I've had all 3 brands over the years (Acura CL type S, Infiniti FX 45 and Lexus es350/rx330) and they never really gave me any major issues...I'd pick Infiniti for design style and power.
Good decisions man. I play with the ambition to buy an Infinity Q50 hybrid with 364 hp , it seems to be solid and reliable . Sad that Lexus do not offer such a powerful engine in the IS model with V6 and hybrid system.
thank you to the owners of Infiniti to share the truth. I've had 4 Infinitis and 2 Nissan's... worst mistake was loving the look of the 2013 Nissan Maxima ... I sold it and went back to Infiniti. Please see my other comments and give me some likes my brothers 👍
@@plainpawesome and you get more resale value with the lexus, and depending on the model, a less out-of-date vehicle(Infiniti has some old ass models lol) .
Is350’s are faster than g35’s, g37’s and q50 3.7 . And faster than 350z and 370z m. And a infiniti red sport is slower than a is350 supercharged or a is350 turbo.
Got a 2012 M37 Infiniti back in 2015. As of today, 165k+ miles and still running like a champ! Only minor fixtures to keep up with, but I have I high hopes this car will give me another 100k miles easily. My vote is for Infiniti‼️
I own a 2017 q50 3.0 . I purchased it brand new and and the only problem I have had was the a/c with split temperature problem and the run flat tires were garbage . I just change the oil every 5k and rotate tires with standard tires with no problems . It’s been a good car for me and still drive it .
Infiniti had a renaissance in 2007 with the introduction of the updated G37. All the "experts" were putting it at the head of it's class, and it really was. They definitely gave you the most bang for your buck back then, and the interior was on par with it's competitors at the time. Add that with the upcoming coupe version, the larger M series, and the futuristic FX crossovers, and Infiniti looked like a potent competitor to Lexus and the German rivals. But sadly, Infiniti never built upon their resurgence and they let their interiors become outdated and stale. A real shame, but it seems that Genesis has picked up where Infiniti had left off. They just need their own stand alone dealerships to distance themselves from their Hyundai counterparts.
Infiniti cars are built off of GTR DNA so as far as I recall, up until 2018, nothing on the road was faster in ICE configuration. The only car at that time which could give it a run was a Tesla... Infiniti stayed fresh until electric began to take over... they didn't have to change cuz for those who knew they were reliable and exceptional.
@@plainpawesome I actually traded in my Genesis GV70 for a 2018 Lexus LC500, I enjoyed the hell out of it for 10 months and just traded it in yesterday for the brand new 2023 Infiniti QX60. I absolutely love the QX60, perfect size, tech, and interior design for me. It's the only model in Infiniti's lineup that I would even entertain looking at and owning. They ditched the CVT and Im a big fan of naturally aspirated engines.
Owned several Infiniti cars in the past G35, G37 and a Q50 red sport currently and the wife has aQX60. Never had a wrench on any of these vehicles except for tires brakes and maybe 2 batteries in 12 plus years. Now I absolutely positively cannot stand the CVT transmission in the wife’s QX60.. but from my understanding All cvt transmissions are terrible. The new QX 60 for 2022 will be a game changer..
@@_mathtutor3334 yeah I've known that's of people with multiple Nissans and Infiniti's and they've barely had any problems with them besides normal wear and tear.
Nissan/Infiniti problems started when they merged with mediocre Renault, and started interchanging parts. Here is South Africa Infiniti played suicide by pushing their diesel tech and was a fatal straw as they are discontinued here. Lexus, although not so popular, they still roam our streets. Have a scarce GS450H F-SPORT (a true performance hybrid to date) and not a single problem. Great vid, as Always
I can’t do Lexus, tried but no. I love Infiniti. I’ve owned three Infiniti products and I haven’t had any problems. Funny thing is my family members who own newer Lexus products have lots of problems with their cars.
