- Blackmagic Design’s Cinema Camera 6K is the company’s first full-frame model, offering the benefits of shallow depth of field and good low-light capability. It comes with powerful features for filmmakers, like RAW video capture, great image monitoring tools and high-quality audio. However, it doesn’t have niceties like autofocus or in-camera stabilization, so it’s not ideal for content creators.

Bit disappointed in this review, not only does your sample footage look very amateurish (e.g. shaky, noisy, and wrong colour balance), but there's some mistakes in there too. You say it has mini-BNC ports for audio, but those are mini-XLR, and you can edit BRAW natively in Premiere, no transcoding required.
Also you say it has "no noticeable overheating except on hot days" - does that mean you've noticed it overheating on hot days? That's a major concern for professional shooters if so.
Agreed. The first clue to the lack of professionalism in this review is that he’s operating a non-weather proofed camera in the rain. Also, there’s no mention of the low light noise issues plaguing this camera. I went through two copies and returned both due to banding and cmos smear issues. CineD’s test reveal that 3200 iso is so noisy that it’s approaching unusability….
@stupidoldevan - thank for helping prove my theory that the only fan bois that piss and moan more then wakeboard boat owners are photographers/videographers.
He showed sharky footage to show how it can be stabilized in the post. The rest of the footage looks good to me for the review.
The camera is not... to my knowledge... water proof.

I don't think it's even weather sealed either.
It’s waterproof at your own discretion lol. I’ve shot with it in the rain and the worst thing that happens is that if the screen is flipped out and is taking the rain on the screen then it messes with the controls, like I can’t just touch the ISO button or Aperture because of the rain drops, kinda like when your iPhone has splashes on the screen it kinda bugs out. But if you didn’t need to touch the screen and you have your shot it’s not like it’s gonna electrocute you or shut off, or act weird the next day. It’s not a fragile camera when it comes to rain and snow which I’ve shot with it in both conditions.

Blackmagic should make an EF-L AF converter with ND filters :D
This camera is NOT for a novice.
Which one is better between this one and Panasonic Lumix S5x?
Depends on your needs, if you rely on autofocus the Lumix is the better option but if you prefer manual focus you will get more detail in the image from the Blackmagic. I recently bought the Blackmagic but I also have the original S5 from Panasonic Lumix. Which one I use depends on the project.

This has a noticeable better image quality and colors but the x has more functionality
I hope they do a 6K Pro II that just adds that full-frame sensor while keeping everything else the same (including not switching to L-mount).
Why no ProRes? That just seems odd. Is it a licensing problem?
I have bmpcc6k pro and it has prores
I have the first gen Pocket 6K and I've moved away from ProRes completely. The 12:1 Raw actually uses less space and I think it colors better. Also, BRAW works fine in Premiere.

This was a poorly researched video and the fact that you don’t know that BRAW can be used with both Avid and Premiere without transcoding makes you sound like you know less about cameras than the average content creator.
You looked at a camera with the word CINEMA in the title and your big takeaway was that it wasn’t great for vlogging?

Not really impressed there is no ibis and you can get a Panasonic s5iix that has 6k and can do raw and has stabilisation and cost less
It also doesn't shoot raw footage or have an OLPF.

Professionals without a large budget. It produces incredible images for the money.
