Thanks!
when making the door frame im confused on how you extruded it it wont extrude out its only going up and down left right
@@wolfnighteyes7610 1. Select the door's outer edge polygons. 2. Shift + D to duplicate the edge polygons. 3. E key to extrude (hold shift for finer control) 4. S key to scale. Make sure you don't have an axis lock when extruding or scaling.
here we have a rare species of blenderer who doesn't delete the default cube
Finally someone with full tutorials with detailed art !! More please
Subbed !!
Appreciate it, thanks! 🙏
I've finished the tutorial tired but extremely satisfied with it. The pace is perfect and the way you walk us through every tiny detail of what you're doing is extremely crucial and satisfying. Compared to other yt blender tutorials, you're awesome! Thanks for the baggage of knowledge that i'll carry throughout my life.
A humble thank you! 🙏
How mutch hours?
@@animalibera5733 It took me 2 weeks. I was a TOTAL beginner back then. Did my first texturing through this tutorial. I did half an hour a day or so. So i'd say it took me 10hours. Nowdays i'd do it all in 2 to 3 hours knowing what i was doing.
I can't understand if anybody is giving this much quality and still underrated...
Loved it! Such a cool idea. Learnt so much from it
Dude this was amazing, Thanks. It covered so much.
I don’t even do horror backgrounds but this is so thorough and detailed youre so nice for making this
What an amazing tutorial
Yes!!!!! This is awesome. Can’t wait to add some of my own twists once finals week is over!
You got this!
Very nice tutorial, keep it up.
Tysm bro, u are a lifesafer, and now i understand it much better bro!
This was my first ever blender project, and i cant thank you enough for how helpful this was, the pacing is perfect and the results are amazing so thank you!
Great to hear!
Haven't gotten very far into this tutorial yet, but so far it has been the most helpful tutorial for anything. Even with 0 seconds of blender experience its been fairly easy to follow with few issues, with saying what is happening plus showing the keys and buttons pressed.
Most confusing thing was joining the objects and control B thing which I skipped bc it was confusing
Love it. Thanks a lot, man!
Glad to help!
Sir, many thanks for this absolutly flawless class. Greetings from Brazil
You are very welcome! Glad I could help.
Thanks for your tutorial! the Blender 3.0 Geometry Node Update is sweet and helpful! ❤👏
You're very welcome!
love seeing these type of blender videos, also considering i am making a thriller mystery horror style game, im literally studying this.
Awesome! 👍
Amazing job! I've been learning Blender for about a month and long form tutorial content like this helps a ton. I'm about halfway through, and because there is so much to create in this, it's perfect for beginners. I'm modeling my own fire hydrant and wheel chair so I can get more practice to get faster. Thanks again!
Great to hear!
What level are you now man?
the definition of detail is shown by this dude. honestly good for the beginners to learn but speaking frankly in 3d scene like this we dont need that much detail as it will be not seen.. great tutorial though
OMG Subscribed Immediately!
Thanks. ❤️
While there are certain parts where I couldn't figure out with the textures such as how to get the hand textures into the software for some reason (I looked it up and I can't figure out how to do it with my computer, no biggie) I found the modeling part very helpful and it helped me to organize a lot more. I have been doing 3D for years and I will say that while I may not understand some parts of your process, such as why you didn't use the array modifier (Note: I haven't finished the rest of the tutorial and I may not get to it cause I'm going for a different style). Other than that, this was amazing.
Thanks man
lovecraftian horror element with the tentacles at start!
hey man u r a good person! thanks for the full tutorial and u even add a timestamp in the description thankyou so much!!!!
Glad it helped!
Finally completed it and I am so happy with my result. Thank you sir for teaching in so much detail. Really appreciate the hard work you put in to make this video. Looking forward for more such content with full explanation step by step. Thank you again
hey brother where did find the tentacle part? or did u buy it?
very well done tutorial, personally i would have changed little things (see no offence here) :
1 - I would have used an array to duplicate the blades of the vent on the Z axis, same for the bolts (i would have used many arrays modifiers),
2 - Speaking of the bolts, i would have removed the faces that are at the interior of the door/hinges to prevent blender to make calculations for nothing.
3 - if you have problems selecting things (either, vertices, edges, faces...), press h to hide the object currently selected, then you can select things more easily, then use alt+h to unhide the objects previously hidden.
Apart for these littles details, this tutorial is very complete and well paced, fine for every levels, congratulations, keep on the good work ! :)
best man in youtube for blender i learned so much from u plz put more videos better than other youtubers
Thank you for the kind words.❤️ Currently working on a similar long-form tutorial like this one. ✌️

1:43:51 instead of making every individual material, you can use the random value of an object info node and use a colorramp for the colors, then put that into the base color of your principled bsdf.