When I bought my car about a year ago, it was between an Infiniti Q50 and a Lexus GS350. I got the Lexus since I really liked the luxury features, and Q50s never had cooled/ventilated seats, even though the 3.7 (2014-2015) was faster. I work at an Infiniti dealership as a service tech so I know the common problems, too. The earlier models usually suffer from valve body problems (sometimes shown as a speed sensor code). And over time interior pieces, mainly the chrome window switches and sometimes the fake leather in the base models, like to wear. Dual screen and tech is far worse than Lexus (though they're catching up nowadays). Screens aren't very responsive and fun to use at times. It's probably weird for an Infiniti tech to be driving a Lexus, but I drive Infinitis all day and wanted something different and slightly more reliable for my commute.
Well said. I am on my 3rd GS and last. I was able to get one of the few the GS f sport Blacklines. After 35 years with cadillacs and lemons .the last 9 years have been trouble free beautiful cars
@@ricardomunguia1 Haven't really noticed any common problems on the QX70s. Well maybe I've seen QX70s have swollen lug nuts more often than other models. Though it's one of the more reliable Infinitis from what I've seen.
Lol - but you probably don't work on enough Lexus vehicles to know all the problems with Lexus! I just bought a Lexus RX and it's the worse vehicle I've ever owned! Knock sensors were bad so it didn't shift into overdrive - cost me $2k to fix! And 2 days later after getting it back from the shop, the problem still persists! So back at the shop AGAIN! I know another Lexus owner - same problem. Hers was such a headache that she gave up on fixing it so she just drives it around town and avoids the highway. It's very common with their V6 engines - do some research. They are poorly designed vehicles. Never buying Lexus or Toyota again! On the other hand I have an Infiniti G37 as my fun car. Over 250k miles on it and no problems, and I'm rough with it and do lots of drifting. Infiniti is way better than Lexus!
For me a car or suv (non-CVT) has to be an Infiniti and truck has to be a Nissan Titan. I own QX56 G37Xs FX45. 05,08 and 2019 Titans, all great running vehicles. Infiniti FX45 is the most reliable and fun to drive, handles better than most of the sports cars out there. It was way ahead of it’s time, nobody believes it was released in 2003.
I had M37 for 4 years, it was already 7 years old, but it looked new, drove fantastic and surprisingly ahead of thier time technology wise. I recently bought 2019 Rx350 and had I not been in need of an SUV, I would go back and buy M37 again. I loved the engine, interior was very classy (liked better than rx350), had all the technology I ever need and always loved looking the side profile back in driver side mirror. I was looking for FX50S but couldn't find anything closer to my location (if you have, take care and hold onto these).
I envy the fact that you had a 280Z. They were relatively inexpensive, a blast to drive, and as you said very reliable. Unfortunately, Nissan reliability has waned over the years. Infinities are very nice cars, but a Lexus can run into the next century if you take of it properly.
Yes and to be honest. Alot of American car are now more reliable than Japanese cars. I'm now saving up for a 2012 Cadillac CTS-V. It comes with 560hp and 550 torque. I'd say it's on the level of a GT-R. But only half less than half the price.
@@ECPPI would like to see 280z go against Maxima and too bad Nissan is overcharging for the new Z tho I feel like the current generation z might be the last z built due to manufacturer greed
I got a 2009 Infiniti G37X last summer current mileage is at 111k. Only problem I’ve had so far was a coolant leak but it’s still a good car to drive and definitely one of the most reliable Nissans from that year bc the transmission is a 7 speed automatic instead of the CVT. I mostly only like the sports and performance cars from Nissan. I don’t mind the trucks made by them
I think that Infiniti and Lexus were both excellent for the first 10 years they were made. Lexus is still excellent but Infiniti has gone downhill with all the ownership changes at Nissan-which is a real shame.
Your uninformed. Have you looked inside a Infiniti compared to Lexus in the last 10 years? Lexus is the one going downhill! The interior parts of most the Lexus and Toyotas are cheap, and the Infiniti and Nissan interiors are higher quality when comparing in the same class.
