This video is an experience and a trip as someone who grew up on Skylanders. I collected almost every one until superchargers. I did NOT realize trap team ended in a touhou boss battle.
I actually tried doing a Skylander Giants Nuzlocke in Nightmare Mode using all the Skylanders available in Skylanders Giants. Most of them are maxed and unfortunately I lost my final Skylander in the final fight in The Lost City of Arkus which is infuriating. I don’t know why but I find many of these deaths to be hilarious! Especially the first Shrednaught death, the faces of both Troll 1 and Troll 2 as they chase poor Fling Kong to his death is seriously hilarious!
It’s good to know that after all this time, this game series is far from dead. It’s amazing to see that the community is still this big 6 years after the final game in the series (hopefully just at the moment) was released
Looking back these were indeed some really good games. They would've been received so much better if it weren't for toys to life making you spend so much money to experience all the content.
How I would make a Skylanders 7: Traps and vehicles are not required for extra content, maybe they could be used to get accolades but those aren’t required to 100%. There would be gates that only a Giant of the right element could go through, maybe the entrance could be designed around the Giant used to open it (since Giants only have one of each element). We could also have special mini only areas, because one of Trap Team’s gimmick Skylanders was minis and they’re only used for one area in the entire game. Maybe they could even have mini only elemental gates. I just want an elemental gate for every gimmick Skylander in one game. This would fix Trap Team cores being useless as if you don’t have a character from any other element from the previous games you could use them. Dual elemental gates, old Spyro’s adventure gates, Elemental Traptanium (basically different colored Traptanium based on the element Trap Master needed to break it.) Add more Dark and Light characters. Dark and Light Skylanders were introduced really late into the series so there aren’t that many, but the ones we do have are some of the coolest looking and most creatively designed ones in the game. They could add dark and light gimmick skylanders to the old roster, including Swappers, Giants and Minis (Maybe Lightcores? Are Dark Lightcores even possible?). Speaking of Light and Dark Minis, I think Blackout and Spotlight could have very good Mini designs. Spotlight’s could be Spotling, Blackout’s could be Grayout (can’t think of a better name). Have a better story than Imaginators, though knowing Imaginator’s story it won’t be hard. I think in order for Kaos to still be a part of the story, whether he is a villain or not, the events of Imaginators would have to be disregarded as Kaos and Glumshanks are essentially stuck in a jar with no magic to get them out. Maybe Imaginators could be regarded as all being fabricated by the collected imagination of all of the Imaginators Skylanders that you created or something, basically the “it was all a dream” ending. Spellslamzer being the main villain. After defeating him on BattleBrawl Island, it’d make sense for him to want to get revenge. Also, after the events of Skylanders Superchargers, the Darkness, the entity that took so much work for the Spell Punks to summon, was destroyed. Spellslamzer could work great as a villain, he was a small side villain in Superchargers but he literally warps reality and might even be the one who summoned the Darkness, seeing as he is able to create spell punks and has control over them to some degree. He kind of just disappeared after he told the Skylanders some very unhelpful information about the Spell Punk Library, which is sad because he is one of the coolest villains in the series.
The sheer amount of nostalgia that rushed back to me upon hearing the low health sound 👁👄👁 The way I had forgotten so much of the actual games tho cuz my brain became so filled with the deranged stories my 12 year old self made up with these damn toys
Actually that only happens when you use a flying skylander and u fly, the shockwaves become walls. Also we try not to use villain traps as it kind of takes the challenge out of trap team.
You know, don't cite me out as weird, but since I had never encountered a fourth wall break in a game before, Trap Team managed to incidentally make gullible kid me believe Skylands was real. Like, I'm not even joking, I actually thought Kaos would pull me through my TV and trap me. But, personally, that just added another level of the love for Trap Team that I have today. It's a very solid game, I don't care what anyone says about it, I will love it to hell and back.
The fun thing about Skylanders is the hundreds of fan made challenges and new quests you can take. No matter how much you play this game, there will always be some new way to do it. I would know since I've already done like 5 or 6 locks lol
Swap Force was a complete cheese: "No runnning away from enemies" *proceeds to run away the fire golems* "No intentional cheeses" *proceeds to cheese nearly the entire mesmeralda fight*

Because I don’t have a very big skylander collection like some other skylander fans, I like to do Nightmare Lockes how they work (in my version at least) is you set the difficulty to Nightmare mode, what ever skylander that is compatible with the game you get to use(example you can use sunburn in trap team if it says fire skylanders are stronger in this zone), and finally there are randomly selected bonuses you get at the start of each level; bonuses can be either good or bad, some of the good bonuses I have are use of hats, items, and revives(note that the revives can be used to revive a dead skylander of your choice, it doesn’t have to be random). Bad bonuses include being restricted to using one element(ex: only using water skylanders), being restricted from using a element(ex: no earth skylanders allowed even if it said earth skylanders are stronger in this zone), being restricted to a certain type of skylander(ex: only using cores, only using water skylanders, etc), having to play extra levels, or having to sacrifice a skylander(which is basically just killing off a skylander), note that the skylander can only be sacrificed if you have used said skylander in the Locke at some point. To this day I have never beaten a Nightmare Locke on trap team
I cut up a paper into many smaller pieces, label them, put them in a box, shake the box, close my eyes and take one out. It would probably be more efficient to just search up a wheel generator and put the bonuses/challenges in their instead.

