You completely left out the 5.0L V8 in the Lexus GS-F, RC-F, IS500, IS-F, and LC500. That motor is absolutely bulletproof. As for Audis, you forgot the second gen 5-Cylinder in the RS3 and TTRS. Very reliable engine. I would also add the V10 in the second gen R8.
Audi RS3 and TTRS aren’t really considered as luxury sports cars. The interior in them looks way too cheap for an Audi
Preach 🙏🏾
I can personally vouch for the MDX. Specifically, the 2nd gen (2007-2013) with the 3.7L J37A1 SOHC v6 engine and SH-AWD system. We bought it with 118k mi and now have 195k mi on the odo. The timing belt was replaced at around 130k mi, along with both front CV axles and an oil leak was addressed. Since then, I've just replaced brakes, the starter, and an electric door module. This car still has the original COPs and spark plugs. It still runs like a champ and can really get up to speed without issue. The 3.7L v6 is a very good powerplant for a vehicle this size. The trans fluid change is similar to an engine oil change. It's literally just a drain and fill procedure taking 30min at most. Just use genuine Honda automatic trans fluid and you'll be fine. The A/C went out at around 175k mi, but I was able to repair that relatively easily.
The SH-AWD system is very offroad capable. It's no rock crawler, but it can navigate most trails. Just don't try to cross a mud bog, or expect Jeep level suspension travel. But it defeats the diagonal slip test. I haven't had any issues with the AWD system. This vehicle is awesome in the snow.
Overall, I work on this vehicle less than any of the others I have. It's also our only family vehicle.
Highly recommended for those who still do their own auto maintenance and want a dependable luxury SUV platform that can also trail on occasion.
As far as the video is concerned. I have heard very good things about the B58 engine. It is an I6, which would be easy to work on theoretically. It can make big power that's for sure. I'm more concerned about the rest of the vehicle though. This is a BMW afterall. The RX350 is very reliable. Perhaps the most reliable on this list. Same with the Cayenne. At least 1st gen with NA 4.5l and 4.8L V8 models. Not sure about the V6 and TT models.
I don't understand this distain for timing belts. I've had them on all my cars. I've changed them on all my cars. They're relatively easy to get to, in Hondas, you'll change them when you change your water pump. On my Nissan hardbody, I changed the timing belt with the change of my water pump. With 115k mi and 29yrs, the belt didn't even look like it needed to be replaced.
IMO, a belt beats a long chain. No plastic tensioners that disintegrate over time. No chain stretch that distorts timing. Or sprocket wear from oil starvation.
I've only had one belt snap and I had it coming. I had a non-interference engine so I didn't even care. I replaced it in 2hrs. These belts are behind timing covers. No RTV, no oil, no chain guides. No double or triple chain combos. Just one belt. Give me a belt-timed Honda over a chain-timed Audi any day of the week. It's a 75k-100k mi change that takes 2hrs on average. 3-4 if the water pump is also changed. Unless you're running an OHV pushrod engine, a belt just makes better sense. I prefer a timing belt, but maybe I'm the only one.
Anyway, great video. It's a well compiled list.
Thanks for listening.
Cheers.
I own a w212 E550 BiTurbo and 958 Cayenne Turbo….both extremely reliable. Your list was pretty spot on however I’m surprised you left out the Cayman/Boxster.
The W212 E63S AMG is by far the most reliable and fun car I’ve ever owned.I’ve owned 2 now and will be on the market soon… loved them so much I’m considering going back.
nothing like my 2001 lexus ls430 😊
A good deal on a great car is better than a great deal on a good car!
I bought my 2013 S-line Prestige Q5 (v6 3.0L) new and still have it. I refuse to let go of it! It’s the best car I have ever owned and have never had a single problem. It’s got serious hustle, and has gone through insane off-roading terrain in the mountains and desert. Two big dogs, work cargo, trips to Costco… there’s nothing it can’t do! This one is a keeper!
I’ve got Porsche Cayenne S (v8 TT 4.0L) joining the family too.
Brother, most of these are decent offers from otherwise unreliable luxury brands, but non beats the Lexus in any category. I know more than one owner of a Lexus GX with over 600k miles.
Why not? It's possible if you take car with good care and maintenance will last for a long time. Sure the Lexus is luxury , fun and reliable but the other cars can be reliable too
Hence why lexus took 3 of the top 10 spots.
Sometimes other brands have a good hit too, my 1994 BMW 740 has 224,000 miles.
Though I do kinda want to get the old V8 lexus GX, As much as i love the styling of the new GX, I dont trust that twin-turbo V6.
@mannyrosado9887 we will just have to wait and see how the new GX holds up with the 3.4L TT V6.
Only lexus owners are called it to luxury car brand 😂 if you want a more luxury thats means you need a car with more issues that is the theory that why range rover ,masarati, caddilac are highest value dicrease brands
I am daily driving a 1994 BMW 740iL, its been very good to me, over 224,000 miles and counting! Since I got it I have put on over 100 miles a day. (I drive allot, work is very far away from me)
How much you pay a month for fuel?