Nissan's V6s feel alive. Toyata's engines feel like "just getting by". They usually feel lackluster/bland. The Lexus & Infiniti brands are definitely a step up in luxury. Just keep away from the Nissan/Infiniti CVT if you want reliability. The problem is there are too many of these cars on the road (along with Acuras & Hondas), and that gets boring. It's the same thing in Europe when you see mostly BMWs, Mercedes, Audis and Porsches. It's nice to look at them, of course, but it quickly get old to see a sea of them... and these brands use to have more prestige to them, but they've become common cars out there which means little anymore. Even in the ghettos here in the States they're driving around in Cadillacs and Mercedes, etc., so basically any schmuck can get his hands on one. That's one of the reasons why my wife drives a Genesis G80 (1st-gen.) since it's a great all-around car. It's a little luxurious (but not so grandioso in a flashy way); very reliable so far with nearly 100k on it; it has a 311hp NA V6 with AWD; and the best part is that there aren't too many of them on the road which is nice. Between the mundane and the conspicuous out there, it fits right in as a more subtle luxury brand... although the new models now seem more avant-garde in styling and appear more Aston Martin-ish. Any way, for a CPO from the last 3 years, I think they're one of the best bangs for the buck.
Lexus & Toyota here in England are always top of the reliability table with one of the best customer satisfaction results along with Honda in most cases . Nissan & Infinity (there are not many Infinity cars on our roads here ) lag behind on reliability some problems due to the Jatco CVT Issues - seems Nissan has taken a drop since merging with Renault same applies to Mitsubishi also part of the same group. Well made Video- Thanks 👍
@@plainpawesome 2013 JX35 (renamed to QX60, basically a fancy Nissan Pathfinder), 2014-2021 QX60 (2022+ got an automatic transmission), 2019+ QX50 (started in 2008 as a RWD-based hatchback sedan with a 3.5L V6 and automatic transmission, not a CVT yet, known as the EX35. Renamed to the EX37 a few years later and got the 3.7L V6, then renamed to the QX50 in 2014. Lasted until 2017, then they killed it and turned it into a FWD-based crossover with the VC-Turbo 2.0L I4 with a CVT in 2019) So basically just the QX50 and QX60 of specific model years.
You are clearly quoting things you’ve heard. Because jatco is owned by Nissan, it stands for Japanese Automatic Transmission Company. They make transmission for a large majority of Japanese cars, BUT THEY ONLY MAKE ONE CVT FOR INFINITI. The overwhelming majority of Infiniti vehicles do not have a CVT transmission, and they do not have transmission problems. You’re not being honest my friend!
Test drove a Lexus NX, and it was nice, but it felt soulless. I love the feel of my Infiniti. I am not a person who buys a luxury car so I can drive it for 20 years, so the way it drives is more important than hoping to keep it for decades.
This is the best comment regarding the two brands. I also would like to add that Nissans VQ engines are insanely reliable and easily 300,000 mile vehicles. Have had two go well over 200,000. I also have owned a Lexus RX. Was wildly unreliable. Constant oil leaks, burned coolant like crazy, random evap codes. Horrible knock sensor glitch that wouldn’t let overdrive kick in. Also just a terrible engine layout always in these cars with the drive belt pressed up towards the wheel and the intake manifold covering the entire back half of the engine bay. Horrible layout for maintenance.
@@mikefoehr235 I’ve had three or four Infinitis-all reliable and rarely in the shop. Had Nissans that were the same way. I know people complain about CVT and such, but I’ve not had any problems.
People have to realize that aside from great engineering and quality control Toyota/Lexus will rarely ( if ever ) stress the engine. 100 hp per liter is the stress point in an engine, Toyota always designs their engines at 70 to 80 hp per litre of displacement. Always under stressed.
Any car will last if you take care of it, drive it with respect and not a idiot speeding every chance u get. Definitely looking to pick up a q50 next year, hopefully.
The ZF nine speed automatic transmission has been kind of a hit and miss too. Some owners never complained about theirs, some have had nothing but issues. Honda and Chrysler owners especially. At least it's better than the CVT.
I have a Lexus RX330. 19 years old and looks awesome and is 100% reliable…my son has a 2017 Infinity Q60 REDSPORT. Bought it used 3 years ago with 40,000 on it. First problem last week was the throttle position sensor. Covered under the CPO warranty, no cost. It has 80,000 on it. That car is a rocket ship!
