I just prefer the original by far! Never said it wasn't a banger though, I said it doens't bang as hard 😂 Unless I misremembered haha, but you can set songs from the dancing game as battle music in Royal?!
Yes! I typed out a whole comment rambling about this, but it got accidentally deleted, which is probably for the best. TL;DR: some costumes you get with Royal play different songs during battle and it's awesome. Try it out next time you play! My favorites are Starlight Outfit, Dancewear, and New Cinema.

I recommend to just play the game where do you want to start with, as the main titles story didn't relate to each other (except Persona 2, which recommended to play Innocent Sin first then Eternal Punishment). I find that most people admire the very first Persona game they played.
Coolest part about persona 3 portable intro is the right side up is the boy protagonist and what he sees and upside down is what the girl protagonist sees
the girl starting with a K is Kasumi you and sadly you never got to my personal favorite character in royal he appears like after the kamoshida and i was not expecting to see him in that dancing game opening
Modern Persona are basically confirmed to take place within a span of few years don't know how much canonicity there is between them tho persona 3 takes place around about 2009, P4 around 2011 and P5 is mid 2010s The older games are pretty neglected by atlus so we don't really know tho some people say they may take place in same timeline too P.S. oh btw the butterfly is in every Persona
Appreciate that you react from official ATLUS channel, not the compilation that other reactors use. That one is too out of context and came with bad aspect ratio. This is the best way that it should be react to.
My favorite Persona game is Persona 4 Golden. I hope you enjoy all the Persona games! I love Persona 1 and 2 as well, and I think these games will all each give you unique experiences
Chie is my favorite character in the persona series... 2nd place goes to Teddy. He's bloody hillarious. Third goes to Akechi. That guy is... intense in Royal.
What if ryougi from p5 is the that kid with the yellow shirt from p3 strength social link ? The kid was in the 4th grade in p3(2009) and in high school in p5 He also loved track and the teacher in p5 said ryougi dyed his hair yellow which looks like the kids favorite color and ryougi in p5 talks about the p3 high school
Yeah the only ones I've beat are Vanilla 5, 4 Golden and 3 Reload now. But I need to go back and finish Royal, I might pick strikers back up but we shall see
Not saying any more than this as I don't wanna spoil things, but once you go through the earlier games there's a point where you find out more about the butterfly
So the story of persona as a series is interesting Originaly it was Shin Megami Tensei If... Where it took place in essentially the same place as the OG SMT but a few desicions where different with other MCs which lead to another result Then from this the first Persona was made, it was actually in the same place of If..., but once again another MC, BUT, you can find and talk to the If... characters in it, so technically both stories are happening at the same time, but it becomes its own complete series apart from SMT
Huh... you played probably my favorite (P4G), but unless I missed it you missed the P3FES intro, which goes hard... probably my second favorite intro in the series and it actually makes me cry during P3 Reload's Credits.... no lie, literally why I cried like a bitch during the Credits was the P3FES intro.
Yes, Persona 2 is a direct sequel of Persona 1. Persona 3, 4 and 5 change the style, the tone, and they are all standalones, though they drop Easter Eggs about the previous games, as they are all in the same universe. For example, with no spoilers, there's a character from Persona 4 that at some point talks about a concert in a venue from Persona 3 that was cancelled due to a blackout, an event related to Persona 3, and that same character later appears in a poster in Persona 5. Characters from Persona 1 and 2 are also referenced in Persona 3, but as videogame characters, so it's sort of believed that SMT, P1 and P2 are set in one universe (they share characters), and P3, P4 and P5 are in a different one, where SMT and Persona 1 and 2 are videogames. Please, don't reply to this with the name of the character, if you played the games you know who it is. If you are going to play through the games, and you don't intend on going through each version in existence, story-wise, just do Persona 3 Reload (and watch the epilogue from FES on YT, explained below), Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal. Of course, after you are done with 1 and 2 (that are actually three games: "Revelations: Persona", "Persona 2: Innocent Sin", and "Persona 2: Eternal Punishment"). You will feel a bit of a dip in QoL, gameplay and graphics from P3 to P4, but that's because Reload was overhauled to the Royal standards. Persona 3 has 4 versions: 1. The base version of the game. 2. FES (P3F or P3FES), the mandatory expansion, that adds playtime, several cutscenes, new characters (can only remember one, RN, but I am not sure if there were more), an epilogue called "The Answer", and QoL improvements. 3. Portable (P3P), that added a second main character (giving you the choice of male or female and adapting a bunch of the content based on that choice), and more QoL changes (in P3 and P3F your character, same as your party members, could overexert themselves, and have health issues due to that, and you even needed to pee, for example, P3P removed that micromanaging), but removed all the cutscenes, replaced the 3D world by a 2D one, and also removed the epilogue, as it was released for the PlayStation Portable, so they were limited by the hardware. 