I bought a 24 MINI Cooper 2-door, and did not pay over MSRP. I find it hard to believe anyone has. While the base price for the Cooper is $29,000, it has very few options. Just like with most BMW products if you want one that is fully loaded expect to add at least $10k to the base price. If they want to call that paying over MSRP it is being misleading.

They should still offer a manual transmission, everything else is fine. Well, I'd like to be able to toggle the RWS to see if it makes a difference FOR ME.

People who pay dealer markups are rewarding the dealers bad behavior and encouraging them to continue their price gouging. Paying dealer markups is selfish because it raises prices for everyone else.

To see Honda below Nissan boggled my mind. I thought Nissan was bottom of the barrel. I should know from owning one and it needs another transmission. I can't imagine the way Honda had to screw up to do worse than Nissan's Versa and B17 Sentra.

My 2007 Nissan Altima 2.5 with 160,000 miles and questionable transmission has less severe problems than my wife 2021 Honda CRV! Honda quality is going down to toilet!

I have an ‘18 with the NA 2.0l and no issues so far with 60k miles on it.

Who the heck even buys minis much less over MSRP? Isn't their resale terrible? Also paying over for anything seems insane to me, but let the punishment fit the crime I guess.

I least got mine 2024 mini countryman for was $34,800 originally was $35K plus I talk them down the price least about $32K I spent plus $2K discount They accept the price after price negotiation $34.8K

For the people with issues on 1.5 l turbo engine, and cvt trans honda. Dont drive yours car like a race car, change oils 3 k miles, keep all the maintenance up today, and you will be fine.

So now we are left with an automatic 'PDK' transmission that does all the shifting for us, goofy rear steering axle as standard that nobody wants, a digital screen without the cool tachometer, a dopey Braun shaver on the center console and a cup holder that came off the shelf at AutoZone. Seriously? Might as well just drive a Prius at this point.

It always cracks me up when people talk about the LS production engine as if it was some kinda engineering masterpiece! Then when you really get into the engine you find how inaccurate and sloppily they are built and assembled.

I’m convinced Porsche is doing - if not the right thing - what it’s gotta do with the 911 as far as emission regulations are concerned. No choice there. All this is fine for the GTS , no doubt the S upgraded version yet to be revealed, and the Turbo versions which will no doubt be absolute missiles. My only fear is what will it be with the GT3 versions and what future for the manual gearbox so far unavailable on the 992.2 GTS. Unfortunately progress does sometimes (and paradoxically) has its shortcomings 😎

I bought a Type R at $2500 over MSRP in August of 23. But for my $2500 the dealer coughed up the OEM carbon fiber near wing, which I was intending to buy anyways

They will still make 911 variants with Manual transmissions, they wont be hybrids or likely the more impressive ones. They'll charge more for less, and the buyers will be glad to overpay to shift their own gears. If you want a "cheaper" 911 manual get the current or earlier one.

I used to work at a dealership and yea mark ups are obviously real but dealerships also don't sell "standard" cars, especially for luxury cars, the dealerships will add options to such a degree that there's probably a few models of cars that have the same options as standard. The bmw dealership I worked at always adds the m sport option on any car they sell

So they increased the cost of buying and maintaining it massively, the complexity has created an operational nightmare; all to please their gods of the climate hoax. I know the EU regulators are driving a lot of this but Porsche leadership has gone fully woke and happily seeks to ram green down the throats of its customers. I’ve bought 5 Porsches so far,all new, but if they don’t have a pure offering for 911 turbo then I’m out permanently. They could have achieved all the performance improvements without the EV madness, but again they are woke. Just look at the Porsche reps little white shoes as he pretends to be Apple’s Tim Cook…sickening.

I appreciate the fact that they keep engineering the 911 to stay fun and relevant. I’m a manual guy and own a 991.2 and a 992 Targa GTS. I’m sad to see it go but understand they had no choice. It’s not them taking it away from us. It’s the relentless pursuit of emission standards that keep taking things away from us that we love.

The new GTS is not faster than the current turbo S.

F1 WIlliams in 1992-1994 i think had the winning EDGE ... CVT transmission. ANd F1 cars of today are 1.6L turbo Hybrids/.....They hammer and cane their caqrs and look at the performance

It’s not the hybrid that upsets me, it is the price. For a modestly spec’d GTS, you can get Ferrari 488, or a 675LT with way more power and soul. Porsche prices have become ridiculous.

No manual is a dealbreaker for me and the word hybrid is a buzzkill but I’ll keep an open mind.

I’m excited to see when this technology is adopted by the rest of Porsche’s line up including SUVs and sedans.

Very optimistic about the GTS’s new tech. Even with this new hybrid tech, Porsche always know what’s needed to make the 911 great. Only thing I don’t like on the new GTS is the vertical front slats - the front of the base Carrera looks much better.
