pls do me a favor and let me know what video topics i should put in the ol' content calendar! i'm thinking my next one will be about how my views have changed toward the plastic-free movement 👀 does that sound interesting??
some people are super grossed out by my thrifted cork jars 😅 but it's like hellooo you can boil them! and ah i love that for you!! aren't we so lucky to have a few unique and priceless things made with love 🧡
@@allisonfromearth I have all sorts of jars and I'm getting more I usually only buy spices and glass we don't have a bulk food store near us. And yes I feel super blessed to have pieces made with love and you are super blessed..p.s. I love watching your videos
This was a" right place, right time" find for me! I've been experiencing some eco-burnout and thoughts like "am I actually even doing anything " and while I have so many places I can improve, I feel a bit more motivated to experience the journey after watching your videos. Thank you for that! Subscribed and ready to make some changes slowly throughout this year.
oh thank you megan! we were so pleased pretty much everything from our old apartment fit, despite this new one being much smaller! i'll never regret spending hours on that sketchup model making sure there was a place for everything 😂
Wow, I found you today and loved your video! I would love to hear how you make laundry detergent. Also a huge shout out to your dad! OMG, just love the furniture pieces he has made, you are so lucky. My Dad has passed but I still remember working with him putting in lights ( he was an electrician) at our house and he helped me sort out our garage with storage racks etc. Such special memories ❤️ I would also like to hear about your dried herbs and maybe a meal per video as part of it could be fun too. Sending big hugs from England 💐
ahh those do sound like special memories 🥰 thanks for sharing that with me, warmest hugs to you! it'd be so cool to do a video dedicated to the few DIY recipes i still use all the time and swear by, as well as my meal prep formula! thanks so much for the good ideas 💡
that is such a great idea! definitely adding that to the list of YT ideas, thank you! it'd probably be pretty novice stuff since i'm no expert, but how fun all the same 😍
I binged your videos while baking last night and want to say --- I love your content & wish you lived closer to me so that we could be friends! merry christmas & keep doing you!
Hello from France 😁 God I LOVE your apartment !! 😍I want to live a more sustainable life, I started to stop eating meat and fishes (and eat most of the time vegan now - been doing that for... one week 😅 there's a start to everything !), I also want to buy mostly second hand, and waste less. You deserve so much more subscribers, I love your energy and aura. I know you're going to be a huge inspiration for me and I thank you for that. You're going to help me so so so SO MUCH through my process of a more sustainable life 🤍 This is the first video I watch, yet I'm already in love with your channel and personnality
Hello from France 😁 I LOVE your apartment 😍Just discovered your channel, and I know for sure that someday, you're going to have lot of susbcribers. I want to live a more sustainable life, and I know you're going to be a huge inspiration for me and help me so much through the process. I love your energy and aura, this is the first video I watch of your channel and I can't wait to watch the other ones 🤍
this was really creatively put together ! I've been following you on insta and i also remember that you had cfs, I do too and i understand about giving yourself some environmental slack !
aw!! hearing that makes me giddy because what held me back from starting a channel for so long was thinking i'd be absolute trash at editing 😆 now it's one of my favorite things to learn and experiment with! thanks so much for the encouragement 😚
I also hate how companies that use the chemophobic or clean marketing. But, I use plenty of things from them. I think many people hold these small companies to almost unattainable standards. I think part of that is because small companies tend to be more transparent about what they’re doing than large corps, which gives us more to criticize. We don’t have to agree 100% with everything a brand or owners stand for to still appreciate what they’re doing. We can of course still have our hard lines, though.
why thank you!! you'd be surprised how many times my message has been discounted because there's evidence of my past shopping habits in my apartment 😅 but even now i'll shop there occasionally for essentials and things i know i'll use forever!
of course! the pouches are super lightweight compared to other materials which makes them less polluting to ship, plus they're meant to be sent back for cleaning + reuse.
there are a couple things you can do with it! you can mix it in with garden soil a few weeks prior to planting so it can turn into compost and nourish your growies, or you can throw it in the trash -- while not absolutely ideal, it has only 10% of the impact of throwing away traditional food scraps (transportation to landfill, space within the landfill, methane emissions from decomposition, etc.). currently, i mix it into a bare swath of soil in my apartment complex so little critters and microbes living there can quickly turn it into compost. but in the future i'll definitely be adding it to my garden!
Ok, I have to put this out there, sorry - even if we get rid of perfectly good, usable stuff because it's not 'eco' enough, then that piece is still out there. Why is it considered ok to replace it? Why is it ok for someone else to use it? Surely using what you already have, if it's still fit for purpose is the was to go? I am very, very envious that you have skilled and talented family members who are able to make you stunning pieces of furniture.
I think plastic is an amazing material (in terms of what it can do) and there are so many great uses for it, but I swear all the eco influencers will eat their words about things like plastic bags being more eco-friendly than paper bags. Because they're only focusing on CO2 and how much energy it takes to produce, but they don't factor in long-term effects after disposal. Studies about environmental microplastic are still at the very beginning, but I bet one day people will shake their heads about how everyone just looked at CO2 emissions for so long.
pls do me a favor and let me know what video topics i should put in the ol' content calendar! i'm thinking my next one will be about how my views have changed toward the plastic-free movement 👀 does that sound interesting??
I’d definitely watch your video about sustainable personal care, and a laundry one as well. Also, I’d love to see more content about your hobbies.

You don't have to explain anything, nothing wrong with Ikea. Nice video ❤

Im genuinely confused about how refilling a metal container with plastic is more eco conscious (re: your shampoo) could you please explain?
of course! the pouches are super lightweight compared to other materials which makes them less polluting to ship, plus they're meant to be sent back for cleaning + reuse.
What do you do with the stuff in your kitchen by-product processor (I cant remember what they're supposed to be called) after it is dried?
there are a couple things you can do with it! you can mix it in with garden soil a few weeks prior to planting so it can turn into compost and nourish your growies, or you can throw it in the trash -- while not absolutely ideal, it has only 10% of the impact of throwing away traditional food scraps (transportation to landfill, space within the landfill, methane emissions from decomposition, etc.). currently, i mix it into a bare swath of soil in my apartment complex so little critters and microbes living there can quickly turn it into compost. but in the future i'll definitely be adding it to my garden!
