This game had a LOT of problems that contributed to it dying. One is the bugs. Another is the story. The customization was pretty basic. But IMO, the worst was the mission structure for side content, or should I say, the way they worked. Basically, you'd start a mission, get a loading screen, watch a short conversation between characters, get another laoding screen, get a brief cutscenes, loading screen, have a short battle, another loading screen, post battle dialogue, loading screen, you're back in the player hub. And each of those loading screeens was at least 10 seconds, and I'm pretty sure that's a low ball figure. And even worse, I'm about 90% sure you had to do multiple side missions to unlock story missions, and those weren't much better, as I'm pretty sure it was the same procees most of the time, but with slightly better animated cutscenes every so often.
Remember also that loading screens was not only like but technically Sonic 06 again, which had a fixed amount of time to wait, so didn't matter if you were high on specs, will always have to wait 20 seconds for each loading screen. IMO, J-Stars did more with the characters to blend with each other than this game trying to sell and edgy realistic scenario where Goku still complains about being hungry while still having an angry face to a Deku who for some reason has the blushing bubbly face of a baby that is nothing at all even to the first season despite clearly being taken in consideration from season 2-3... And the way how the Super moves are literally an attempt to "copy & paste" the moment but with 0 impact and nonsense connections that just makes it look not only confusing but unnecessary (like Rukia just transforming at the end or Deku punching once and then going for a second really similar punch)
The reason why Yoruichi wasn't talked much was because she was announced around the same time the game was announced to shut down, and she released shortly before

40:40- Yes, Yugi can attack while Swords of Revealing Light is working. He can even do his ultimate if he has enough energy. The thing that keeps it from being too busted is that 1. His Draw move is random (and so is Kaiba’s) and 2. If your opponent is moving it’s pretty easy for them to dodge the swords.
The thing about Kimimaro is that he's from the Kaguya clan and when they show his backstory, his clan looks like they could resemble the Otsutsuki's as well... But the anime doesn't make any connection. (Idk if the manga does). This brings me to one of my biggest gripes with the 4th great ninja war, and that's that there were only a few 'exceptional' ninja that weren't sealed during the war and Kimimaro was one of them, along with Mangetsu Hozuki (Suigetsu's older brother) and Lady Chiyo... Missed that Giorno actually activated Return to Zero and set Frieza in a death loop, which swapped the opponent to Piccolo. In-game, the character that gets hit with that move is out for the rest of the round.
You know, I'm surprised you haven't done a reaction to, like, the ultimate attacks in Pirate Warriors 4. Been playing it lately and some of those supers go hard in the animation.
This game spoiled some people on a lot of stuff. Specifically anime only people for bleach. At the time the Thousand Year Blood War arc wasnt out yet so Rukia's Bankai Hakka no Togami, Renji's real bankai Sõõ Zabimaru, Hitsugaya's true form and the worst one Ichigo's bankai/horn of salvation form hadnt been seen yet. So people got kinda pissed about that understandably. The Kido that Aizen used that you were like whats happening is Bakudo #81: Danku. Its a shield that blocks kido under number 89 so its really strong. Aizen used it back when he was a captain to block a 2 stage attack i think from Tesai who was the leader of the Kido Corps
Yes Kaiba was a DLC character i believe he was the first to be revealed not 100% sure, and there were leaks of additional characters who were suppose to be part of the main roster but due to time constraints they were cut off. Those were: Bleach: Kenpachi Zaraki and Byakuya Kuchiki Saint Seiya: Cygnus Hyoga and Andromeda Shun
Omau Wa Mo Shinderu was only said once in the manga. The anime adaptation decided to repeat it many more times, and since the Jump games are more accurate to the manga most of the time, he doesn't say it.
All the OG characters in this game was designed by Akira Toriyama himself. You can search up the drawings and you can definetly see his unique and amazing style. Rip Edit: Wow, you figured it out by yourself by looking. Goated

I genuinely had so much fun and love playing this Game! Kaiba, Kaguya, Yugi, Sasuke and Yoruichi were my favs before servers shut down. I have almost only good memories of this game and never saw it as ugly. I just didn't like the hub world much. Obviously I wish there was a Jump force 2 with like double or triple the character roster because my only disappointment was no Marik Ishtar to finalize the Egyptian God Yugioh trio. ALSO THESE SHOWCASES DIDN'T SHOW THE FULL CHARGED VERSIONS OF SUPER ATTACKS! The dark magician girl attack charged has a dark black magic duo attack with Girl and Magician and it's so sick!
bro i got vietnam war flashbacks when i saw blackbeard, when i first play the game there was so many people using him and i hated it because the whitebeard attack was unblockable and people used blackhole to draw we near and hit with whitebeard attack, and i didn't know how to counter that shit at the time so every fight i died with 3 attacks because of this bullshit
lol shonen jump crossover games go as far back as the 80’s back on the nes! My personal favorite is Jump Super Stars and Jump Ultimate Stars on the DS! I still have my copies!
As someone who played the game from launch until all dlc was out. The main reasons it didn't have a big fan base was because the story sucked ass, the art style did NOT fit some characters, the models were stiff and awkward, and the roster at launch was not it. The online pvp was super unbalanced where the community were in a race with the devs to discover more broken shit first. When people discovered shield break cheese the meta was finding the characters who could abuse it. They removed it but then some characters could still do it anyway. Also the most decisive thing was probably the oc/self-interest main character. Depending on the meta they were the best character in the game because you could change their moveset to create broken combos. 5/10 game but enjoyed the hell out of it regardless.
This makes a lot of sense! I remember the animations being TRASH in the story but I think somebody said they fixed it in a patch? Interestig to hear about the Meta side of things though. I do think this game is still better looking animation wise than the JJK game we just got
I know this style of gameplay was the trend a round this point for anime games, but I think what people really wanted was a scaled-up version of Jump Super/Ultimate Stars. Complete with a more manga aesthetic. I think that would have done much better.
Yeah, the Saint Seiya characters are lifted from Saint Seiya Soldier's Soul. There is an ALL BIG BANG ATTACKS video by youtuber Anime Games Online that shows all the character finishers. It your standard flashy anime arena fighter, but it fun.
(forgive my English but I'm not a native speaker) I'll be honest, I played this game a lot and I enjoyed it a lot before, besides the numerous bugs the game quickly became repetitive after finishing the side missions, due to the players using ALL the same characters and the game practically wasn't updated , the characters remained the same, the moves were always the same, it wasn't fun anymore once you know how to use 2 or 3 teams, and it's not enough to add a few paid characters to bring back interest... A curiosity, yes Sanji in the game when he attacks a female character does not damage to her
There's a Team Fortress 2 animation series I recommend for you to react. It's called Fedora Chronicles, if my memory serves me right, he made the Overwatch vs Team Fortress 2 animation you reacted back then
You can still play online matches normally but you just can't be in a online lobby or do ranked matches anymore but also no one can buy the game anymore it's not in stores anymore
Im sure you're aware of this, but anyway, Dragon Quest has its own manga/anime spin-off series directly under Weekly Shonen Jump, which is how Dai got into the game. Ryo Saeba is from City Hunter, he works as a private detective or "Sweeper" to basically catch bad guys in Japan. Most series like Dr. Stone, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Demon Slayer were not in the roster was mainly because they were too new of a series to be considered plus they needed to be developed in advanced since they do take a while to input a character and their mobesets into the game. The main reason this game did not do well was due to licensing rights of not being able to get the full contract with one or some of the characters in the game, as well as online matches were made poorly with no rematch button (later patched 7 months after the game released), terrible lagging, constant loading screens, unbalanced roster, terrible story and OCs, some animations are not as impressive as you may think it looks especially when looking through story mode, character models look too oiled up and plastic while lacking facial expressions, and some mislead text errors
Well, the manga Dai is from isn't in any way related to the mainline Dragon Quest games, wasn't drawn or written by Toriyama, and has little in common to the main series other than references. It's a little hard (at least for me) to straight up call him a "Dragon Quest character".
@marksamson4173 it's not related to the games because it's a spin-off, it's basically bringing the game to life in manga and anime form (from the 90s and 2020 anime). Yes you're right, Toriyama may not have designed or written the works, but the story itself has the DQ charm from head to toe. That's like saying Dragonball Super doesn't feel like being called Dragonball since Toriyama also doesn't write or draw the characters anymore, Toyotaro does all of that now but we still can see it as Dragonball regardless of who writes it or not.