@@rogermartinez78 its not to bad, $300 on the BMW, i was paying $400 a month for the 4runner when i was driving that daily. The BMW gets 25-27 mpg highway, beating its epa estimate.
Do you and have you ever driven spiritedly during it life?
@@Ymcdaj Sometimes i have a little fun, or just want to "safely pass a semi before it has a chance to get over"
I daily drive a 1995 Mercedes E300D W124. Those cars without OBDii are a dream to have due to the simplicity. The german cars are heavy because they have a higher safety standard than the Japanese and American cars.
I daily a Lexus GS350 f-sport 😊 and weekend a Porsche 991.1 911 C4S. Both have been very reliable.
My suv is a 15 Audi Q7 s-line prestige. It is a bit more maintenance intensive and is the one that scares me the most. lol so there’s a a good reason it’s not on the list.
W212 is super solid, even the hot rod E63S AMG. I own one and it’s been impressive considering the high performance.
I will say having a BMW M4 from 2016 when I bought it new and I still have it, runs amazing and I rip on it all the time. I maintain it and I haven’t had a single issue with it over the 8 years of having it. I’ve owned a lot of cars but this one seems pretty bulletproof so far.
The w211 is actually pretty good but you must know the car
Atleast the e55
Lexus and Infinite are legendary. Fact
I own a 2011 C207 (W212 coupe) E200, not everything is so good with M271 turbo. I bought one 4 years ago with just 27k km (17k miles) of range and everything is not that good. Current range is 117k km (73k miles) and I've encountered problems (some of them - several times) with camshaft adjuster, crankcase ventilation valve, thermostat, almost all engine seals and heat exchanger. These engines also have oil pressure issues pretty often. But i still love my car so much.
The best engines for W212/C207/W204 are M274 (2.0 liter since 2013) and M276 (3.5 liter since 2012) - they are really reliable. I hope this information will be useful for someone.
Interesting video. Good job.
On the Audi segment I’ll have to chime in and make some adjustments to your comments. The 3.0T engine combined with the 8 speed auto is excellent. It’s available on multiple models as well, the Q5, the A6, A7, A8. They are all awesome. I have one of these myself and it’s inching close to 200k now. Zero issues. The S4 even with the second gen DSG can still have issues. I’d put it below the other models I mentioned. The 2.0T I wouldn’t sleep on, 2013+ especially. I’ve had multiple 2.0T cars, they have never failed me either. You might do timing chains once during the car’s life, maybe a water pump leak, but that’s it. I haven’t managed to kill one and I’m not easy on my cars
Great video, solid cars. Lines up with what you hear most enthusiast recommend. We own a 2020 RX350 family of 3 with one on the way, car is a lifer for sure.
To the blue 340xi cruising on 225n today. I was in the white sq5. Just wanted to tell you I love your car and I want one.
I was fw this list until I saw the audi sq5💀
I'm surprised volvo didn't make the cut
I’ve had my 2016 E400 coupe 4matic since 2018 now it’s paid off 🙌🏾and I can definitely say its reliable and still fun to drive 🤞🏽hopefully i have the same luck with the E53 cabriolet 😅
I have owned a few BMW’s in my time, every time something always on the dash. As I have gotten older I’m find my self in a Honda Pilot. I love it and I don’t spend a ton of time in the dealer.
What's your advice on the Audi Q7 Premuum Plus w/55 (larger engine)?
Thx
Happy to find this video. I’m about to get a 24 or 25 X5 40.
Where is the BMW M4 F82 with the engine S55 ?
I see the foto you used but.....
It should be on the list....or not?
Have a 2010 X5D, other than the whole def crap, it has been rock-solid. 200k miles and we are planning another cross-country drive. However, I should mention I do the maintenance myself and I am very particular what I put in her. Oil is like our blood for us. I tend to change oil sooner than recommended. Change wear items sooner than required and rebuilt the suspension. It has been so far very reliable.
I daily a 2021 440 and it’s been good zero problems so far, maybe still to early to tell
does this included M340i?
No Volvo? Anywhere? Is Volvo not considered luxury?
#1 Kia Stinger GT
Love my 2019 991.2 4 gts! After MANY cars (never a collector, just a driver), I think I'm done!
E46m3 is always the answer
2011 bmw 528i , N52 engine in it . most simple and reliable BMW.
How do u have the rx350 and the gs350, but not the Is350
Fits the same category, same 3.5 v6 and features, the is is just a smaller GS
LS350? That’s was never a thing!
@@AgonxOC or the Ls460.
is350 bro, not LS350
The B58 engine was cemented by Toyota preparing for the Toyota Supra. Over a 100's of parts where taken to Germany 🇩🇪 for the rebuild and enforcement of the that engine
Why not a x5 wit the n55?!?
If you want a luxury car, that not gone a break, just but a lexus it simple
So Lexus is still #1!!!
Timestamps would be nice addition
You guys really sited JD Power for real car info? 😂 they just lost all credibility lmao
I was thinking the same thing lol
I miss my GS350 F Sport..... it got totalled 😢 I replaced it with a Stinger GT2, MUUUCH Faster but not nearly as all around nice. Build Qt, brakes, suspension etc.....the lexus just feels higher quality.
