@@ianzander5057 bro why you leave spaces so big it feels like when the teacher makes a statement and gives the clas 5 minutes to form pairs and discuss it
I am probably twice your age and have worked in media production for most of my life. Rotary phones were the only phones when I was a child. The good news about A.I. is that technology has always been changing epically, and the entire ride I have heard bosses exclaim "We're gonna be out of a job with this new technology!" My advice is to never hold back on YOUR growth. Forget the pressure to abandon your own path if you enjoy it. My entire career has been as a magician. My clients don't know why my work feels better than anyone else's work, but the point is they can FEEL it anyway. You don't have to explain your path to any negative folks. Besides, they can't understand it. By diving deep into your art forever, you will always see what others can't see. A.I. can't teach them that without them knowing they can't see the details and then connections an artist sees. Use A.I. for the tedious stuff you already know how to do. A.I. is nothing new. It's another light bulb.
This is exactly what I tell my kids. AI is great at assisting me with mundane tasks (like boilerplating out a class or something), but it's not a replacement for honing your skills and becoming better in every way possible. An analog for AI is cheating on a test. Why is cheating on a test bad? Because the test is supposed to be a marker for your abilities up to that point, and what areas you need to focus on to get better. Cheating on a test robs you of the opportunity figure out how you can get better. AI is no different than a calculator. If you use it to cheat, it'll rob you. But that doesn't mean you can't use it as a tool to make things a little easier, especially when you've already grown past it in certain areas that you're using it in.
Was here 6 months ago getting absolutely amazed by seeing what other fellow 3D artists are creating, which honestly made me a bit insecure about me not working as hard as you guys. But now after 6 whole months I'm here watching it again after learning every possible thing to make a short film (scene) of my own. Brother I'm truly greatful to you for encouraging me to step of my comfort zone to learn the necessary skills n get better. Thank you Brother!! ~Fellow 3d Artists
what a great breakdown that goes beyond the tech hows and thinks about the bigger picture. and all this info is easily adaptable to other apps like Unreal Engine
The "is this worth it if Ai is gonna replace me?" and "is it really ok for me to use this in my world if i didn't create it?" are both things i grappled with recently learing UE5 to make games. I like how you brought them up and tried to address them.
i like your approach where before you begin, have a picture in your mind, take a reference, dissect them in to list before you open blender. many times most (including me) would open blender then see block and we get our brain BLOCKED. where my imagine should start, what do i need, should i start house wait no lets build environment. at the end we do get the results we are looking for if u are dedicated but at the cost of losing more time.
Amazing tutorial! And I totally agree with this part at 9:15. I used to be against stock assets, but my mind has completely changed after thousands upon thousands of hours of working in 3D. The way I see it is if the scope of your project is bigger than the object(s) you're using and the object is obtained legally and credited properly (just like you did here) then there's absolutely no shame in using it! Now I only custom model the things that I know don't exist or that I know I can do better. Also, stock assets are used all the time on even the biggest productions.
Im so thankful for you not only uploading again, but also giving such valuable mindset advice for artists today, worrying about everything. You can’t believe how helpful this video was!
Before applying the geometry nodes as shown in 5:06, apply the scale of the plane by pressing ctrl+A, otherwise the grass, moss, etc. will scale with the plane
Excellent tutorial to actually CREATE a big looking environement. Props to you, keep it up, not like theses blender-youtuber who usually just talk about stuff they can't realize in blender
I love how people who create tutorial just glaze right over extremely key point to to finish the actual tutorial. Something that would take less than 20 seconds to explain just completely omitted.
@@asapuzzi im in no need for a tutor. I can follow the tutorials a-okay, just need time. The ecosystem is very different to video editing programms i mainly work in.
Just found you through Instagram and I wanted to say how much I've enjoyed your videos. I'm trying to get back into blender and improve my skills and these tutorials have been really helpful since I've struggled with environments before. Keep up the amazing content!
Dude thats crazy. if you only threw the final vid up on twitter or sumn, i'd have been scouring the screen for the playstion tag or that "captured in game" foot note. this looks like some triple A horror game cutscene or announcement trailer
This is amazing work and the walk through is so much helpful., the higher fps made it feeling like game environment. I'm sure this would look even better with 24 fps with right motion blur.
Saw the short on this - Subscribed right then. Looking forward you're future work. Great presentation. Leaned Blender 2 years ago, got rusty and now relearning. Thanks for your videos.

Awesome video. I've been trying to make environments in Blender and Unreal, but can't quite shake the videogame-cutscene look. This was helpful. I didn't know you did the Urban Env course. I've been eyeing it and the Lanscape course. Must be a sign :)
great environment design especially for blender. although i would say itd look better if the plants had a little motion. I'm currently developing an add-on which will procedurally deform plant meshes to simulate wind i hope you may use it someday great stuff
I really like the process, I wish you could have given more details about the lighting, and the deer modeling too. I didn't like the one after color grading though, I am an archviz artist for so long, and you can understand when you train your eyes to see the natural green tone. It seemed a little off in the very and, but in the third to fifth layer of your color grading it was better.
Heyooooo. Here trying to learn blender. Awesome video. Just a little one for me as a beginner would be awesome if you could include the keys/shortcuts you're pressing whenever you're doing stuff. Either a pop up on the screen or to mention it during the video. Thanks :)
Very nice! Though the daytime lighting looks very hard, I miss the indirect lighting here. For the night time, it could also use a little indirect lighting, night time is never fully dark. Most of the time there is some light coming from somewhere, even in the dark. Eliminating the completely dark shot. Other then that, very nice scene and tutorial! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
