    It is very difficult to see oneself objectively, the way one learns to see and depict visible reality as an artist with academic training. A self-portrait is not only an exercise in skill but also in one's ability to shed the ego that blinds perception. Lovely presentation.

    I think it is reactionary. Since women were always seen as muses, or objects, I like that she presents herself as an artist focused on her work. Her skill as a painter makes the title justified.

    All through my life as an artist I have been painting sculpting or drawing several self portraits, starting around 50 years ago.