4. Reload (P3R) re-adds the cutscenes, updates the graphics engine, re-rendering the whole game, adds a bunch of combat mechanics that didn't exist in previous versions of the games, and of course, same as P4 and P5, its own unique spin to some of them, and revamps the "Persona acquisition/dungeon reward system" to a completely unique one, different from P3, P3FES and P3P, and of course, from P4 and P5. But removes the optional female MC from P3P, and it seems it doesn't have the epilogue from P3F either. So Persona 3 doesn't have a definitive version that includes everything. Persona 3 also had 2 discontinued web-based spinoffs: Persona 3: The Night Before, and Persona Ain Soph. Persona 4 has 2 versions: 1. The base version of the game. 2. Persona 4 Golden (originally Persona 4: The Golden, P4G), originally released for PlayStation Vita, that adds new characters, new dungeon crawling, several QoL improvements and cutscenes, an extra chapter, new endings, etc. It's Persona 4 with extra canon content, making it the definitive version of Persona 4. It also has several spinoffs. 1. An Arcade fighting game, Persona 4 Arena (originally Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena, P4A), later ported to consoles and recently to PC, that includes the characters from Persona 3, but ignores the characters and events from Golden. And its direct sequel, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, that adds the characters of Golden. 2. Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth, released on Nintendo 3DS, again crossing over characters from Persona 3 and Persona 4. And its sequel, Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth, that also includes the characters from Persona 5. 3. Persona 4: Dancing All Night, a rhythm game with all the characters of Persona 4 Golden. And it also got 2 follow-ups, Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight, and Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight, featuring the casts of the respective games. Persona 5 has 2 versions: 1. The base version of the game. 2. Persona 5 Royal (originally Persona 5: The Royal, P5R), a PS4 release, that same as P4G added new characters, an extra chapter, several QoL improvements, new cutscenes, new endings, etc. Again, a definitive version. As for spinoffs, Persona 5 Strikers (P5S, Switch and PS4) follows the events of Persona 5 (ignoring Royal) in a Dynasty Warriors-ish style gameplay, and last year's Persona 5 Tactica (P5T, all platforms), a TRPG/SRPG following the cast from Persona 5 Royal

They are actually in the same universe. The game in Persona 3 was just a reference to Persona 2 that have the same title. Just for example, in Persona 3, if you check the TV, they have a show that reference some of the previous Persona characters. Atlus did the same for the latter games, but in a different way.
Yeah, all games are full of little Easter eggs here and there, that's why I even mentioned this character from P4 that tells the story of an event from P3 she took part in, and appears in a poster in P5. That alone guarantees P3, P4 and P5 are in the same universe, there's a character crossing all three games. P1 and P2 are referenced here and there, but I don't recall anything saying "this event or character of P1/P2 did actually happen in this universe" or "here, sitting at this café in P5, you can find X character from P1", and I do recall one referring to them as a fictional piece, a videogame. SMT and P1/P2 are definitely in the same universe as well, as you have character crossovers. Same goes for P3/P4/P5. Is there anything that factually connects SMT/P1/P2 and P3/P4/P5 beyond little winks, like a character or an in-universe event? I'm not saying there's not, just that I don't recall one, that's why I ask

I think the closest was in P3, where at some point in the game it mentions that one of your party members company group was originally a part of the P1 character's company group. If you count a DLC, then in P5 where you can change outfit, which if you talk to each party members, they will comment about the outfit. And yes, some even mentions the places and events that happens in the previous games.
Ok, I like the 1st one you mentioned. I remember that, and that's a clear connection. MMORPG social link made me think they weren't, it's always MMORPG's fault. The outfits one is just an Easter egg, though, it's not part of the story. It's the same as being able to use P5 costumes in P3 Reload, when those costumes canonically wouldn't exist until years later. But the one about the company makes them definitely part of the same universe. Thank you for telling me of it. -Unrelated, but this just came into my mind while thinking of the ties among the games, but now that the three standalone games have been revitalized, wouldn't it be amazing to get a Persona 6 where you can play as Makoto, Yu, and/or Ren? Maybe in a GTA V style (so it doesn't end up being three whole unique routes), where you jump characters to perform different activities.- EDIT: Oh, fuck, no, I just remember the ending of P3, you can't xD
I'm not meant to spoil you, just to say. Kasumi is key on the DLC's plot. Just so you fon't miss any of the DLC content, try to max out Maruki's confidant before 11/18, prior to sending the Casino Palace Calling Card.