Amazing video bro. I don’t know how but you made this whole 1 and a half hour video interesting and funny and made me wanting to keep watching for the entire video. I never had something like that in a video ever. I love your humour to and keep up the great work.
I am a year late to this or so; but this was DEFINITELY a lesson in 'Oh, so this is why people recommend an army of ranged skylanders'. Skylanders is VERY unfriendly to melee characters. My own progression in Nightmare taught me that. ANY character that had ranged was better than any that didn't. Mobility also was key. Also; a fun fact on Chef Pepper - IDK if this was tried, but I found merely sticking to a corner 'baited' his pepper throws on Phase 2, making it so that you only had 25% of the room to work with... But that 25% was still worthwhile.
I love your videos not only because it really shows that there’s more strategic combat to Skylanders than I initially thought, but also because you always make me laugh.
Brilliant video buddy, the nostalgia really kicking in here about a whole forgotten part of my childhood I played it on the Wii haha, appreciate the funny cut-aways during the content to break it up a bit certainly effective and the video doesn’t feel as long as it is. Keep up the great work certainly earned a sub!
Good lord, nightmare mode chef pepper Jack was horrible for me,it’s good to see someone else recognising that those goddamn pepper bombs were IMPOSSIBLE to deal with
Hey I love your videos and I’m so glad someone’s keeping the series alive! After watching this i remembered a challenge I did with swap force a while ago and figured I’d challenge you to try it. I called it a skylanders nuzlocke where you start with one random skylander (no giants or swapers) and you play on nightmare mode. Every level you win you get another random skylander (either a normal skylanders or a random swap half) but if one ever dies it’s dead for good it took me quite a few attempts but eventually I beat it.
I have a channel called “BalladPlus” where I have just started my nightmare run for all 6 games. With spyros I threw it in so I could gain experience after years of not playing Skylanders and I had 6 deaths in the very last level only. With giants on nightmare I had 36 deaths and I underestimated how hard it would be even with watching this video, now I’m moving onto the others soon lol. Love your videos man! Keep it up!
You playing this actually reignited a memory of me have a horrifying fear of Trog wanderers. I used to get terrified whenever I saw them and have nightmares about them
I love how jawbreaker is the name of a skylander on trap team and at the same time it’s the name of that green guy In Kaos Kastle at Skylanders Giants chapter 9
So what I learned from this: Earlier games had a lot more unfair bullshit, but later games just throw a shitton of effects at your screen to make it harder. Seriously the further he got the more I had problems seeing what's even going on. While the graphics improved visual clarity was disregarded completely. I found the original game quite hard for a kids game, especially the last level, which had to do with our small selection of Skylanders as well as the bosses being bullet sponges, which they did NOT change as seen in the video. Skylanders was either too easy or just really frustrating, no in between. Honestly not that sad that Skylanders is dead now, they never managed to make a well balanced game, there always was a lot of pay2win included.
I definitely agree but I have to say this entire project was a ton of fun and I had a blast playing through even the clearly unfair and unpolished parts of the games.
@@kryptkrusher Yeah they can be fun games and aren't that bad, but oh boy can they be frustrating at times, they failed to find a good core to build upon, each game has some sort of issue and they never found a solution for it. But, nice video, I enjoyed it a lot, you got a new subscriber 😁
I watched this video under a week ago. But now youtube has been spamming me with it after legit every single video and i just decided to watch it again since it’s a good video
Bro i thought my trap team disk was broken and not that dream catcher was just poorly made and crashes the wii. I gave up when i was younger and never actually beat the game. Thank you i will now spend the next month on that game
Beating Nightmare mode in every game is an impressive feat for sure, but I beat every heroic challenge with every SSA/Giants Skylander I own. It took me around a year of work, but I finally did it a few days ago. Disclaimer: Please do NOT attempt this unless you are stupid or have absolutely nothing better to do with your time. This was easily one of the most agonisingly tedious experiences I have ever willingly committed myself to. I had to take frequent breaks and play other games between each session to stop me from going insane. Repeating the same set of 50 challenges an average of 80 times (that's an average of 4000 challenges, correct me if I'm wrong) is not fun and takes a massive toll on your mental health. I literally only did it just to say I've done it. Of course, I am never resetting my Skylanders ever again.
@@judasansnrw5765 I'm working on that next! Started yesterday actually. I made sure to start in Swap Force first, as completed quests don't carry over from Giants which is annoying.
Bro should have grinded with terrafin. He has fast, good damage dealing melee attacks, mean combos, a great belly flop and an invulerability ability to get away. Plus he can deal damage from a distance with his mini sharks. He's also my favourite if you havent gathered.

