made up. Marky was always Joey's first choice as drummer for his side gigs and parties, and when he finally got to work on his solo album, it was Marky he wanted as drummer. Heartbreaking that Joey never got to see the album released. 💔
@@AgusVilla1. Interestingly, Marky has claimed in several interviews that he and Joey staged this fight on Howard Stern. I'm skeptical, since Joey spills the beans in it about Marky's wig, and I can't imagine Joey doing that if this fight was fake, but who knows? Only the two of them know for sure, and Joey's not here to tell us, so I guess we'll have to take Marky's word for it. It's hilarious regardless!

Because Howard is the OG troll and he knew if that was arranged, it would've made history since anyone with a brain could tell that Marky's hair was fake all along. Look at any of the pictures over his career with them, it's a wig. You could even tell in the things Joey was saying to goad the whole situation. He knew it was the truth and it would be the ultimate burn to win the back-and-forth insults. It's a family-style argument, only your family knows the things to say that would hurt you the most, and they're usually true.

Please dont call the Ramones a boy band 😂😂 I get what youre saying, but boy bands are manufactured and contrived. This band formed organically on the streets and helped change rock and roll.

Joey is pretty loose with the bald/wig gags when the reality is, he'd have a total meltdown and a constant grudge over anything anyone said about his appearance. You can tell Marky is being reserved in this spat, knowing how bad Joey's ocd is and not wanting to actually hurt him. Johnny would have torn Joey's looks apart like an animal had it been him arguing.
Best comment. You are spot on with the Marky thing. I've heard from people that are close to him that he's actually an extremely nice dude, and yeah, he could've really messed up Joey here big time if he wanted to.

By the time this interview happened Marky was well aware Joey was losing his battle with cancer. Marky is a real jerk here.
They didn't want to reveal anything about that. So they were bikering as they always did.
I'd say Johnny was the jerk as he never called, visited, nothing when Joey was dying as they (famously) didn't get along, though I guess I can respect it as he stayed true to his feelings!. Johnny said that if he were dying, he wouldn't want people he wasn't close to or didn't get along with coming around just because he was sick and then he died of cancer and then Tommy as well!.. Kinda strange that 3 original members of the band died from 3 different types of cancer and Dee Dee from drugs!.. It's just Marky and Richie left!....

Was this whole "feud" staged for publicity? When Joey's solo album came out a few years later, Marc played on it and was billed as "special guest star." Since Joey would have been too sick to record by 2000-2001, they were likely recording together around this time.