Not to mention the 2016 and up models have have beefier transmissions the the clutch is 3 times the size of the previous year models so they can handle 7 -800 horsepower with virtually no problems Reason why is because on the 3.0 t's with just a tune you could make 450 horsepower But I will recommend upgrading intercoolers and oil coolers or yes you will seize up the engine If you want reliability I will recommend a 3.7 Q50 where they can get 250 to 300000 miles with virtually no major repairs they are very reliable engines
Oh yeah lol that's cool to know bro and yes more alot more and way ahead in engineering and alot more reliable than your average domestic performance cars lol.
I have a 15gs fsport only 32k miles had it since new in September 2015, it’s never had any issues which lead me to get a 21 IS Fsport performance. I can not recommend Lexus enough!
Lol, I just bought a Lexus and so far it's the least reliable car I've ever had! It's spent more time in the shop than I have driving it! I had to dump $2000 into fixing it. And now 2 days later after getting it back from the shop, the problems still persist, so now back in the shop again! It's the biggest headache that I've ever had with a vehicle and an endless money pit. On the other hand, I have an Infiniti G37 and its the best car I've ever owned - 250k miles on it and no problems.

Both will last long when taken care well but I'd take Infiniti I don't know why but Lexus and Toyota feels like a robot like it's just a car and nothing more like it just doesn't have a personality and character.

Thank you very much for the thoughtful comment and right about the fuzz and how they put everything at every corner. You only know what is roomered by people spreading roomers. You see all the people commenting that have owned both makes? Lexus has more problems, and are more expensive to repair. Look up Toyota rust problems, look up Toyota engine problems, Toyota engine sludge problems, Toyota engine oil burning problems. No one tells you they hide it, because they will look like they’ve lied, because they all said Toyota was bulletproof, but Nissan has been just as good and better in some models.
IMHO the LFA automatically makes Lexus the most sporting experience with pizzazz of all time ever! Kidding aside, it's good to hear Infiniti is possibly beginning to address the CVT problems they've been having in going with a ZF transmission. Hopefully Nissan will follow suit.
Appreciate you doing this comparison. I just bought a Lexus IS 300 after having Nissan Altimas for awhile. I would've gotten the Infiniti Q50 but the CVT transmission and turbo engine didn't make me feel comfortable. Shout out to my fellow Canadian for this informative channel. Keep up the good work
Currently have a Lexus RX350 and Infiniti Q60, its my third Infiniti. All 4 vehicles have been very reliable, Infiniti wins the styling game easily , they also have more power and better handling. Lexus has the smoothest, quietest ride. Id rate the internal material quality on all three of my Infinitis as better than Lexus, that's not to say Lexus is poor, their materials and quality are excellent, but Infiniti is better. In terms of maintenance and repairs all are excellent but my 3 Infinits have cost less cash to be kept them on the road. As a long time owner of both brands Id always lean towards Infiniti first
Excellent, ive never owned a cvt and would never buy one, infinits non cvt trannies are great, id rate the transmissions in my q50 and q60 as the best ive driven, downshifts are crisp in sport mode and it always has you in the right gear to accelerate out of a corner. @@ECPP

This is an easy one Toyota and Lexus which are the same company are in a league of their own. It’s been a while since Nissan has been able to be trusted so forget Infinity. Nissan hasn’t been the same since Renault got involved. Nissan’s transmissions have been crap since Renault started making their transmissions

I have had an IS350 2007 and I currently own an IS350c 2011. The issue I had which was major was transmission issues. In my IS350 2007 I never changed my transmission fluid, and it failed. My current is350c I just got a transmission flush and it runs great. No engine issues whatsoever. Cad Converters failed on my 2007, but they are still good on my 2011 is350c. I love my car it is quick and nice.
@@Romeingtv Mine was at roughly 188k miles when it failed. I was told that in this model it is advised to get flushed every 30k miles. Since it is a sealed system you should get it done by a Lexus certified professional. I did it recently just in case. I had never got one and did not want to go through same trouble.