Visually, id say the best opening is either persona 3 dancing, persona 5 dancing, persona 5 royal, or persona 3 reloaded. But song wise, my favorite is a tough choice between any of the persona 5 openings apart from maybe tactica
Does anybody know if P3R is going to have an enhanced version? Similar to p4 with golden, p3 with fes and p5 with royal? Just curious if I should buy now or wait.
atlus has said that they won’t make an enhanced version. stuff like the answer is 100% going to be dlc, both a leaker and a list of future dlc in reload’s files has confirmed it.
Depending on your tolerance for FOMO, there is something to waiting for the inevitable story dlc that was leaked and see if the game will also go on sale when that happens. As of right now, $70 plus another $20-$30 for an epilogue story dlc is pretty high after all. I myself am also debating it given that Reaload looks good but doesn't include all of the original P3 anthology content
I don't know how much this should be taken as a grain of salt. But I BELIEVE i remember them stating in articles/interviews that stuff like The Answer and what not wasn't going to be implemented at all, idk if thats actually true. I also saw stuff more recently of people saying that now that P3R released it's going to be full focus on P6 for the Persona team, as their new IP Metaphor Refantazio is being worked on by a new team I believe. But I honestly don't see an "Enhanced" version for P3R since well, this is basically already the enhanced version of the originals. But maybe "The Answer" DLC???? In regards to Metaphor, it seems they're pulling all the stops for it in terms of development teams, likely so it doesn't flop as a new IP, as Shoji Meguro (The big music director behind the more recent Persona games) as well as Lyn (the singer) are working on Metaphor, and Shoji stepped down from the Persona team for this role.
You probably saw by now, but yes, the persona 4 spinoffs are indeed canon! Arena and Dancing You even visit where Persona 3 took place if you got that far Labrys is a character introduced in Persona 4 Arena she’s another shadow suppression unit who was kept in isolation due to malfunction
The butterfly thing from the very first intro is poorly translated. It comes from a 4th century BC poem by Zuangzi (Pronounced kinda like Souji in Japanese): “Once upon a time, I dreamt I was a butterfly, fluttering hither and thither, to all intents and purposes a butterfly. I was conscious only of my happiness as a butterfly, unaware that I was myself. Soon I awaked, and there I was, veritably myself again. Now I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly, dreaming I am a man. Between a man and a butterfly there is necessarily a distinction. The transition is called the transformation of material things." The basic philosophy is that there is no distinction between a dream and reality to the mind of a person, so you are what you believe yourself to be in the state you currently exist.
If you want to know where Persona came from, it is a spinoff from Shin Megami Tensei and has its origins in a Super Nintendo game called "Shin Megami Tensei: If..." that was never released in America. SMT If... is basically a regular SMT game, but with a school setting and school kids as characters. Demon stuff happens, everyone goes through some stuff. Very basic story. Persona Revelations was a minor evolution of If...'s formula, and did well enough in Japan to see an American release on the PS1 where it was ABSOLUTELY BUTCHERED by the localization team. They tried to Americanize it and remove all references to Japan and Japanese culture, even going to far as to change character's races and names. Persona 2 is a 2 part game, Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment. the first part was NOT released in America because one of the major bad guys is an angry German man with a funny mustache and his army with double lightning bolt insignias.

The amount of things wanna say for the P4AU trailer but I have to keep it to myself man.
Love to see it
My guy 💪🏾
Also arena has mitsuru, akihko, and aigis from 3 is why they are there. They all are in same world. Ultimax added junpei and yukari
korumaru summons his persona with a shock collar its pretty much the dog equivalent to a gun
Y’know what, I didn’t think about it that way, but true!
@ChocolateKieran a shock generates almost the same amount of pain as a gunshot wound and pain is the trigger for summoning a persona in 3 so it makes sense
Btw not saying it as a spoiler but to get the other secret palace you have to max out the councilor confident you know when you done it right when akechi appears at the end of the game where joker gets taken into interrogation again but akechi stops that from happening and takes jokers place also the game would still continue on New Year’s Day on the calander
Philemon be like: 🦋
24:05
There's a Canon explanation as to why he's not there
Yeah I played and finished 3 Reload and now I know LOL
I wish I knew for sure wut Aigis's "headphones" were. I always assumed they were coolant fans
After seeing her Theurgy I’m sure you’re right!
