The next generation would be spending more time on RUclips or similar platforms. I haven't watch TV programs in years. I hate ads in between movies. Similarly once married the wife will share the responsibility of his household like his Mom did and if she's working she'll help out in the household expenses. But DOWRY is not sharing responsibility. And yes the alimony mostly is Predecided..th at is before marriage... In our nikah marriages we decide a certain amount called mehr. For middle class families it's around a few lakhs. 1/2/3..which is nothing....it doesn't cost him his entire fortune. A very correct representation of our society. My mom refused at least 40 proposals for we 2 sisters. We never gave in to societal pressure of giving heavy dowry to get married. If you find a true man only then you should get married. Our family has been always against dowry for last 60 to 70 years.

But these cases like having 5 star hotel wedding is not comparable to normal temple wedding with food . A very correct representation of our society. My mom refused at least 40 proposals for we 2 sisters. We never gave in to societal pressure of giving heavy dowry to get married. If you find a true man only then you should get married. Our family has been always against dowry for last 60 to 70 years.
