Can you do history of the U-Foes, the Annihilators, the Squadron Supreme, Doom Maidens, the Midnight_Sons, Young Avengers, Dark Avengers, Masters of Evil, the Thunderbolts and the Champions?
My personal model for the Marvel Universe is that Earth-616 is the world where the Fantastic Four took their ill-fated flight into space in 1961, and Peter Parker is now 76 years old. It was also a world where Reed Richards and Ben Grimm were both veterans of the Second World War. That's the world Stan Lee began receiving psychic visions from, a power which he shared with anyone he collaborated with, and which was also shared, in attenuated form, with those who worked with anyone who had worked with Stan Lee. Over time, though, our world began to slip out of tune with Stan's brain, and the visions began to come from Earth-617, a very similar world - so similar that even Stan didn't notice the change. On Earth-617, the Fantastic Four were created in 1971 and Peter Parker is now 66. I suspect that Earth-617 is also the world which was invaded by Martians in 1901 and again in 2001, which launched Major Vance Astro to Alpha Centauri in 1988, suffered an ozone collapse, created Deathlok the Demolisher, was conquered by the Badoon and eventually produced the Guardians of the Galaxy, 3007 edition. Then there's Earth-618, Earth-619, Earth-620 (also known as Earth-1610), where the Fantastic Four stepped through a portal in 2001, Earth-621, where the Fantastic Four made their flight in 2011, which I suppose is the world Marvel Comics are currently tuned into, although they'll eventually switch bands without our noticing and start receiving signals from Earth-622, a world where the Fantastic Four hijacked a SpaceX StarShip in 2021 to test their stardrive (hoping to make it an *_ACTUAL_* starship), and Peter Parker is currently, in 2023, 17 years old. It's a little bit wonky, but I'd actually like this better than the "sliding time scale" that Marvel is running on right now. [P.S.: Neil Gaiman had the good fortune, probably thanks to being in the good graces of the Sandman, of tuning in to Earth-580, where the plucky foursome who made up the crew of the good ship *_Fantastick_* sailed into a mysterious glowing fogbank in *_1601._* Actually, that's good fortune for all of us.]
Are the early part of the content's artwork some of Jack Kirby's and some of Steve Ditko's? Just curious... And GOSH! Talk about convoluted and grim, eh?
Thank you for this o used to follow the GOTG comics and am not happy with how the marvel movies have totally undermined the characters.( I accept there need to ,make changes but what they have done a total re-make of GOTG-eg) Yantu was a member of GOTG not a Ravisher and outlaw.
I liked the Comic Book, but either it was very popular or Guardians of The Galaxy wasn't primarily shipped and sold in my area, because I rarely saw one when I was buying comics during the 1970's and 80's. All I was ever able to find were the 3 that I had during my teen's and early twenties.
I got the original Yondu card for (well Yondu) in Marvel Snap the other day. Was the mohawk originally hair? it's appears more like hair on the card, only there are no stands like human hair. It appears more hair-like than what he has in the MCU at least.
What do you think is the best thing about the original Guardians of the Galaxy in the comics compared to the Guardians of the Galaxy team with Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Mantis, Star-Lord, Groot and Rocket Raccoon?
I LOVE both GOTG movies (GOTG1 might be my fav Marvel movie out of all of them) BUT I do think they should have started the GOTG with the original team.
The lore of this iteration of the Guardians goes pretty deep. I remember back in the 90s, Marvel revived this line up. Astro's journey was pretty dark. He would be woken up when the ship needed him and he often grew mad only to regain sanity and be put back to sleep then he would be woken up again when the ship needed assistance and Astro would go mad again only to regain sanity again and again. My favorite thing about Major Astro was when he received Cap's shield and used his telekinesis to manipulate it when he threw it. I remember when he got a transfusion from Hollywood (Wonderman) and was able to finally remove his Adamantium suit.

Can you do origin of Wonder Man, the Grim Reaper, Molecule Man, Sentry, Mr Immortal, Captain Universe, Dreadknight, Hypnotia, Blizzard, Starhawk, Flerken, Whirlwind, Chemistro, Whiplash, Ronan the Accuser, Ego the Living Planet, the Living Tribunal and Super_Skrull along with Avenger-X and the Protector?
I used to subscribe to this comic series in the 90s. this was rad
Great work on the video! Can you explain who kill raven is? Thx in advance 👏👏
Forgot how crazy this all was!
Doom ACTUALLY wore Wolverine’s skeleton as armor.
Just…crazy.
Thanks!
~_~
Can you do history of the U-Foes, the Annihilators, the Squadron Supreme, Doom Maidens, the Midnight_Sons, Young Avengers, Dark Avengers, Masters of Evil, the Thunderbolts and the Champions?
These were the Gaurdians I was originally hoping to see in the MCU. But, I’m cool with The Guardians Marvel Studios chose to go with.
Now this is the Gaurdians of the galaxy that I remember and this is how it should be 👍
Exactly!
your moommmmmy mooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
This is so good
Please do an in depth video the history of Thanos of Titan
Thank you just thank you
Great history lesson.
I loved the Jim Valentino run of Guardians of the Galaxy. They are so much better than the current Guardians.
Lost some brain cells trying to read that.
Seriously? Did you just write a paragraph about how much of an old school fan of the group and then get YONDU's name wrong?
i hear you, and agree with you 100% percent. Yondu was mistreated criminally. GotG was an amazing read that more people should know about.
I liked the Comic Book, but either it was very popular or Guardians of The Galaxy wasn't primarily shipped and sold in my area, because I rarely saw one when I was buying comics during the 1970's and 80's. All I was ever able to find were the 3 that I had during my teen's and early twenties.
Can you do a video on Gambit
I'm curious. Is the vowel swap 'ur' for 'ar' (in Martian, for instance) a regional characteristic or or personal?
I got the original Yondu card for (well Yondu) in Marvel Snap the other day. Was the mohawk originally hair? it's appears more like hair on the card, only there are no stands like human hair. It appears more hair-like than what he has in the MCU at least.
Thanks and safety to ya mate!
These are the Guardians I grew up reading. Was a pretty good series.
What do you think is the best thing about the original Guardians of the Galaxy in the comics compared to the Guardians of the Galaxy team with Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Mantis, Star-Lord, Groot and Rocket Raccoon?
I LOVE both GOTG movies (GOTG1 might be my fav Marvel movie out of all of them) BUT I do think they should have started the GOTG with the original team.
this OG run sounds alot better than the new modern stuff and much better than the movies lol
I'll take the og guardians over the modern, more successful version any day, the 1990 series is a lot of fun
your mommy twoy, y u exist lolol
39:20 No, it can't be. I thought it was a joke, was there really a Guardians of the Galaxy villain named Taserface?