Your not wrong, considering her gimmick in both versions of the game
Been playing Persona 3 Reload since launch and safe to say it is probably my new favorite Persona game. (Used to be P4G)
I do like p4 but it’s dated, overall it’s worse than p5 and reload I’m not sure yet
@@poffy02 worse than 5 is a little crazy. 5 is great but p4g is amazing imo
@Eclipse_NT I love P5 but P4G is mainly nostalgia for me haha
@Eclipse_NT disagree but sure
Good to meet a fellow Chie fan. She's also my favourite character from P4.
Junpei did have a soul patch in the original P3. Can't believe they shaved Da Man in Reload
27:40 same. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU SHOOT YOURSELF?!?!?!"
Should have snuck in the copyright free edition of P3R opening there at the end. Fuuka in the hamster ball made my sides go into orbit.
Persona is flippin Crazzzzzyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
P4G is my absolute favorite but you can really not go wrong with any of them tbf
On personal 4 ultimax, he ask where the protag of P3?
Me: well.....
The blue chair in the p4 opening in fact does not make sense because in p4, the velvet room is a car 😂
You can really tell the exact point in time Hashino started development on Persona
all I'm gonna say is the shreer DRIP the games have both artstyle and music is insane
32:35 "This song-"
Me: already nodding enthusiastically
"doesn't bang as hard as some of the other ones from Persona 5"
Me: shocked, appalled, distraught even
Look, everyone is entitled to their music taste. But I spent upwards of 300 hours playing Persona 5 Royal specifically with that song set as the battle music. It's my favorite battle track of them all. I'm astounded that it can be considered anywhere in the realm of 'not a banger'
@@stygian6642 Ahhhh that's dope! Is New Cinema Persona Q stuff?! Gonna do a playthrough of Royal next year since it's the only modern persona I haven't finished at this point! But focusing on beating Metaphor first!
Love the strikers opening
Strikers is such a surprisingly good spinoff. Gameplay was fun, new characters were great, soundtrack slapped hard, story did things like "not ignoring Haru" that I really like.
I recommend to just play the game where do you want to start with, as the main titles story didn't relate to each other (except Persona 2, which recommended to play Innocent Sin first then Eternal Punishment).
I find that most people admire the very first Persona game they played.
Persona 3 FES is probably what you were thinking of since that me has the Burn your dread op with lotus Juice going ham on the lyrics
you missed some openings: P2 Eternal Punishment (PSP); P3FES, P4arena (you only watched the OP of the second arena game)
very random but love that you had xenoblade music in the background, another goated JRPG series
Let’s go!!! You’re a real one 💪🏾
Coolest part about persona 3 portable intro is the right side up is the boy protagonist and what he sees and upside down is what the girl protagonist sees
Lots of new people becoming interested in the Persona series
I’m not new to Persona LOL
@@ChocolateKieran didn't necessarily refer to you, but I have seen lots of people reacting to the Persona openings recently
''Bro dancin' like a minion'' made me laugh so damn hard xD This had no right to be that funny xD
By every game does this include 1, 2 IS and 2 EP? I really hope so since I love the oldsona games
the girl starting with a K is Kasumi you and sadly you never got to my personal favorite character in royal he appears like after the kamoshida and i was not expecting to see him in that dancing game opening
Dream of Butterfly from P1 PSP is such a bop, hands down.
This guy really is a persona fan. Only finished the og 5 and "loves" all the other games 😂😂😂
Wdym?
Inccorect, he even played OG P5. True fans only start the game then watch a playthrough of the rest.
Modern Persona are basically confirmed to take place within a span of few years don't know how much canonicity there is between them tho
persona 3 takes place around about 2009, P4 around 2011 and P5 is mid 2010s
The older games are pretty neglected by atlus so we don't really know tho some people say they may take place in same timeline too
P.S. oh btw the butterfly is in every Persona
there is literally a calendar in p3-4-5 bruh. P1 is 1996, P2 is 1999, P3 is 2009, P4 is 2011, and P5 is 2016
@@digitaldevilarts2589 my bad I though P3 P4 was earlier
Appreciate that you react from official ATLUS channel, not the compilation that other reactors use. That one is too out of context and came with bad aspect ratio. This is the best way that it should be react to.
