I'm absolutely thrilled this interview is only the first in a series, can't wait for more. I was hanging on every word. I'm so grateful to Mr. Aalto & for sharing this with us.
Great interview Rick, probably your best yet. Harri has managed to stir something inside me that overtakes the single belief I had regarding oneness, or none duality. I was of the belief that intellectually anyway, there is only the one. I am so excited at the thought of further interviews with this incredible man. Clearly by the way he expresses with such conviction far more than this belief. I somehow "know" myself that he is a vital part of the great awakening that is clearly happening. A beautiful man indeed.
What a beautiful man Harri is - I so enjoyed his beautiful way of being and the transmission that poured through the computer screen. Thank you Rick for sharing this guest with us and thank you Harri. xxx
I am glad Harri mentioned about the light exploding out of the top of the head, I had a very similar experience and so have many other yogis/mystics like Gopi Krishna etc.. This was a great talk, very detailed and well presented. Good job Rick and Harri!
Once you have the experience of the unity and comprehend the infinity in someway, wether it be visceral or cognitive it's hard to disregard or invalidate any particular experience. This is an amazing interview and thank you Rick. What seva you are doing!
Thanks, Rick, this was wonderful. Please bring Harri back as often as possible. We can't get enough of him:) But we, many of us, had enough of the self-deluded selling their shoddy wares in the spiritual market place to gullible or desperate people.
i think this guy makes more sense than anybody you have ever had on your show. maybe it is because i have had similar experiences through out my life. ive asked many people about my experiences but nobody has really knew or even tryed to answer me. This guy has in part answered. great interview rick.
I just have to tell you,I love your show , you have really opened my world thank you so much, I have watched Harry Aaltos(hope I spelled that correctly) interviews a couple times each,I just love his energy and character, so tonight it's raining out and I felt like just being comfy and at home, ands the thought was ill hang out with Rick and Harry,I hope that doesn't sound to weird, but I got a chuckle out of it and thought you might too:) much love guys
such an blessing...an real blessing...........thank you......i can feel heaps of clutter can and will drop out of me after this.......................blessings....each and both and all.....elanra
A real man !!! Congratulations Rick for so stubbornly inviting this guest ! *Now* *please* drop all the booksellers and website self promoters and goofballs and bigmouths and new agers from your list and make 100 shows only with this guy or the likes of Francis Bennett or Michael Baxter (real people and not sales types !), and your show will improve greatly ! Quality, not quantity !!! P.S.: I don't share the optimism with regards to the human future with this guest, but maybe he sees something I don't.
Yeah how convincing: insult in lack of good reasoning. Thanks for revealing your state of mind ! And as the Buddha said: _"Whatever the guest doesn't eat is for the host himself"_ or some such.
It is a great interview. it is always nice when you can hear someone talking your own language. It get so tiresome having to go back to square one when having a conversation with someone. Reality is relative. Make love your closest relative.
The road map Rick wishes for at 53:00 exists. This magnificent interview, one of the best I have heard, would benefit from Ken Wilber's Integral map, often referred to as AQUAL. Distinguishing sates from stages alone would have brought a greater clarity to the interview. Deepest gratitude for all the interviews, but this one in particular is outstanding.
Funny synchronicity Rick ... Just as you talk of 'bugging' Harri about doing an interview, a bug traverses the wall beneath the picture frame. Thankfully it disappears into your ear, otherwise it would have driven viewers to distraction ;-)
Rick Archer It's not in your ear. Check the back of your head. I listened to this interview on audio podcast and wondered if you still Skyped the home town interview. Then Francis B posted a link on facebook and I get to see the cozy one on one with guest bug in background. Love it.
Having just come back from a pretty intense yoga (exercise) class, I'm wondering how Harri, and Rick or anyone else for that matter, deals with challenging or demanding new experiences. I'm a 50-year-old newbie to yoga and it is kicking my ass. My consciousness is in a pretty good place while I'm publicly demonstrating how out of shape this body is, no ego attachment, etc. But that doesn't seem to help me perform any better or learn more quickly. I guess I'm more or less approaching it as a sadhana, for lack of any better mindset, and figure that it will simply get better with practice. But I am wondering: Would someone in Harri's position respond differently? How does a highly realized being deal with completely new challenges for which their karmic body is unprepared? Is equanimity, patience and endurance the best that we can hope for? If so, that's fine. I'm just curious. No one ever talks about great sages experimenting with new tasks. The popular imagination just kinda assumes that they're good at everything...
Using the movie screen anology, non-dualists tend to emphasise the screen, and turn away from, or disregard the images moving across the screen. It seems to me that Harri is constantly aware of the screen (he states), but is also very interested in the images moving across the screen; which is to be expected given those images are so other-wordly!, or not of the hum-drum nature that most endure 24/7. That said, neither is right or wrong. Rather what is being given attention differs. Harri, the screen and the moving pictures. Non-dualists, prefer the screen only.
When people talk about “realisation” being an ongoing process, an evolving process, I would say that what’s going on there is what’s in the way, or obscuring “pure consciousness”, is increasingly getting out of the way. So when people claim their “realisation” is complete, they are saying that it is no longer obscured. Another perspective; it is said that the substratum does not change, it is always. Hence, “evolution” cannot be applied to it.
He practices Transcendental Meditation as taught by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. I used to practice it, but now practice a variation, as I'm using a mantra given me by Amma (amma.org), but I'm using it TM-style.
It felt like a university setting and Harri a professor, very mechanistic, which is fine but he repeatedly denies his approach as intellectual. I didn't perceive him as peaceful but somewhat choppy and uneasy. He spoke of love but denied acts of love.ie.. 'never hugging'Almost embarrassed to love. Trying to reconcile the apparent dichotomy between what he spoke and what I saw. I am sure Harri could explain it away but for me explanations are empty without the power of presence. Was something missing or is it me. ? I write this with respect. ..
not for going to sleep at night! woke me up! woke my body up, my soul is, in my opinion, a long way from enlightenment on the Hawkins scale, at its best. Is Haari Aalto 990 on David R Hawkins scale? Kristin Kirk 850? David Alsobrook 800? Francis Bennett about 800? Igor Kufayev about 805? I have heard about 205 of the 225 batgap.com interviews, and these six are in the top 12 as to Awakening, in my opinion. And is Aalto the clearest and most concise accurate teacher on the planet? As all the above have a finite amount of audio and video available, I'd really like to know of anyone else in their class? Humbly, as I am quite sure I am MUCH less awake than all 225 guests. ditto to all the other favorable comments. richburrill@yahoo.com

