  • The Metaphor: ReFantazio “ATLUS Exclusive” livestream gave us a ton of information to sift through about Atlus' new title. This showcase gave us a lot of information about what we already know about the world of Metaphor and it's characters. I think it's safe to say that Hashino and the rest of Studio Zero are taking full advantage of their opportunity to do something incredible with Metaphor and this showcase feels like it will be the first true step in the hype cycle for this game. Whether it is Evangelion, NieR: Automata, or obviously Persona, the influences on this title from absolute masterpieces cannot be understated and with all of the information about the Combat System, Gauntlet Runners, Louis, and traveling through the United Kingdom of Euchronia that came out in todays showcase I wanted to very specifically look at 'The King's Trial' trailer together, to see what we can deduce based on the information we already have and the information that the Atlus Exclusive Showcase revealed to us.

What was your favorite reveal from the showcase?

I liked learning more about the Gauntlet Runner and the journey/travel system. Long term travel by way of vehicle in most games that have it is rarely ever if at all conveyed in such an immersive way. I just love that Atlus is aiming to put so much attention to detail into basically every aspect of Metaphor. Most devs aren’t going to humble brag about having a washing machine in their game, but it works so well here! 😆

Something that just came to me is that Lewis might be a metaphor of Lucifer. He is charming, prideful and dashing. Given the game is based on religious themes and Lewis kills the king I feel that could be a nice twist.

This is genuinely such a cool and honestly a pretty realistic theory.

The Akademeia guy's name is More btw, you can see it when they walk past him near the fountain during the showcase stream

Also I like the idea that even the summoning of archetypes is tied to the metaphorical phrase "Eat your heart out"

If I remember correctly, I think the director stated in their breakdown that the gauntlet runners were designed by the person that worked on Neon Genesis Evangelion so it is totally possible that they have organics and mechanical devices powering it too

Great breakdown. I am impressed by your knowledge of all the lore at this point given we are still 6 months out.

Thanks so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’ve done a couple other videos on Metaphor that I had to do a fair amount of research on and it looks like I held onto some stuff!

Wow fantastic analysis!! There's so much I missed that you pointed out. The coolest thing is the Acedeimia guy who's like the Velvet Room attendant. I've seen him in the last few trailers and I knew he'd be an important character. Do you think he may also be thr "scheming man" who talks with us at the beginning as we name our character?

Thank you so much! I really appreciate that! And I feel very confident that he’s the Scheming Man. There’s more to More (someone else pointed out that’s his name) than meets the eye!

I feel like the followers you reach max rank with will join you and become party members. The box art displays several characters that we've seen interact with the protagonist in the party or on the gauntlet runner (you can see the tie of the were wolf looking guy in the cutsence that you used as an example), so they're probably all important in some way.
The party menu seems to have room for 3 more party members so we either can only recruit 3 of our 7 (according to the box art) bonds or you can recruit everyone and they're just in reserve and can be swapped out for the 6 that can be taken into dungeons and wastelands. 3 of the 6 will probobly work as a reserve party if true.

I could totally see it being like a Xenoblade 3-Esque system!

24:15 I get Yu Narukami vibes from P4. And that Beige jacket sometimes looks yellow in some cutscenes, which makes it even more like Persona 4. Game looks awesome, cant wait for the demo they mentioned coming this summer. The guys behind persona 3, 4 and 5 making a fantasy rpg without a school setting but keeping social links and calender dates? if this formula works, I want to see more of it- a sci-fi persona like game etc

I could totally see Metaphor becoming an Anthology series that explores different genres which I think would be AWESOME.

Unlike with the Wild Card users, all of the party members can have different Archetypes. So what does this mean? Is there a deeper meaning for why everyone can use different Archetypes?

    • @ThoughtBubbleYT
      @ThoughtBubbleYT  Месяц назад +4

When you create bonds with new followers you will learn to be able to use new Archetypes based on that follower.
For instance you likely learn the Knight Archetype from Hulkenberg or the Brawler from Katherine however once you develop an image of what this Archetype should look like it appears as though the whole party can use it!
Archetypes seem to be based on each individual and their personalities and I would be willing to bet that you can strengthen these archetypes not only with A-EXP but also by deepening these bonds.

It is going to be so funny if Lewis turns out to be your favorite character somehow when the game comes out lol
But yeah he seems like the actual worst guy ever haha
