- Making a delicious dinner is all about planning, Check what you have in your pantry and then head to the market to get what you might need to go with what you have .Its that simple.
This rice and mushrooms with vegetables stir fry or sauté follows that route for this sumptuous weeknight dinner or lunch.
INGREDIENTS
2 Tbs Grapeseed oil
8oz Whole white mushrooms, wiped and then sliced
8oz Whole Baby Bella mushrooms, wiped and then sliced '
1Tbs Garlic, chopped
1 Tbs Ginger, minced
1/2 Yellow bell pepper, deseeded , sliced
1/2 Red bell pepper, deseeded, sliced
1 cup Green beans, picked and in halves
Salt and pepper to taste
For the sauce
1 Tbs Soy sauce
1Tsp Rice wine vinegar
1/2 Tsp Chili paste ( hot sauce or chili flakes work too )
2 Tbs Ketchup
1/2 Tsp brown sugar or honey
3 Scallions, chopped for finishing and garnish

I am 82 now and am learning to cook for myself. Stir fry is a good idea since it all is cooked in a wok then then is easy to clean. I have studied Japanese, Chinese and American style. Each is a bit different. I like your suace quite a lot. When I try it next as a morning dish I iwll cook some egg Japanese style which then goeds over the top of the rice and veggies with the the sauce added last. I have no idea if this is a good idea. The main thing is that I an eating well and having fun. Thanks for good videos.

Edit: I forgot to update but I made it and my Mum absolutely loved it and I'm glad she showed me this video so I could try this recipe.

I love stir fry and what's great is you can use so many combinations of vegetables. It's nice to just have a vegetarian dish once in a while . I use everything you did for the sauce but never thought of ketchup! Definitely going to do this on my next stir fry. Thank you for the recipe 😘

I've always wanted to ask an expert like you: does the color of the bell pepper really matter that much? Green bells are the least expensive. They're so mild in flavor, it's hard to believe that yellow or red would really change the flavor that much. Do recipes call for green/red for their appetizing appearance only?
The coloured peppers have a more sweeter taste and they also look good in food