@@IamJerf The DBS comparison doesn't really work here, though, since DBS is still Dragon Ball and is a continuation of the official canon storyline. Adventures of Dai has nothing to do with Dragon Quest at all save for the title using the Dragon Quest name. it doesn't even seem to take place in the same world. A spin-off at least would have an actual relationship with the mainline series it's a spin-off of.
@marksamson4173 to be fair actually, Toriyama didn't even create the Dragon Quest franchise in the first place, so do we really need to make the comparison based on Toriyama alone to consider it Dragon Quest? It's still created by Yuji Horii himself
@@IamJerf Uh, but, you're the one who made the comparison.. well anyway, yeah, there's no need to compare them, but my point still stands. Adventures of Dai is only loosely (very loosely) based on Dragon Quest; with the only real connection being the name. And maybe a few monsters, but those also are only similar in name. In no way am I saying The Adventures of Dai is a bad series, mind you. I'm just saying I'd hesitate to actually call it a Dragon Quest series, or Dai a DQ character.
So few facts about this game when it was coming out. Toriyama did design those original game villains, they asked him too. The guy with the gun is the MC of City Hunter. The reason Izuku’s ultimate is the OFA 1,000,000% Delaware Detroit Smash is because they didn’t want to spoil anime-only MHA fans so even though the manga was much further and probably could have added OFA 100% form and an attack from the Overhaul arc they didn’t. Also not a fact, but I do think it’s funny you pointed out how Kurapika’s attacks should only work on Phantom Troupe members while forgetting that Yami’s and Kaiba’s attacks shouldn’t work since their cards are only holograms 😂
I gave Yugi & Kaiba a pass because of the existence of Duel Spirits and Shadow games LOL, also just because its funny hahaha. Also the irony of them not wanting to spoil Deku's abilities and then straight up spoiling Bleach stuff is wild to me!
@@ChocolateKieran I know right. 😂 I mean to be fair, I’m pretty sure in the original dub of Yu-Gi-Oh, Shadow Games didn’t exist. That was just a 4kids censor to cover people dying in duels. I am sad Demon Slayer didn’t get in as it would have been cool to see them. I miss some of the characters they had in the previous Jump game and the dialogue they had in it. Also, something I just thought about. While I do like the designs of the villains that Toriyama came up with, I think it would be cool if they had him design the main villain, and then had Kishimoto and Oda each get one of the other two to design themselves because DB, Naruto, and One Piece were pushed as the three main anime of the game.
@@NarutoTsunadefan1 shadow Games did exist, check out season 0 or the manga 😁 it’s the shadow realm that was made up by 4Kids 😂 the deaths were induced by losing shadow games ☺️ and agreed I wish we got JJK and Demon Slayer in! @@ChocolateKieran that’s right I mixed up Realm and Games thanks to both starting with Shadow 😅 It would have been great to have JJK and Demon Slayer! I also remember that technically they had non-Shonen Jump material in the game by having the SSB forms and Golden Frieza in the game as DBS was published in V Jump not Shonen Jump (although Shonen Jump does own V Jump)
Prometheus, Kane & Moth girl are all OC's created to be the big bads Other things: Giorno's final just flat out kills you, if you get hit by it you cannot use that character until the next round
oh also, how the game tackles GER’s ability is that after Giorno uses his ult, the character it was done on is completely locked out for the rest of the round.
I think it's absolutely stupid that both this and J-Stars were delisted all because no one plays it online. What about us non-online players? What about those who dont want to spend 80+ dollars a year to play online? I still have my physical copy of this, and J-stars and I still go back to them from time to time just to mess around
Yeah, it really is a shame how poorly this game did. It was decent in combat, the story was god awful to be real, animations and interactions alike, but it had so much potential to be good. Less characters than J-Stars Victory Vs + I think, and less anime inclusions, but they at least put in effort in making references to the sources in their specials.
Love your reactions my man but you should check jstars victory vs super and ults because alot stuff in jump force came from their including seiya vegtas and gokus ults.

Saint Seiya characters are basically the only ones who probably could actually hold their own against Dragon Ball characters!
Frieza could be hurt by his own energy discs because that was how he was defeated on Namek in Dragon Ball.
Rukia used to be one of my mains in competitive, she was so fun to play!