Great voice, great sharing...please continue...HE IS FOR REAL!!! Thank you both immensely!!!
I'm absolutely thrilled this interview is only the first in a series, can't wait for more. I was hanging on every word. I'm so grateful to Mr. Aalto & for sharing this with us.
Great great! Feels like batgap has moved on from emptiness into fullness again! Hurrah ! Can't wait for the next one.

You must continue the series with Harri. This interview is fantastic!! Thank you.

Great interview, also thanks to Rick as a great questioner! Harri Aalto is unique. Thanks a lot.
One of my favourite interviews. Thanks Rick. Looking forward to the follow-ups.
Thanks, Rick, this was wonderful. Please bring Harri back as often as possible. We can't get enough of him:) But we, many of us, had enough of the self-deluded selling their shoddy wares in the spiritual market place to gullible or desperate people.
This is wonderful. Thank you both for offering this description of your intimate experience.
this was really wonderful, thank you. I am very much looking forward to the next interview

You are a perfect example of name and form.
lol. Long time no write, Rick ! Somehow, youtube commentaries no longer automatically cite the handle of whom one is responding to.
So I see. I was responding to That Brown Shieeet, as you hopefully surmised.
I sure did surmise, hence the lol. The logic of the joke forced the fit ^^
Nice interviews, BTW, between now and when I stopped rating.
It is a great interview. it is always nice when you can hear someone talking your own language. It get so tiresome having to go back to square one when having a conversation with someone. Reality is relative. Make love your closest relative.
Love Love Love Harri! When will number 3 happen?!
Mele222X Sometime later this year. He's writing a book, so we'll time it around that.
three is out
beautiful way of putting "transcendent"...

A great interview with Harri
How interesting. Thanks, guys.
I'll take sumptuous over advaita-babble any day of the week.
Best interview by far
I like he appreciates his "ignorance" and "limitations".
Speaking from experience with no ax to grind. More, please!
Funny synchronicity Rick ... Just as you talk of 'bugging' Harri about doing an interview, a bug traverses the wall beneath the picture frame. Thankfully it disappears into your ear, otherwise it would have driven viewers to distraction ;-)
Yeah. Still trying to get it out of my ear.

beautiful!
This is a great video, one if not my very favourite and I am watching it now for the fourth time. Only problem is how long until the next?
For a self-professed "non-intellectual" to mention "wave function"... I will still listen... :-)
Steve is definitely open!
entertaining and educational jewels

Maybe when he is talking about the "layers" that make up a whole, he is talking about codependent origination?
It is more than interesting to watch a "host" being tutored by a "guest".
how does he meditate? how do you meditate rick?
He practices Transcendental Meditation as taught by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. I used to practice it, but now practice a variation, as I'm using a mantra given me by Amma (amma.org), but I'm using it TM-style.
did he say "individual".. ?
harry may have a blood pressure problem rick. i will ck #3 and see if it is apparent there after these 2 yrs.