My favorite Persona game is Persona 4 Golden. I hope you enjoy all the Persona games! I love Persona 1 and 2 as well, and I think these games will all each give you unique experiences
I’m so happy you like this art on Q every person that I see react to the chibi they always say they don’t like it
Just when you continue royal make sure you complete the councilor confident (you only need to get it to rank 9 the last rank will happen on its own)
15:42 ahhh yes. Ages my favorite robot persona character
In all fairness, that actually is how you pronounce Aegis. "Eye-giss" is specifically a P3 pronunciation .
We need an Isekai Quartet-ish anime of the Persona Q spinoffs. Like, a school crossover. That'd be so wholesome and funny.
Chie is my favorite character in the persona series... 2nd place goes to Teddy. He's bloody hillarious. Third goes to Akechi. That guy is... intense in Royal.
What if ryougi from p5 is the that kid with the yellow shirt from p3 strength social link ?
The kid was in the 4th grade in p3(2009) and in high school in p5
He also loved track and the teacher in p5 said ryougi dyed his hair yellow which looks like the kids favorite color and ryougi in p5 talks about the p3 high school
-where da persona 3 protag?
me: sadge
now you can play them all
Yeah, that’s the plan
PQ2 intro has all singers from P3 to P5
42:30 HE SAID THE THING HE SAID THE THING
they shoehorned Get Up Get Out There into persona 5 dancing so hard and completely ruined it lmao
36:34 Her name is Ribbon-chan, anyone who says otherwise is wrong
You know he hasn’t played a Persona 3 game when you hear him pronouncing Aigis as “ee-jus” instead of “I-Gus”
LOL I thought ti was meant to be like the legendary shield! I finished Reload now though, incredible game
lol its so funny that seemingly half the games you started and then did not finish
Yeah the only ones I've beat are Vanilla 5, 4 Golden and 3 Reload now. But I need to go back and finish Royal, I might pick strikers back up but we shall see
Its funny on how you're so clueless about all these references lol nice video mans
One of my favorite openings is Persona 2 Eternal Punishment PSP.
24:05 “Where the protag at?”
Bread too burnt.
@@jesterjaded73 He stayed behind to make toast but keeps burning it with Orpheus
Not saying any more than this as I don't wanna spoil things, but once you go through the earlier games there's a point where you find out more about the butterfly
1:09 butterfly dream, Zhang Zhou
So the story of persona as a series is interesting
Originaly it was Shin Megami Tensei If...
Where it took place in essentially the same place as the OG SMT but a few desicions where different with other MCs which lead to another result
Then from this the first Persona was made, it was actually in the same place of If..., but once again another MC, BUT, you can find and talk to the If... characters in it, so technically both stories are happening at the same time, but it becomes its own complete series apart from SMT
my husband is so important he even made it into the persona 4 opening
Huh... you played probably my favorite (P4G), but unless I missed it you missed the P3FES intro, which goes hard... probably my second favorite intro in the series and it actually makes me cry during P3 Reload's Credits.... no lie, literally why I cried like a bitch during the Credits was the P3FES intro.
Maybe in a GTA V style (so it doesn't end up being three whole unique routes), where you jump characters to perform different activities.-
EDIT: Oh, fuck, no, I just remember the ending of P3, you can't xD
I dont think it will. Apparently the Answer content is gonna be dlc so no rerelease i think.
atlus has said that they won’t make an enhanced version. stuff like the answer is 100% going to be dlc, both a leaker and a list of future dlc in reload’s files has confirmed it.
@@Soulfernop3r includes pretty much everything vanilla p3 had + aspects from fes and portable + more stuff
The cool thing about Persona 3 reload is you can make your psp upside down to see the female version
You probably saw by now, but yes, the persona 4 spinoffs are indeed canon! Arena and Dancing
You even visit where Persona 3 took place if you got that far
Labrys is a character introduced in Persona 4 Arena she’s another shadow suppression unit who was kept in isolation due to malfunction
I could get hehind an Isekai Quartet-ish type of anime with P3, 4 and 5's characters.
The butterfly thing from the very first intro is poorly translated. It comes from a 4th century BC poem by Zuangzi (Pronounced kinda like Souji in Japanese):
“Once upon a time, I dreamt I was a butterfly, fluttering hither and thither, to all intents and purposes a butterfly. The transition is called the transformation of material things."
The basic philosophy is that there is no distinction between a dream and reality to the mind of a person, so you are what you believe yourself to be in the state you currently exist.
Persona 1 PSP is Beautiful, I recommend it for any fan of SMT and Persona
im pretty sure its like the main charecter has difrent personaletys or personas for short with difrent people or like social thing