I totally forgot this game existed
I still play this game to this day sometimes
The catchphrase u mentioned about kenshino is instant death move for 3min
Missed that Giorno actually activated Return to Zero and set Frieza in a death loop, which swapped the opponent to Piccolo. In-game, the character that gets hit with that move is out for the rest of the round.
Oh I did totally miss that actually, that'd dope!
Aizen used it back when he was a captain to block a 2 stage attack i think from Tesai who was the leader of the Kido Corps
me and a couple friends play this game online with each other every other day, so to us, it's far from dead
Also I think there were some missing DLC characters, I might have missed it, but I know Seto Kaiba is in this game too as DLC.
Yes Kaiba was a DLC character i believe he was the first to be revealed not 100% sure, and there were leaks of additional characters who were suppose to be part of the main roster but due to time constraints they were cut off. Those were:
Bleach: Kenpachi Zaraki and Byakuya Kuchiki
Saint Seiya: Cygnus Hyoga and Andromeda Shun
Omau Wa Mo Shinderu was only said once in the manga. The anime adaptation decided to repeat it many more times, and since the Jump games are more accurate to the manga most of the time, he doesn't say it.
All the OG characters in this game was designed by Akira Toriyama himself. You can search up the drawings and you can definetly see his unique and amazing style. Rip
Edit: Wow, you figured it out by yourself by looking. Goated
I don’t care what anyone says I loved this game and it deserves a more polished sequel
4:25 NAHH SPEAKING OF LIGHT I REMEMBER WHEN THE TRAILER FOR THIS DROPPED AND THEY HAD HIM AT THE END MAKING US THINK HE WAS PLAYABLE 😭
13:35 yeah Sanji cant attack women 😂
20:25 You actually can Toshiro was one of my mains
I remember being pissed at the whole Light and Ryuk thing when I found out. They were in the story, but not playable in any form whatsoever.

Yugi doesn’t have *MONSTER CARDO* is probably because the seal
of orichalcos is a filler arc
I always liked the realism art style of jump force it was always beautiful to me especially when it came to ultimates ik a lot person hate the style but it was one of the selling points to the gane to me 🤷🏾♂️
"Is Hisoka not in this game?"
" 🤡"
" 🙂"
LOL the timing was crazy 😂
That sounds SUPER annoying 😭
lol shonen jump crossover games go as far back as the 80’s back on the nes! My personal favorite is Jump Super Stars and Jump Ultimate Stars on the DS! I still have my copies!
THE 80s?! I'm aware of the Gameboy, DS and onwards but had no idea it went that far back!
@@ChocolateKieran Yuh!! First one was
@@ChocolateKieran Yuup! The first one was Famicom Jump in 89 for the NES or Super Famicom in japan
I kinda want to see you do J-Stars victory vs Ultimates Next since it came before Jump Force and was the same style of game for the most part.
I'd be down for this since I actually never played this one
jumpforce unfortunately died due to lack of balancing, and most likely a problem with keeping up on license contracts.
A lot of the attacks from one piece aren’t from burning blood, they’re genuinely from the manga/anime
yes, and those attacks from burning blood are also from the manga and anime ☺️ I meant the animations and models
(forgive my English but I'm not a native speaker)
I'll be honest, I played this game a lot and I enjoyed it a lot before, besides the numerous bugs the game quickly became repetitive after finishing the side missions, due to the players using ALL the same characters and the game practically wasn't updated , the characters remained the same, the moves were always the same, it wasn't fun anymore once you know how to use 2 or 3 teams, and it's not enough to add a few paid characters to bring back interest...
A curiosity, yes Sanji in the game when he attacks a female character does not damage to her
There's a Team Fortress 2 animation series I recommend for you to react. It's called Fedora Chronicles, if my memory serves me right, he made the Overwatch vs Team Fortress 2 animation you reacted back then
Bro there’s no shot people disliked this game wtf. How did this game die so hard when the game looks this fucking good
how do I get dlc bro
33:09 City Hunter
Bro called it a gag manga 💀💀💀
Can you blame me for asking when blood pulled bazooka's out of NOWHERE?! 😂
Thank you!
