yo!!! i wonder if you also “called it” insofar as the similarities to Fire Emblem, because Tokyo Mirage Sessions was first teased in 2013, as an SMT x Fire Emblem game, but in 2015 we got an rpg about teen idols & the jpop music business. maybe this game contains nods to the Atlus x Fire Emblem crossover that fans were expecting a decade ago, but never got to play 🤔😊🪄

that would actually make a ton of sense! it’s possible they moved elements away from TMS (which I just realised is SMT backwards LOL) and moved it into this project instead 🤔
@@ChocolateKieran from what i’ve read/heard in recent years, Nintendo was controlling the direction of TMS (i didn’t realize it was SMT backwards either! thx!). TMS was bankrolled by Nintendo-it was developed as an exclusive title for the Wii. i presume they wanted “their” Atlus game to be both more secular & more approachable, for players more into pop culture, rather than those into the occult & spiritual mythology (i think i read that Nintendo has had a longstanding reputation for not wanting religious content on their console… even though SMT was on the Super Famicom, and now the Switch)
I've been waiting for this game for like 7 years since it was first talked about, only getting news about it last summer
Really like the battle them, gives me "The fear of god" vibes from smt strange journey (which he also did the music for, always wanted him to do more of that style)
Wait, this has been in development for 7 years? That's even more than the development time for Persona 6 which has been stated to have begun development in 2019. Im so hyped rn!
The battle theme is FIRE!!! But it's interesting they've been working on this for so long, really expecting big things!
Yeah this was announced back in 2016 and the only thing we got between them and 2023 was concept art of the red elf girl, who we now know as hulkenberg, and she was even added as a dlc portrait for Etrian Odyssey Nexus in 2018 (another atlus IP that's been dormant except for the remasters, still waiting for that next game)
Honestly I thought this was cancelled until they told me "hey this games coming out next year"
I remember that Yoko Taro interview that mentioned how Atlus was making a more medieval-modern game, back on Nier Automata's launch.
Got high hopes for Metaphor or as many call it: *Persona Fantasy*
There's Digital Devil Saga + Persona + Dragon Quest + a little bit of Star Ocean

well to answer your question the action is for weaker enemy while the turn base is for the strong enemy as that the system intended but it is a manual switch as there is a button that makes want to do it turn base and i think its Y from Xbox controller

it's not isekai, at least at first. maybe that'll be some revelation. the 'humans' are probably isekai'd up monsters though
What makes me think its an isekai to an extent is there are barely ANY real humans in this world beyond the protag and Junah... It's a little odd
@@ChocolateKieran the protag isn't human, he's an 'elda' a super low level tribe that had access to dangerous magic. junah also isn't human, she's a 'Nidia' who are known to be very beautiful with iridescent eyes, good at flattery but are considered very untrustworthy. The 'Humans' are the grotesque monsters we see as bosses and 'demihumans' are the monsters in the dungeons.

@@ChocolateKieran yeah there’s a video you missed. It’s called “the creators voice.” It’s 15 minutes and it kinda describes the premise. It also goes into character design. Around that time they showed all 8 races in a press release