Should have gotten the M340i
@@dedan2 naaah, you pay more and get less car. To option it out like my stinger it would be $20k more. I make the money but I like value
Total bummer. Have had a ‘15 GS350 F Sport as my daily for about 6 years now. About 90k on it. Absolutely loved it until recently buying a 21’ BMW X3 30e for the family car. First time ever driving a BMW. What a machine and that’s just a X3. Now I’m about to pull the trigger on a 21’ M340i
@@kpaco311 get the X3 M40i! I'm in the market for one now.
@@SilkySmooth02 totally understand
W204 is decent
Bmw engine n20?😥
How did the Audi TT not make the list? It was voted most likely to exceed 150k miles! This does have some great options on the list though. People need more reliability in their thought processes!
I have Audi TT 2010 E888 engine stocks with stg 1 and timing chain done. Thats about it. The rest just normal dsg and engine oil change. Now 120kkm and running still nice as day 1
MB C350 2012 and you are correct on B58 engine BMW 440i. The two best. Lexus Pexus does not handle well on curves..It is a toyota . May be that was fixed for later models but I hear so many issues with new toyota that is to avoid for now
My m240i has been good. So far...
how many miles
Lexus ls430
What about Volvo
Not BMW after 2001
Lexus hasnt been a luxury car brand in years guys. Now theyre all just Toyotas with more leather and a different grille. Same engines, handling characteristics, and maybe a 15% better ride quality. Thats it. They appeal to Toyota/Honda owners who want something a little fancier but theyre rarely gonna steal a customer from the Germans
Bmw X5 E70 with the n52 engine 6cyl n/a with vanos... pushing 186k miles on it and 16 yrs old, never an issue....oh well, if you remove some of the engine plastic with aluminum bits.
I had an E-350 and it was a piece of crap. I think mine was the 212
Do you know the difference between a CAR and an SUV?
Your title says: "10 MOST RELIABLE Luxury Cars" yes, cars. Then you promptly veer off into SUV land.
An SUV is NOT a car, and doesn't HANDLE anything like a car - especially not like a performance car.
I know, I, and two friends of mine just ditched their SUVs and went back to cars (3 sedans and a coupe). They are delighted(!) with the handling and gas mileage... The cars are: VW Arteon, Lexus RC350, Audi A6, and a "lowly" Mazda 3.
"We forgot how much more enjoyable is driving a performance car instead of a SUV"
Why isnt there an infiniti?😅😅
Newer ones have Nissan's shitty assed cvt transmissions
Nissan cant build transmissions, thats why their reliable trucks dont use nissan transmissions.
I think the Titan uses a mercedes transmission, someone can correct me if im wrong, im not as much a truck guy so I dont have perfect knowlage of this.
Nissan/ infinity has one big flaw: Transmission
I have a G37 manual, beg to differ @@danielbob4310
Ahem, guess the king of kings for longevity happens to be from Dearborn…..Ford rules
👍
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Shocked to see the bmw x5 on the list
Best Luxury SUV in the market bar none!
With the b58 yes
Not for India...
Except, Except,Except; sarcasm, a real list of most unreliable except Lexus & Acura
Cayenne relaible 😅
Why isn't Infiniti on this on this list 🙄🤔
Because of its reputation for unreliability
VQs get to 200 to 300k miles
Certainly not all infinitis would make this list but the QX80 for example is tried and true and the 5.6 v-8 is just about as close to bullet proof as they come.
@@bradleyscobel3222 not according to the car wizard. The engine isn't the problem it is everything else.
Dam not American cars lol
The new Audi 3 liter super charged or turbo are trash and I was owner of 3 and 4 different Audi mechanics said the same 2016-up
No lexus LS? no Genesis G90? Tf? I've never seen any decent mechanic call any Mercedes or BMW made within the last 20+ years, reliable, or even capable of lasting over 100k miles with just basic maintenance. I've seen them recommend mostly lexus products, though. I have no idea why this list is mostly BMW, but you might want to do a source check
Don't you think that's boring? Everyone knows that lexus are reliable luxury car they could've just said buy a gx rx ls is and end the video people want things different maybe nicer or something else and yes those cars can last too.
Actually they can . Especially the BMW with the b58 can last for long term
just a bunch of lexus cars would be boring, 3 did make it though, so he probably only found 6 german cars for the top 10. And 1 random honda.
@krystely boring cars tend to last 200k miles or more. So yes, bring on the boring. Luxury cars are supposed to be comfortable, boring cruisers anyway. Not 500 horsepower track machines.
@alg003 i'm not saying boring car. i'm saying the video would be boring. Why always state the obvious 10 luxury : lexus lexus lexus. People want maybe nicer luxury or more engaging driving lexus are not that. Mercedes and bmw can do that so why not give people the option? When there are actually good options
you forgot to mention terrible electronics problems with BMW 340i. Engine is great yes, but rest of the car, not so much
Didn't heard from the owners to have that problem
Propaganda or just not knowing shit
