    The 2020 Lexus GS-F isn't great -- but it could be, if you buy it in a few years. Today I'm reviewing the GS-F, and I'm going to show you why it's not so great, and why you'll want to wait to buy one. I'm also showing you all the quirks and features of the GS-F, and I'm going to drive the GS-F to show you what the Lexus GS-F is like on the road.

    As a M5 and C63 owner, all the things Doug mentioned that makes the German cars technologically superior to the GS-F are the exact features that ironically makes them unreliable. Lexus may be very late to the technology party, but I'm certain that Lexus owners don't suffer from anxiety of being stranded on the side of the road due to unreliable tech as some of us BMW and Mercedes owners do ;)

    I’ve had a 2013 GS 350 since 2013. Through 7 years I’ve put over 100,000 miles on mine. I can tell you one bad flaw in this model is that the servo motor for the air conditioning system has broken down three times in 7 years. I was lucky the first 2 times as my car was under warranty till 2018 and it was fixed for free but in January 2020 it broke for the third time and to replace it with labor cost me $1400 US. It’s a very badly designed motor. It’s hidden behind the dashboard, so the company has to literally take apart the entire car from the inside to fix it. According to the dealership it’s a very common issue in this generation of the GS and ES models. Servo motor basically controls the air of the cabin and when it breaks down by default the vents stay open permanently so basically your car does not cool the interior at all. It’s terrible because I live in Dubai and temperatures reach way over 110 degrees Fahrenheit. That’s the only big issue I faced with my car.

    • @rahuldaryanani7292
      @rahuldaryanani7292 3 года назад +2

      @Frankie Basile the heat has been there for years. I have other vehicles as well and they don't face this problem, I have a Honda accord 2014 with over 130,000 miles on it now and it has never given me a problem like my GS has. I know it sucks but that's the reality, luxury doesn't always mean better quality. In fact in my experience luxury cars actually give you more problems over the years because of complex options in them. If you ever owned a Mercedes-Benz or BMW for 5+years, you will definitely face a few hiccups. Regarding the problem in the GS, its an extremely common issue in this generation because of the materials inside the servo motor are 90 percent plastic, countries like Japan and majority of the states in USA don't have extreme heat conditions like dubai. So a company as big as lexus can't customise internal parts for different countries, that will cost them hundreds of millions for changing just the outer shell of a servo motor in an already established production line plus plastic is obviously much cheaper to work with.

He also loved the sound and didn't complain about the power of the same engine in the LC500 but not in this, yet it's virtually the same (10bhp more, same sound). As an AMG and Lexus Owner.... If I'm looking to scare my friends on a ride, I choose the AMG. If I'm going on a road trip and don't feel like worrying about being stranded, I DEFINITELY take the Lexus.

    Doug just looked un-coordinated using RTI. Once you get use to it, you don't even need to look at the screen it's that ergonomic. Yeah the features are lacking but it is still very functional. What most car reviewers also forget is that RTI is not just the mouse/trackpad like controller. It's also the hard buttons on the dash and steering wheels. Once you figure that out, it is very easy to use. I own both the Toyota touch screen and the lexus RTI of course and I can say without any doubt that a touchscreen is more distracting than RTI.

    I have a 16 GS-F that I bought new. I love it and get lots of compliments from strangers. It’s quick enough for me and the interior is beautiful. I bought it mainly because of Toyota’s reliability. I also have a 2002 Sequoia with 116k miles on it and it’s running strong. I traded my 2006 BMW 530i in for my GS-F. Started having issues with that thing.

      That's only because the ES has gotten much more sporty, therefore there's less need for the GS which used to be the "sporty" Lexus. I still like it though.