@stolenelection You should do some more extensive research. I have seen mixed feelings. What makes sense to me is that things fail after a certain point. Do you ever change your oil regularly? Why do you? Oil get dirty. You should chage oils and fluids. The Lexus has a closed sealed system and some weird positioning when inserting fluid. Most of the time a mechanic will only do a 20% change. However I have heard that it is recommended a lot despite having a lifetime transmission fluid rating. Plus mine crapped out at around 188k so you may be good.
Really should have done a Acura vs Infiniti… Side note: yes the is250 is by far the most pointless v6 EVER…! They should have made the is250 a 4Bangger GDI that actually gave you good fuel efficiency (& maybe as a coupe option)
Whenever you see a car with a small V6 2.5L- 2.8L it's in there for smoothness but not power. They could have made it a 4 banger but it would not have been as smooth as the V6
2013 G37xS owner here. As far as repairs, with the exception of owner's errors and dealers screw up, I have zero out of pocket repairs. This thing is solid. I also like the material used on the lower part of the door and the center tunnel. It is one of those soft plastic (mold injected). I prefer that over the hard plastic Lexus uses. Yes, it is not as prestigious as a Lexus, but it is good enough for this guy;)
Lexus is statistically the most reliable car manufacturer. I owned a 2008 G37 and 2004 G35. I never experienced any of the problems from this video. The G37 was new and it did not have one problem. Infiniti's switch to turbocharged engines will lower long term reliability. No car manufacturer will outperform Toyota/Lexus in reliability statistics.
Infiniti was a favorite brand of mine and made really good cars in the late 90's through early 2010's. However, as Lexus/Toyota have made consistent quality, Nissan/Infiniti has fallen off a cliff. I hope the 2022 QX60 is an insight of good things to come from infiniti. The ZF 9 speed is thankfully replacing the CVT.
if you own a QX60 you have a rebadged Pathfinder... pretty much every other Infiniti has a non CVT... you don't really know what you're saying ... falling off a cliff is your credibility
@@plainpawesome I don't, and we already know it's a badge engineered CUV. 2nd I've owned G35's and worked on them, so I know exactly what I'm taking about. My point is Nissan's build quality and reliability, in particular with the Infiniti name plate had slipped over the years, and building the rebadged Pathfinder with a 9 SPD instead of a CVT was a step moving back in the right direction. Next time read AND comprehend.
From someone who has owned several Lexus vehicles, the Infiniti Q 50 is a pretty decent car. It has great power and has some fun factor. The infotainment is annoying but honestly if you put that aside, it’s hard to hate on the infinity. It’s definitely worth looking at it Used 3 to 4 years.
@LiNeverLack the dual.screen setup and overly fragmented menus with awkward setting in unintuitive places cna drive a sane person up the wall... Otherwise nothing majorly wrong with it.
I got a 2015 infinity Q50 2.0t and im really happy with it. Fuel economy is v good. Full tank gives around 700km Engine power is good n feel responsive for a 2 liter angine. Low maintenance cost Luxury vehicle.
I have owned 4 lux brands BMW 550i Lexus is350 Infiniti Q60s Acura ILX the ones who gave me less problems were Lexus and Infiniti, Acura was ok, the BMW WAS A NIGHTMARE TO OWN!
The obvious answer to the title without even watching the video is Lexus for reliability but if you want an aggressive-looking and performing car you would go with Infiniti. The Infiniti cars from personal experience the motor is extremely reliable but everything else around it eventually breaks (Mostly eletronics inside the car).
