I want to mention one thing regarding Wind and in particular with Malefor. If you play through the level "Floating Islands" (the penultimate level in DotD), you'll notice that around the entire level is a giant tornado that is clearly keeping all the islands and rubble of the dragon temple suspended above the volcano. Malefor clearly was using the element of wind here and at an incredibly powerful level.
No to mention when you look down you can see the entire game map portrayed as a view of the world below. To me, it's a beautiful yet grim reminder of everything you went through, and all that you must save from the destruction of Malefor. It's honestly the best thing about that level. This game is just beautiful AF and it's my absolute favorite in the trilogy!
I have a theory about why Malefor doesn't have time as an ability. What if the "time fury" Spyro uses at the end of Eternal Night is not only a one time use, but also removes the time ability all together? With that in mind, assuming Malefor had the ability before, what if he used it to keep himself alive when he was trapped in Convexity/the Well of Souls? It probably wouldn't keep him from aging, considering that Spyro, Cynder, and Sparx do when they were trapped in time for 3 years, but it would likely keep him from being harmed by the elements or monsters found in said areas.
I mean water Breath is in heros tail and bubble Breath is in enter the dragonfly so spyro can use water but it was in the older games 🤷♂️ And in skylanders cynder can use electricity so it could be its corrupted form
If dark fire is courrupted fire, maybe poison is courrupted water, and shadow is courrupted electricity? ... Also, hellfire would be a good name for courrupted fire.
Poison is just considered like a liquid and Shadow, well it has an ability called Shadow Fire which has Cynder breathe Black Smoke then has real orange fire when come to contact on Malefor so Corrupted Electricity and Water would just be Corrupted version of those Elements.
I 100% believe that the dragon featured in the Warfang cutscene with the mole as Hunter monologues about the creation of the dragon city is indeed The Chronicler. The face and appearance are exactly identical. Which would imply The Chronicler was an earth dragon previously.
maybe water dragons and the water element are based on the breaths of earlier games (Bubble breath from Enter the Dragonfly and water breath from A Hero's Tail) there was a wind attack in another game called Attack of the Rhynocs.

I also wanted to say, I was watching a playthrough of the DS version of TEN, and the time crystal at the end is called a TIME FURY!!!! Yes, in all caps just like that. So, yeah! Cynder's secondary shadow ability in DOTD is called Shadow Fire, and while it only looks like generic black smoke, I personally think it's the same shadow fire she used in ANB. Maybe I'm just reaching, though... And I am a HUGE FAN of your time dragon for a Chronicler theory! I've seen people online interpret the events of TEN as the Chronicler teaching Spyro how to use time, expressly so he can use the fury and save himself to "fight another day." I think in that way, he was a fifth guardian who taught Spyro 💜

Late to the party but I believe the time element is something only the chronicler can bestow upon purple dragons only because their whole purpose is to document time or the passing of it
You technically can use wind as spyro the earth bomb summons a small tornado and its even mentioned in new beginning that earth as some control over wind so its likely that wind is a sub element of earth

My favorite element to use while playing as Cynder is shadow I love how it sends enemies in the air and being able to grab them while they're in the air. I highly recommend using Cynder's Shadow ability

I've got a suggestion for you! You ever heard of the opinion that the Chronicler is possibly related to Malefor? I read somewhere that to some fans he and Malefor look similar. Do you think this is a deciding factor in who becomes the Chronicler?
i think that maybe Time element is a neutral element that requires both Aethers in order to master it (if not being chosen by it). i think that Aether and dark Aether works like positive and negative energies in a magic sense with all the other elements applying to it, but Time element being a neutral one, it requires both Aethers since manipulating time is a thing that can end up using in both positive and negative.
I don't think time is an element,because only the chronicler and Spyro can use it,and in one of the Spyro dreams in eternal night Spyro can use time as an ability to slow down time and attack enemies.
That's...not really an element. Being undead isn't enemies using a 'death' element. As for Malefor cursing the Apes, that could have been anything, any ability from Fear to Poison to Shadow to Dark Aether or maybe just some trick he's picked up along the way.
I’m pretty sure the grumbling and golems of the deep are examples of Malefor’s very powerful elemental Earth powers. Even though he claims previous purple dragons have done so, it would still take massive amounts of power and connection with the earth to create an entire army of the things or to at least “awaken” them as he says.
The lead concept artist Jared revealed there is a Being of Light and Dark, the creators of the Elements and so it's clear that these Titans are Primordial and made by the Being of Dark, Malefor following the dark path of that being clearly has him being able to control while believing in *The Great Cleansing* and they didnt arise until Malefor was in his original physical world, the Purple Dragon also is clearly something by these two and Spyro follows the Being of Light's path while Malefor follows the other. However that's pretty much it, there's no other official media that came out or has that confirms or deny this but I fully believe that Malefor is just commanding a Primordial dark being's creations and shares the goal, sterilize the planet in fire and spread the influence, death and destruction for everything & everyone as the Being of Dark wants.
I suppose you have a point about the golems being primordial, but I’ve never heard about there being two being of light and dark before. If you could provide a source where Pullen said this that’d be helpful. I would also argue that I’m pretty sure Hunter says the golems were created by Malefor, but indeed he says he merely “summoned” them and Hunter likely wouldn’t know for sure how the golems came about from his point of view (as Malefor says, purple dragons are meant to summon the the destroyer and golems, though I assumed it was a 50/50 on whether he was lying to Spyro or not). I suppose my only counter would be the orcs, grublins, and trolls. I can imagine a primordial god-like being making dark destructive golems of the deep, but hardly imagine this being you picture to have a need for tiny footsoldiers. The grumbling especially, I doubt they were created by this being; I still believe the bulk of his army was made by Malefor himself.

No, it would not make more sense, because the card references an ELEMENT, not an ability. And Shadow Fire wasn't an ability that existed at that point in time because the Shadow element was a creation of Activision after they acquired the rights, post ET.

As Spyro battled Steam, I was at work trying to free Terrordor. Terrordor: Uhhh...huh? Who are you? Me: That doesn't matter right now, what matters is getting you free and escaping this pit of despair before the fireworks go off. I'll explain later. Terrordor: Well please hurry young one! The volcano is ready to blow!, And if you're unsuccessful, us with it. Me: Sir, that's not gonna happen.... -As I was freeing Terrordor, a fire bomb nearly landed on me, just missing me by feet- Me: Hey Spyro! I said keep them off me. Spyro: Sorry about that! My bad! -Once Steam was defeated, Terrordor Was free from his imprisonment. As Spyro approached Terrordor, I managed to free a crystal from it's hold. It seemed to be pulsing with power as I examined it. Terrordor: The Purple dragon lives! -I called out to Terrordor, not taking my eyes off the crystal- Me: "Purple Dragon" does have a name you know! The Dark Elements were more intriguing than the Light ones especially Corrupted Cynder's Dark Fire or Nether/Dark Aether Fire.

1. Earth 🪨
2. Wind 🌪

Lots of people look alike irl especially in an uncanny manner so it's like that, both not related to each other.
