Cynder is one of the most well-known characters in the Legend of Spyro, but what IS she? Today, I discuss everything there is to know about Black Dragons in the Legend of Spyro franchise. Don't forget to like and subscribe!
I think the black dragon and purple dragon are linked; purple dragon can master all light elements and black dragons can master all dark elements
Or perhaps that black dragons can master all dark elements, and there could perhaps be white dragons that can master all light elements and maybe purple dragons can master all elements
@@coffeecaim2527 I was literally in the middle of writing a spinoff for a comic I wanna make, and had this exact same thought. Except I had a new breed of dragon, a combination of all 3 legendary dragons, the Origin...👀
@@coffeecaim2527this is probably the case, as Spyro can learn a specific Dark breath unique to him that allows him to cast a purple radiation breath.
Gotta say that I’m glad you dove into this topic, I’ve tried to have several discussions about it over the years. And I do agree with the majority of the points stated in your video.
Given what information we have and going by observation, Cynder is certainly at least unique. She has no comparison to any other kind of dragon, with the purple dragon being a close one but not quite the same. Her egg was blackish, her color scheme doesn’t exactly match any known elemental affinity, she was born with actual metal blades grown from her body, she can use Dark Aether which should be impossible for any other dragon except purple ones. Even the very nature of Cynder being a black dragon is a mystery. I definitely agree that she is one too, as she’s still canonically black and has been referred to as such.
And me personally, even the way she was taken from the temple seems deliberate because of what she is. If thinking from Malefor’s point of view, it makes a lot of tactical sense if he was aware of the presence of the purple dragons egg, a black dragon egg, and most of the next generation of dragons in one location. In one stroke he could eliminate his arch enemy before he even becomes a threat, critically cripple the dragon race by destroying all the other eggs, and lastly have another unique and super powerful dragon under his control to use as a weapon to destroy the rest of dragon kind, but more importantly, to free him. Since Ignitus mentioned specifically only ONE born in the year of the dragon could open the portal in Convexity. How he knew that it was Cynder and if it had anything to do with her being a black dragon is unknown, but it appears he was correct. In fact, the Convexus portal itself kinda looks like Cynder’s head.
In any circumstances, Cynder is indeed special, even if the specifics are vague. Perhaps she can use all the dark elements only, while spyro could use all of them if he wishes to.
I have my own headcanon for what Cynder is and what she can do. She’s so much fun and has a lot of hidden potential.
Cynder's Egg was actually a Purple color, only more grayish in tone which you can see when held by the Ape King in the flashback from ANB.
Cynder deserves a better story she has so much potential she pretty much the shadow the hedgehog of the legend of spyro
Why do the jedi have green lightsabers
...Why are you asking this on a Legend of Spyro lore video?
I agree with prince theory of black dragons
Yo. Your Audio is Quiet, I can barely hear you.
I thought Cynder was black because of her convexity powers. We don't know for sure if dragons are a single element creature because that was only ever stated in DotD and that wasn't created by Krome so I can't say that's a reliable source/piece of lore
You can't say DOTD isn't "a reliable piece of lore" just because it wasn't made by Krome, it doesn't matter who made the game, it's still canon.
We still need to talk about water when it comes to mastering the elements.
That'll probably be the next video 😁
@@CasualPrince8 Because I happen to have a theory that might work. What I have in mind is that now that he’s obtained the power of water, he can now become amphibious, Meaning he can travel underwater freely. His move sets could also include; creating fog or possibly make it rain, shooting out a large mass of high pressured water, release bubbles to pick stuff up with like smaller objects, smaller foes or accomplishing tasks, fling sharp water projectiles (tempting idea),then finally while flying low to the ground he can cause a big tidal wave seven or eight times his size as a fury attack possibly. So what do you think? Pretty good ideas right? At least I’m on the right track.
