I love Johnny, really I do, I mean, who wouldn't? But the legacy, the heroism and the history contained in the character of Jim Hammond will always make him one of the coolest characters in the Marvel Universe, especially because Marvel doesn't place nearly as much emphasis on its golden age history as DC does so appearances by them are much rarer and more previous. Plus, I think his face being covered by the flames rather than visible through it like Johnny is is just cooler
@@majingunplero8472 It's the same for Bucky. No Marvel Legends figure. Plenty of Winter Soldier, but nothing from his Bucky days. Personally i'd love to have an Invaders display but not possible right now.

Honestly, I wish Jim Hammond was still in Marvel comics now, the idea of an android with this dangerous power while also finding humanity is fascinating. Plus I want more exploration of Horton Cells, they sound super cool
Thank you! The original Torch is one of my favorites. I learned about the "Horton Cells" fairly recently, and I'm glad you mentioned them. I think it's important to distinguish the Torch from the Vision, and establishing that Jim Hammond is made up entirely of synthetic tissues while Vision is a combination of synthetic tissues, electronics, and mechanical parts is a great way of doing that. Unfortunately, the whole Immortus-thing confuses matters.
I always wanted to know who Vision is supposed to be. Apparently he's a combination of Jim Hammond and I guess Wonder Man? I mean, physically speaking, he's partially made out of Hammond's body, but who's consciousness is inside? Although they used Wonder Man's brain waves, whatever that means lol, I'm not sure who really is the person inside, that has feelings for Wanda and is so intelligent.
Even though I've seen these Human Torch videos before they are still a fun re-watch for me. Putting them both together gave a much more in-depth look at the history of these characters, more in line with your more recent videos. This makes me think of the female Horton-android, TARA, from the early 2000's Invaders series. She didn't have many appearances but would make a good companion piece to your Human Torch videos. There is so much more history of the original Torch left to cover that a part 3 could be made and TARA, Invader-1, could be a part of it.
Thank you so very much for your videos. We enjoy them. Please take good care of yourself. No need to apologize but be sure to get well soon. Love you always

He said he as thought to be a mutant be was actually a inhuman this means toro is one of if not marvel's first inhuman like how namor is marvel's first mutant enough if he's a hybrid
Hmm so the clash between mutants and inhumans existed way before even the X-Men and the Royals met. Marvel's first ever mutant Namor vs Marvel's first inhuman Toro would be a historical fight to witness.
@@jorgecaballero6215 I hate it when people use the word "reveal" to describe retcons. Reveal implies we're learning something that was always there. We're not. Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver weren't "revealed" to be not mutants, and not Magneto's children after they were "revealed" to be Magneto's children in the first place. Kamala Khan wasn't "revealed" to be a mutant.
As a kid the original Human Torch was being published in new (those historic) adventures every month thanks to the Invaders. And his Golden Age tales were semi regularly being reprinted. So he was just as much THE Human Torch as Johnny Storm. (Enough for kids to use the Mego HT action figure to play as him as much as Johnny). I just finished your video on Marvel's Golden Age weird (horror?) tales; it made me realize that the Torch's origin (both Torches actually) is a horror tale more than a superhero tale. Very cool insight. Thanks. Oh as for Toro, they actually seem to have been trying to bring him back in the pages of Power Pack (an amnesiac graying-haired homeless man named Raymond who seemed to be able at times to create small flames) but then they seemed to drop that and I never heard again of that story arc. Anyone know if that was revisited?
I always loved the 70s & 80s renderings of all the Torches throughout Invaders & Fantastic Four. The red base color, black lines, and surrounding flames were simple yet always dynamic. I've not cared for the look of Johnny Storm in years nor Toros new Inhuman look. Not sure what's become of Jim Hammond.

Oh, the wild ways a horrible dictator would die, Adolfs flaming body telling an officer to report his death as a suicide is pretty awesome. The Flaming Fuhrer would be an amazing villain. Please tell me Immortus was just not capable at the time,ie; getting his Masters in Evil degree, to make this a reality.
What do you think is the best thing about the original Human_Torch in the Comics? Which one of his powers and abilities do you think is the best? What do you think he would be like if he appeared in the MCU?
Recently read the original story, and honestly the Torch is a real goofball of sorts, he'd fit right in amongst all the modern heroes if they ever brought him back, he's a lot like Spidey personality wise, just a little more ruthless due to being a _brand new_ person, and not knowing better, but he still knows when someone's an asshole who deserves what comes to them.