This guy has not worked at a toyota dealership. I have seen/ felt less issues with Nissan CVT’s. Ive have had friends with lexus ls400, and ls430’s and with bad egr’s, valve body’s, and even after fixing it; the car wouldnt even drive correctly. I would drive customers new tacoma’s at a the toyota dealership all the time. Tacomas with as little at 5k miles with check engine lights, rough shifting TCA transmission, and averaging 8 mpg. Im sorry but nothing about toyota’s these days are reliable or efficient. If you are talking about reliability, talk about how much more stout nissan engines are with high tension compression rings. Talk about how nissan turbo engines do not have issues with head gasket lift like toyota engines. What about the oiling issue on the 3MZ-FEengine? That engine is in siennas, rx300’s, damn near their whole older gen line up. What about toyota’s unintended acceleration? What about toyota’s issue with seized slide pins because their caliper boots failed. What about toyota’s issue with oil starvation on the gr86? What about melting dashboards in the camry’s and avalons. What about electrical issues in their almost every prius ive driven? Nissan is known for mechanical issues with maintenance parts like timing chain tensioners, PCV valves, brake boosters, alternators, etc. However, Nissan by far makes a better engine by far. Also this jackass doesnt understand half the crap toyota’s have now a days that make them unreliable; direct injection, ACIS, low tension piston rings, hybrid systems, the sheer number of ecu’s you have in any given toyota in today’s generation is around 20-30 complex computers all communicating which each other. If you get kids who are harsh on your interior expect circuit failures because there is so much wiring in most toyota’s that spilling water in your back seat can cause unwanted resistance in a can bus network. Then ur paying the dealership to pull ur whole interior to find green crusties in a wiring hardness that shouldnt be tucked under wet carpet. And its funny how people bash nissan’s for their sentra’s and altima’s for the CVT transmission but toyota has just as many issues with their TCA trans alone.
I have had all 3 brans in the past Lexus, Acura and Infiniti and I gotta say Infiniti is my favorite luxury Japanese brand by far but it is underrated.
Currently owning Q60 and it's a trully japanese lowrider. RWD, very good quality of the interior, only thing which is missing from my perspective are ventilated seats.
I bought a 2017 q70s with 30000 miles on it in the UK last year for 12500 pounds about 17000 dollars. Audi, Merc,BMW and Lexus with same spec was 5500pounds more about 7200 dollars. Only issue is infiniti are no longer sold in the UK , so if it's in an accident will be a long wait for new parts. Also very rare in UK so something a bit different
I own two Infinity vehicles, a Q50 and QX60. I totally disagree with your reviews. I love my cars they're so reliable, and I haven't experienced any issues other than regular routine maintenance . I've had them for 3 years and would have no issues with upgrading if Infinity upgrades the model.
I have a 2016 Q50 now and had a 2006 IS350 before. The Q50 is far superior to the IS350, at 18,000 miles I had to replace brake pads and rotors in the IS350 and every maintenance visit in the dealership was $1,000+. All the parts of the IS350 were as cheap as I have ever seen. The Q50 maintenance is less than half of that and the parts are visibly better quality. There is no doubt in my mind that Infiniti is far more reliable than Lexus.
A hundred bucks more a yr on average to run an Infiniti vs a Lexus? If that level of penny pinching is what determines which brand you purchase you should be looking at a bicycle not cars much less premium ones.
Lets see. We owned everything from Chevy to Benz to Nissan to Honda to Toyota/Lexus to now a Tesla. From all the cars I have owned, 02 3.5L V6 Maxima had the lowest maintenance for me followed by Tesla Y. And my highest maintenance was the 08 Lexus LS sedan (12k spent on replacing every 100k miles, trans fluid every 30k and the super thirsty 10 Quartz oil change every 5k miles). Maintenance higher than ALL other cars we owned COMBINED. Now we have a 21 Infiniti QX80 (142 mph top speed, bullet proof V8, real non cvt transmission, etc)
I find it offensive that anyone would really talk reliability comparison of Lexus vs... whatever. Recently stepped down off of a 2007 IS250 that (due to my own doings) had blown a break master cylinder and sucked brake fluid in the engine through the vacuum... Erm, engine still fine. It smoked white for a while, smelled like death, then cleared up and still putting out above factory figures at 200k miles. Put simply - when reliability is the only concern, there is no choice, Lexus is the best.