Also; a fun fact on Chef Pepper - IDK if this was tried, but I found merely sticking to a corner 'baited' his pepper throws on Phase 2, making it so that you only had 25% of the room to work with... But that 25% was still worthwhile.
Now this, this is the content we need on youtube.
Grate job, the kaos trap team will always be the hardest boss fight. You proved it by dying 11 times lol 💜
Good lord, nightmare mode chef pepper Jack was horrible for me,it’s good to see someone else recognising that those goddamn pepper bombs were IMPOSSIBLE to deal with
Toys For Bob were legit just trolling us with that boss.
I can’t wait to get back into these games again. I plan on trying to collect more skylanders on the garage sale weekend of our town.
Man, your humor is impeccable. I'm chuckling out loud every other second. GG Krypt, you're Skylander's strongest soldier.
im so glad im not the only one that turned their hex figure into an amputee
my guy made a full on movie-length skylanders video
now that's respectable
i found that whirlwind was good against shield juggernauts in giants and just flying around while spamming B worked pretty well for the most part
I loved that bit where he said "Now I know it's not the most dignified way" to instant cut to next level
I was expecting a “but” but I didn’t get one.
Ayy nice to see you back man, loved the intro lol
Awesome video and great to see you back Krypt! :)
ITS A MIRACLE HE UPLOADED
I haven’t played since ‘Giants’ you’ve given me a new love for the series!
Nice to see you uploading again krypt!
THE LEGEND HAS RETURNED.
Surprisingly, Chop Chop makes both Giants and Swap Force trivial because he can shield bash bombs and missiles
Keep it up!
i’ve missed your content so much,i hope you continue making videos cause your vids are amazing
You playing this actually reignited a memory of me have a horrifying fear of Trog wanderers. I used to get terrified whenever I saw them and have nightmares about them
Yes let's go!
51:29 brought back way more memories then it should’ve
Amazing Video Krypt 👍 (next basically should be Snaper Craker)
The opening is a perfect representation of how it is to play nightmare mode sometimes.
Caddicarus had his ultimate video game challenge with 101%'ing Crash Bandicoot 4. This is your version of that.
I love how jawbreaker is the name of a skylander on trap team and at the same time it’s the name of that green guy In Kaos Kastle at Skylanders Giants chapter 9
THE RETURN OF THE KING🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
But, nice video, I enjoyed it a lot, you got a new subscriber 😁
man i love these games so much i miss them so much
I watched this video under a week ago. But now youtube has been spamming me with it after legit every single video and i just decided to watch it again since it’s a good video
I love the giants low health sound effect because the faster it goes, the more it reminds me of how bad I am at the game
This made me realise I've played every game in the series front to back dang
Don’t worry, forgetting you’re a RUclips is normal. It happens to the best of us.
Man's a real menace😈😈, fricking brilliant job man👍👍
Nice! Great video Krypt!
The return of the King
I have actually watched this whole video 7 times
I’ll edit it when I completely watch it again
I loved that the Kaos fights were actually tough
I love Skylanders saga in general and I absolutely love this video
Bro i thought my trap team disk was broken and not that dream catcher was just poorly made and crashes the wii. I gave up when i was younger and never actually beat the game. Thank you i will now spend the next month on that game
The Graveclobber death reenactment got a good chuckle out of me. :)
Glad I’m not the only insane person in this world! Did ya also do all the quests in giants and swap force already?
@@judasansnrw5765 I'm working on that next! Started yesterday actually. I made sure to start in Swap Force first, as completed quests don't carry over from Giants which is annoying.
Just don't play imaginators, afaik its glitched and can potentially remove your progress on heroic challenges
i love playing skylanders to this day i started when it first came out im so happy to still see skylanders content coming out
I beat superchargers nightmare without those two cars biggest regret ever
Are you OK? Have you recovered
The ending with Grave Clobber getting owned was incredible XD
Skylander veterans unite (people who played on 2011-2015)
it's good to see you back
I beat nightmare mode Giants with just a maxed Drill Sergeant, no dying, still respect man 😄
doing this as s1 sprocket is on .my bucket list
THE KING HAS RETURNED!!!!!
Bro should have grinded with terrafin. He has fast, good damage dealing melee attacks, mean combos, a great belly flop and an invulerability ability to get away. Plus he can deal damage from a distance with his mini sharks.
He's also my favourite if you havent gathered.
Great to see your return! Amazing video finally got through it all.
The Air Geargolem and Tech Geargolem in Swap Force was the bane of my existence when trying to no damage Super Evil Kaos, that and the Brain part
“its just a smelly way to end a fun challenge”
*fun?*
FINALLY WE MISSED YOU SO MUCH OMG
Time Town is genuinely the most empty level in Trap Team ever
you inspired me to start playing skylanders again with this video so thank you
not tooting my own horn but i did a nightmare mode giants nuzlocke using only the giants and completed. just have all your giants maxed, using the best upgrade path and unlocked all their upgrades and DO YOUR RESEARCH OR PRACTICE.
Still my favorite video all things considered from your channel mate it just hurts seeing my favorite skylanders getting shit on by most people saying they are bad.
The Return of the King