Look up jump force character, interaction with each other
Kaiba, Toshiro, shoto, grimmjow, hiei and law being in jump force as dlc was a dream to me
Game spoiled the hell out of bleach with Hitsugaya's adult form too 😂
@@darknesswave100 true I read some of the tybw arc but I never saw his adult form it was unexpected for me and I got spoiled from seeing his form lol
Bro got spoiled about ichigo and aizen by jump force
I'm dead
I find it funny how for the bleach characters there’s manga spoilers 😂
This is why many anime games follow the adaptations because following the manga will guarantee spoiling non-manga readers
Who remembers this game
I still play it on and off, it’s truly amazing, single player isn’t so bad 😢
Some of these attacks I've never seen cause the enemy cpu just uses them while you're way out of range
LOL that's unfortunate 😭
If you're interested in saint seiya i recommend watching saint seiya solider's soul all big bang attacks, it's a very nicely design 3D arena fighter
You can still play online matches normally but you just can't be in a online lobby or do ranked matches anymore but also no one can buy the game anymore it's not in stores anymore
Fun fact if you can only play on Night Time stages if you or the opponent play Dio
That's a really nice touch!
Jump Force taunting me with cool looking Bleach characters knowing we'll probably never get a FighterZ style game for Bleach
I was really hoping to see a Saint Seiya FighterZ style game. Or by random chance, Pegasus Seiya becomes a guest character to FighterZ
Yes, we need a really good Bleach game.
I love that idea of having Oda & Kishimoto designing villains too, that would have made a lot of sense for this!
I think they would still hurt everyone because it's not just holograms, it's solid vision so it'll actually hurt when they use a card to attack them
Prometheus, Kane & Moth girl are all OC's created to be the big bads
Other things:
Giorno's final just flat out kills you, if you get hit by it you cannot use that character until the next round
Jump force probably would have survived if they did character reveals like Super Smash Bros did during events
IMAGINE! they really should have done this 😂
The reason they take long is because they’re charging them up
They didn’t show Giorno’s full Muda rush 😭
he screams WRYYY in the middle of it.
It was not 7 pages...
oh also, how the game tackles GER’s ability is that after Giorno uses his ult, the character it was done on is completely locked out for the rest of the round.
It sucks i never got a chance to play this
I think it's absolutely stupid that both this and J-Stars were delisted all because no one plays it online. What about us non-online players? What about those who dont want to spend 80+ dollars a year to play online? I still have my physical copy of this, and J-stars and I still go back to them from time to time just to mess around
so apparently the true reason is due to licensing of all the different properties and having the renew them every so often to keep selling the game
Alot their moveset that is.
well, Kimimaro if from the Kaguya clan so he proably inherited that bone manipulation kekkei genkai from her
20:25 you can.
It’s funny because if you’re only an anime watcher this game spoils a lot for bleach seeing all the transformations and moves since the thousand year blood war hadn’t released yet
RIGHT?! LOL I stopped reaing Bleach before Fullbring Arc finished so beyond stuff I've just happened to see online or from the recent anime I was caught off guard
Everything can be quite cool until they start running 😂
You gotta come back and check some tf2 sfm animations, there are a lot of good and funny ones💪
True, like Fedora Chronicles
Kid 7carus inspiring in saint seiya

@@ChocolateKieran one piece stuff on the warriors game is far the best choreography making, cool and the most baddasses movements ever made, and you can get to know more characters abilities too
Nah you the only one I see who likes the realistic style lol
You're one of few in the comments who said they don't like it. Most people I've seen rocked with it
“It was so damn beautiful”
Ehhhhhhhhhh, maybe for some series… but uh- not most
i thouth logia fruits was can not be touch or hurt by someone without haki
True, I wonder how they explain that was Sabo in the game… good point!
That's not fully true. You can hurt them by catching them off guard or have bb devil fruit or just outright have the stronger version of said devil fruit like with ace them turning into their element to avoid damage isn't automatic
Really hope you end up checking out the Supers in J-Stars Victory Vs. It was the Jump arena fighter before this one. Imo, I think it looks better, not a fan of the realistic style of Jump Force
Yeah at this point I'm thinking of doing it! 😁 I never played J Stars beforehand so I'd like that
Great video you should react to the intro and the ultimate for Jstar Victory versus it's a old game similar to jump force but I prefer the roster
Yeah J Stars Victory Vs is definitely on the list for sure!