You missed so many issues with the 3.0T Q50 turbo failure. The 16-18 have a pourus engine block that absorbs coolant and mixes with the oil causing catastrophic failure ++ more
When I was window-shopping my Lexus LS460, i compared the available used cars with the Infiniti comparable models. And the Infinitis are always priced thousands of dollars less. So I figure there must be good reasons for that... finally bought a 2017 LS 460 from a used car lot in Costa Mesa Calif. back in May 2023. It had 69,000 miles and for $36,500 and it is the best car I have ever owned (of about a dozen lifetime). Buy a Lexus you won't be sorry.
This is a strange opinion and comment. The comparison is to see whom is MORE reliable ... Lexus or Infinity... Neither is unreliable. You're making an absolute statement based on personal opinion.
@@restlessyouthproductions notice how I didn’t even mention reliability once!? Same here! cause that wasn’t the point of my comment. It’s opinion yes, to only an extent tho. Sales charts / graphs show infiniti’s struggle and dealer letters for incentives over the past 12yrs show the proof of my “opinion” as you’d like to say. Anything else?
Lexus is just more boring down on performance and behind on technology! I had a LS500 before anyone tries to say that's not true. Infiniti is sporty and much more appealing while being more affordable.
I would assume Lexus is more reliable long term but I went with a q50s and it’s a blast to drive with the twin turbos even just being a silver sport instead of red sport but I imagine it’ll do fine up to 100k and ill probably get rid of it before 100k miles anyway. All in all after having Cadillacs and a bmw I think I’ll stick with Japanese cars from now on, they just make more reliable cars than Americans or Germans

True

Infiniti cars are built off of GTR DNA so as far as I recall, up until 2018, nothing on the road was faster in ICE configuration. The only car at that time which could give it a run was a Tesla... Infiniti stayed fresh until electric began to take over... they didn't have to change cuz for those who knew they were reliable and exceptional.

There are some good experiences for sure out there.
@@ECPP you didn't even talk about the FX series... Such bias or uninformed reporting
I envy the fact that you had a 280Z. They were relatively inexpensive, a blast to drive, and as you said very reliable. Unfortunately, Nissan reliability has waned over the years. Infinities are very nice cars, but a Lexus can run into the next century if you take of it properly.
Same goes for an Infiniti ..
You are totally correct. Yes I also loved that 280 as it had a great torque band making it a lot of fun around town and freeways
Yes and to be honest. Alot of American car are now more reliable than Japanese cars. I'm now saving up for a 2012 Cadillac CTS-V. It comes with 560hp and 550 torque. I'd say it's on the level of a GT-R. But only half less than half the price.

Lexus is still excellent but Infiniti has gone downhill with all the ownership changes at Nissan-which is a real shame.
this is some fake news. what does ownership change have to do with the product that hasn't changed much since 2009? they're all from GTR DNA
Blame renault
Yes! Lexus is cool lol
Lexus & Toyota here in England are always top of the reliability table with one of the best customer satisfaction results along with Honda in most cases .

Whenever you see a car with a small V6 2.5L- 2.8L it's in there for smoothness but not power. They could have made it a 4 banger but it would not have been as smooth as the V6
Acura doesn't have any RWD platforms...
Thanks for sharing
I'd stick to the 2014 - 2015 Q50 because that's before the turbo engine. The naturally aspirated v6 is more reliable.
Turbo puts more wear on engines faster
Lexus is statistically the most reliable car manufacturer. I owned a 2008 G37 and 2004 G35. I never experienced any of the problems from this video. The G37 was new and it did not have one problem. Infiniti's switch to turbocharged engines will lower long term reliability. No car manufacturer will outperform Toyota/Lexus in reliability statistics.
Agreed
@@lions208436 misinformation AND bullshit... I won't bother. Probably a fake account too (edited comment lol)
@@plainpawesome I guess then, if you own a Lexus, you have a rebadged Toyota and if you own an Accura you have a rebadged Honda?
@jjgreek1 Yes, and if you have an Audi, you have a rebadged Volkswagen; just like a Maserati is a rebadged Chrysler.
Thanks for sharing
whats wrong with the infotainment?
@LiNeverLack the dual.screen setup and overly fragmented menus with awkward setting in unintuitive places cna drive a sane person up the wall... Otherwise nothing majorly wrong with it.
