CAme here after watching your VHS look tutorial & I have to say all your tutorials are god level. Keep up the good work mate & please never stop uploading!
Nice Tutorial! Two things that came to my mind. When doing cloth sims you can choose presets at the top of the simulation settings (button with points and lines) giving yourself a headstart. And as you already have a tracked camera you can model the doorframe, putting it into a collection and set it to "hold out". You are not able to get edge blur with though. good luck.
I´ve discovered you when I was searching and inspiring in tutorials how make realistic VHS look, and I found your tutorial. Best tut I ever seen. Other your videos are super great as well, Im sad I didn´t knew you before it would save me lot of time when creating things! Keep great work, I just hope you didn´t stop!
Quick question I have both the blankets on negative numbers -100 but when I render it starts from 0. Meaning the animation starts as the blanket is falling but I want it to already be on them…
This is great man! Creating different levels of subdivisions on the cloth is such a good idea, I wish I had thought of that when doing cloth sim stuff in the past!
Thanks so much for a great beginning to end tutorial! I’m just starting to get my feet wet with Blender VFX and love seeing what’s possible in it as I work on short film ideas.
i'm obsessed with card opening intro, so i make my own but replicate i think 80% of your style 🤣. also i'm new to blender. great to hear you start upload some blender tutorial.
im having a little bit of trouble, so whenever i try to press setup tracking scene at 2:43 it doesnt let me, the opacity was low which meant it could not be clicked, why??
Damn that looks soo real bro whAAAT. Also when you were getting rid of the reflective tape points can't you just use the camera from blender and make masks and then content aware fill?
I've been on C4D for like 17 years. I'm so close to switching but the whole "learn every button/layout/new names" is a total nightmare to overcome just to get back to where i left off in C4D. The switch could take over a year to get back to full speed. But i'm close to doing it.
hey man the tutorial is great and exactly what i was looking for, I wanted to ask, instead of manually masking in after effects, is it okay to make a mesh that aligns with the door in blender then setting it as holdout? this way we wont have to render uneeded stuff too
I have a certain clip I want to use but I didnt set any motion trackers, and I no longer have access to the location of the clip, is it still possible to use?
I tried to make this and my desktop is full of attempts I have tried to add more subdivisions but made it so slow to render. (The second ghost is the problem) when his neck snaps it glitches through the blanket and then goes back under it. It used to glitch out and stay out but not it pops out and back in. Plz help
I know it's a little late, I follow the fabric part to the letter and everything works fine, until I apply movement to my character, then the fabric slowly passes through it and falls or falls towards one of the sides of my character.
It might just be too close, you can increase the collision quality, reduce the collision distance, or (the best option if the cloth shouldn’t be interacting with the wall at all) hide the wall and cache the simulation without the wall there!
You are so freaking underrated my guy. That 5 second scene was legitimately creepy, and you are very talented!
Thank you! Was a lot of fun to make and I'm just glad I got it out for Halloween!
This tutorial is pure gold, i learned more here than months in school, i really love this channel. 🔥

Very nice visual effects. What did you use for the sound? Where did you find the sound?
he made the sound with his own voice, and the monster sound , he probably got it off youtube or somethin.
great tutorial and great mousepad
Thanks, it’s my girlfriend’s corgi butt mousepad haha
What setting do I change to stop the head clipping through as it turns its head. It’s only for a few frames but it’s noticeable
ngl that second ghost made me take off my headphones

MY BLANKET DOESNT FALL

I know it's a little late, I follow the fabric part to the letter and everything works fine, until I apply movement to my character, then the fabric slowly passes through it and falls or falls towards one of the sides of my character.
Materials ?
I peed a little bit when that second ghost looked at me
...gut!
in my scene i am on a hall, and the cloth sim starts flying directly into a wall instead of falling down, do you know why?
It might just be too close, you can increase the collision quality, reduce the collision distance, or (the best option if the cloth shouldn’t be interacting with the wall at all) hide the wall and cache the simulation without the wall there!
@@AcademyOfEdits thank you! will try it out today
