The funny thing is, if Marvel wanted to spite Fox they could've used this guy as an excuse to at least get the Human Torch into the MCU, kinda like how they found a loophole to get Quicksilver.

I doubt that. Quicksilver isn't a name you can trademark on its own, just if you create a fancy logo. Also, Quicksilver is licensed in both the X-Men and Avengers franchises. I doubt very much the Human Torches are likewise split in the licensing agreement.

Does anyone really want a movie about this guy? There are over a thousand characters and only a couple dozen will get their own movie. I can't see this guy as a priority, especially when they couldn't even get a Johnny Storm solo series off the ground.
... But then again Sony thinks people want a Morbius movie.

When you think about it, it's incredibly fitting for Human Torch to be the first superhero of Marvel. In MU, this was public's first encounter with the supernatural: Screaming in terror at the man on fire.
And for the second one to be an neurotic half-naked asshole.

There’s a much more recent comic where the Torch speculates that Horton actually wanted him to burn, to be a weapon against the Nazis. And he certainly was a weapon against them, in marvel canon Hitler did not commit suicide, the Torch roasted him alive.

If you think about it, considering that the Human Torch burns without any kind of fuel being used, (the skin appearing unscathed and therefore impossible to have been the fuel supports this), the Scientist did kind of make the greatest discovery ever. Whether that be a fuel that will never run out when on fire or perhaps even fusion or fission considering the radiation thing.
That’s revolutionary since it basically means a source which could be used to fuel power stations forever without needing to be replaced.

    Good, informative video!
One note, though. I think it’s a little ungenuine to say to say that Johnny Storm was the more popular of the two. His solo book lasted only a few years and is widely considered the weakest of the ongoing 60s Marvel titles. People who bought the FF did so was Ben Grimm, the villains, and the Kirby concepts. Replace Iceman with Johnny and I don’t think it misses a beat.
The OG Torch had the lead feature for all 92 issues of Marvel Mystery, was the only character besides Cap to have a long running series named after him, and was the second most popular character Timely had in the Golden Age. His premise is way more fascinating and identifiable and it’s time everyone gives him, as well as Burgos, the admiration and attention they deserve.

"Liquidar" might be "Liquid AR", or liquid Argon gas. Argon is a gas like Helium or Neon, totally chemically inert, so It is used as a shielding gas for arc welding. Like helium, it is stored pressured to a liquid.
And the reason the nitrogen gas puts out the flame is, well, for the same reason. Mostly chemically inert, it essentially starves the flames of oxygen to react with.

Awesome episode as always. Sounds like this origin was a fun read so I just might do some research on the golden age Human Torch, Timely Comics/Marvel's first superhero. Just so you know that me and the wife danced to the closing theme of this episode. Have a great week and a Happy Thanksgiving.

Golden age Human Torch: probably most well known for canonically assassinating Hitler.

Based on a few quick Google searches:
Depending on composition, glass melts around 1400-1600° Celsius, or around 2500-2900° Fahrenheit.
Steel melts at around 1370°C, again around 2500°F, so in the same ballpark as the lower-end glass (albeit about 50°F lower).
If the Torch can so easily melt steel, then he probably would've melted the lower-end glass. However, one could assume that Professor Horton knew this, and so used glass of higher melting point for the tube, thus preventing it from melting in the short time HT was on fire.

I rather liked the idea of him being re-made into Vision. So I actually just stick with that one rather then acknowledge later changes.

The Human Torch caught on fire because he was removed from his original package, turns out Action Figure Collectors stop a couple thousand of domestic fires a year just by keeping the toys in mint condition.

"Eww, just thrash it. There's no future in sentient robots or permanent sources of heat!"
But at least I can see how annoying it would be if Johnny Storm's fire acted like actual fire. Yeah, it's fake thathe can grab stuff and like be in a closed room without making it unbearably hot, but jeez.