I got a 2015 infinity Q50 2.0t and im really happy with it. Fuel economy is v good. Full tank gives around 700km
Engine power is good n feel responsive for a 2 liter angine.
Low maintenance cost
Luxury vehicle.
Problem with Lexus IS that they are all boring cars. No one argues reliability.
I had a M35 for 8 years, zero issues and a Q50S for 3 years with zero issues.
What do you think about the 2016 Infiniti QX70 sport with 100k miles on it?
Buy it best car ever
Its basically brand new. Do change the oil every 10k kms.
I have owned 4 lux brands BMW 550i Lexus is350 Infiniti Q60s Acura ILX the ones who gave me less problems were Lexus and Infiniti, Acura was ok, the BMW WAS A NIGHTMARE TO OWN!
How bad was your BMW?
If you want solid reliability i vote lexus. I own a q50 and its pretty reliable also but it may cost a little more to keeo running
True
Nice work! Appreciate your time and effort. Just thinking of anyone who would be passing by when you act punching the camera 😂
Haha, thanks. It’s always a odd thing to see someone vlogging
@@ECPP very nice informative work and please keep it up this way. Long term ownership is overlooked over youtube and you fill in this gap..
Infinity makes a more sporty driving experience. Quality is close enough.
Nice
2002-2008? Q45 most underrated premium sedan of the 2000's. Those headlamps were way ahead of their time.
If your looking for a brand name go for Lexus. And if your looking for fast go for Infiniti
That’s fair
The most reliable are the ES and the RX these are absolutely amazing
Maybe the LS if you got some cash
It’s disrespectful to do a comparison between the infinishit vs Lexus !
Thanks for watching.
How you ever owned both
At least Infinitis aren’t boomer material…
@@aarontull1907what is boomer material mate?
I own two Infinity vehicles, a Q50 and QX60. I totally disagree with your reviews. I love my cars they're so reliable, and I haven't experienced any issues other than regular routine maintenance . I've had them for 3 years and would have no issues with upgrading if Infinity upgrades the model.
Thanks for sharing
I have a 2016 Q50 now and had a 2006 IS350 before. The Q50 is far superior to the IS350, at 18,000 miles I had to replace brake pads and rotors in the IS350 and every maintenance visit in the dealership was $1,000+. All the parts of the IS350 were as cheap as I have ever seen. The Q50 maintenance is less than half of that and the parts are visibly better quality. There is no doubt in my mind that Infiniti is far more reliable than Lexus.
I own a Lexus IS, so I’m all about Lexus. I used to own an Infiniti coupe. The G35. That thing burned a ton of oil so I have to say … LEXUS WINS!
Much better than Infiniti
A hundred bucks more a yr on average to run an Infiniti vs a Lexus? If that level of penny pinching is what determines which brand you purchase you should be looking at a bicycle not cars much less premium ones.
Agreed!
Lexus is good. No bells and whistles but it is a basic work horse
I've had several Infinitis over the years and I love them
The problem is the bean counters. They are the one making the decision, not the engineering team
Yes
Speaking of rust on Infiniti’s cars.. then 2:49 rust on the Lexus 😩😂😂
Haha, whoops.
You missed so many issues with the 3.0T Q50 turbo failure. The 16-18 have a pourus engine block that absorbs coolant and mixes with the oil causing catastrophic failure ++ more
Thanks for sharing. You are on the money.
Ty. This was very very helpful
Thanks for watching
What do you think of the VQ37VHR engines compared to the ones in the is350?
I have a 06’ is350 with 160k and it’s been so reliable. And acceleration is under 5 seconds usually, love it.
You bet
Infiniti lost its footing around 2010.. idk who would even consider one nowadays except for the intense dealer incentives to push them off the lot..
@@kodeys4090 This isn't a sales comparison video, so next time try to stay on topic. Thanks
Yes
My buick drives better than my friends Infiniti
Lol Lexus is untouchable, overall. Periodt!
Cheers
Ever owned both?
Ok well nothing competes with lexus/toyota if we're being honest. Theyll outlast EVERY car brand
Yes they will