I'm starting with blender, and this tutorial helps me a lot to learn functions and everything else, at the beginning it's very difficult, and I could only do 1 hour of tutorial in 4 days xd
Great to hear!
@@polygonartist thanxs
for the one hour mark 01:00:00 if anyone needs to see my geomtry nodes just lmk, its a bit different if your using blender 4.0 but still possible
Yeah could I see your geometry node setup, having a little trouble figuring it out
more, more mooooooooreeee!!!
Man the tutorial Is awesome it help me alot in making a horror Envoirment. i just have one question that how to use point instance node in blender 3.6
Hello ty for the tutorial. Do you thinck this workflow is good for game assets or only for cinematic? a game need more optimisation for the pollycount no?
Amazing tutorial! Quick question: I can't seem to find any of the brushes to create the handprints in GIMP, and it isn't really explained for the best and most efficient ways to create these textures. What do you recommend for this tutorial?
Great question! Gimp can use Photoshop files and brushes. It's just the case of finding Photoshop brushes online and installing them in Gimp. This is the one I used: www.123freebrushes.com/bloody-hand-prints/
Here is a good article on how to install Photoshop brushes in Gimp: www.lifewire.com/use-photoshop-brushes-in-gimp-1701706
I'd also recommend using some grunge and splatter brushes to create variety. Once the brushes are installed in Gimp, you should be able to follow the tutorial.
nice tutorial, whats the point of using displacment in the shaders when it only works with cycles ?
Cool tutorial!)) Why did you use Shift+D instead of Alt+D?
bro how did you add edge loops at both ends ( 1:09 ) I cant do it
I cannot for the life of me figure out the spin tool part for making the handles. Very frustrating. Any help or other lesson suggestions for that
would be great.
when i paint the doors or other objects i cant zoom too close at the obect because of some blender functionality, how can i disable this?
You're probably in perspective view. Press 5 to go into orthographic view.
Hi I'm new to blender and I was wondering how did you get 2 lines when doing the edge loop cause when I do it I only get 1 line?
In object edit mode (TAB key) press CTRL + R and then press the + or - key on keyboard to add or remove edge loops.
@@polygonartist ok thank you
When i add the door texture, it applies but it's all wierd and not flat like yours. It looks more like a rock texture than a metal texture. Please help. I'm using blender 3.2. I've tried adjusting the settings in the shader editor and in the properties panel.I've tried other textures from the website you provided but all of them look very weird.
The best option so far was to delete roughness.png and configure roughness on blender properties panel.
idk why but i cant use the gimp textures i made in blender, when i click open i cant find or see in any way my textures even if i saved them as .png, what amm i doind wrong?
ok I somehow solved it
#frame driver doesn't work for the lights for me
Great video!
Ah I'm so confused. I've got to the wall texturing part and I've applied a marked seam and smart UV. When I open the shader editor and CTRL+SHIFT+T to import the plaster textures with node wrangler I can select all the images but it doesn't create any nodes. Seems to do nothing after selecting the images and clicking principled texture setup.
SOLUTION: Make sure to click on your Principled BSDF node before pressing the CTRL+SHIFT+T shortcuct.
That's correct. It's a PBR texture setup therefore the Pricinpled BDSF needs to be selected when importing textures to assign correct texture maps.
@@polygonartist Thanks man. I really really enjoyed this. I've finished the entire video, just need to add the camera in and I'm donzeo. ✌️ I hope you do more long form tutorials in the future, you're extremely easy to follow and I've learned a lot.
@@Primordial-Ooze i love u bro, thanks for the solutionn
Hello dear friend, thank you for your good video
I started doing this tutorial and encountered a problem, and that was that in the geometry nodes section, the point instance bar is not for me, and I think this is because of the blender program version, which is version 3.
Can you help me because I do not know what to do for a few days🌹🌹
Very good question!
- The Point Distribute node has been replaced by the Distribute Points on Faces node.
- The Point Instance node has been replaced with the Instance on Points node.
There's a short guide that demonstrates how to setup the Geometry node for floor rocks scattering in Blender 3.0 which you can find here: www.polygonartists.com/how-to-make-horror-environment-in-blender/
I hope this helps.
@@polygonartist I was very happy that you answered and I went ahead according to the photos
Only the value part of the word point middle rock does not exist
@@GothicIran 01:03:42. You will have to manually paint the weight paint map. There are two weight maps for the rocks, one is for the edges and the other is for the middle of the floor. Please watch the tutorial step by step to fully understand.
