  • This video demonstrates how to remove and replace your coolant thermostat gasket. If you want to replace your coolant thermostat as well, this video shows you how. Here is a link for a new housing: amzn.to/3zAWPVW
    Link to a new gasket: www.autozone.com/cooling-heat...
    Our mustang was leaking coolant from the thermostat housing, causing our belts to squeak. We replaced the gasket and no more leaks appeared.

    Watched the video, went to the garage, grabbed an 8mm, a 10mm, and a common screwdriver. Thermostat changed in minutes. Thank you!

    My 3 bolts to my thermostat housing just keep spinning around, and now they won't tighten back up. I put it back together and I hope it doesn't leak. Any suggestions?

    When you unplug the connectors, do you reccomend unplugging the battery?

  • @Dalhax
    @Dalhax 19 дней назад

    Hello, at 0:48, you disconnected the clip and accidentally touched a black molded hose with 2 hose clamps on each end. It's also a component of the cooling system. I would really like to know the part number of that or the size to find a replacement for my car. It's a short heater hose piece (about 3 inches)

    Quick question, did you drain any of the coolant before taking the thermostat off ?

    • @rockyrel187
      @rockyrel187 Год назад +1

      Just be careful taking off the hose itself, it'll drain alot of coolant on your belt if you don't have a rag or handy bucket to catch it with

    Hi, my 2007 v6 mustang has been leaking antifreeze from there lately. I have filled it up but lately I feel that when I stop at a traffic light it smells a lot of antifreeze and I feel that it is very hot, I am afraid that the engine will overheat but my temperature needle never goes above half, when I scan it the temperature remains at 110 degrees and turn on fans, what is the temperature that should turn on the fans? Changing that leak will fix that problem?

    • @MartinsUsedCarsCollectiblesLLC
      @MartinsUsedCarsCollectiblesLLC  Год назад

      If the thermostat is leaking, I would suggest either a new gasket or a new housing with the thermostat included. Both are available to purchase at your local auto parts store.

    Would this cause the coolant/radiator reservoir to boil and belt to squeak?my car isn't overheating temp gauge is fine.

    • @MartinsUsedCarsCollectiblesLLC
      @MartinsUsedCarsCollectiblesLLC  2 года назад +1

      If this is the problem, it will overheat eventually. We had a Mustang overheat recently with this problem. Also, check your radiator for holes and make sure the fan turns on when the A/C is running. Those things can also cause the reservoir to boil.

    Yo that gasket is a bit too big don’t you think? Anyway . Everything went wrong lol I over tightened the screw now it spins loose and isn’t sealed . Leaks more than before . Ffffffff -_- but it’s fine there’s coolant sitting behind over the block I want to remove the bottom piece aswell to get my hand back there and clean that off.

      I would suggest replacing the entire thermostat housing. That should eliminate any leaks. Here is a link to Amazon for a thermostat housing:
