- Greetings, Historians! Today we're going to talk about a character that ever since her introduction has become almost become as well known as Spyro himself. In this, we will be going over her Legends story, and learn about her journey.

Even though Cynder is in the Legend timeline which is not the favourite of the three series, she is still a wonderful character with a great storyline and backstory. She has been through pain and suffering, but brought through the best of Spyro, giving him something to fight for. She isn't just a character that was included to submit to Spyro's ego, she is her own character with her own personality and a very lovable attitude towards Sparx and Spyro. When Spyro saved her, the side of which we saw in ANB, was no longer there. All we saw, was a scared and tired young dragoness. Her story is beautiful, but sad. In the end however, she found something between herself and Spyro. Not a grudge or anger, but affection and passion, something which she had not felt when she was twisted and corrupted to become something that remained in her nightmares. I want Cynder to return, but I want her to return correctly. I want her to be similar to how she is, but not the same. Great video my dude, keep it up!

It had so much interesting lore and such an great story that I loved. It also introduced one of the most beloved dragons and my preferred purple dragon, Cynder, who I really love for her character and the way how she was handled in The Legend of Spyro trilogy. I loved her no matter her incarnation. I hope she will return as she is one of my favorite dragons and characters.
I wish Legend of Spyro and spyro the dragon trilogies were cannon and take place at the same timeline

Cynder deserve to be included in Spyro remakes. Since the trilogy was *remakes* they can redesign the levels with Cynder as a cameo somehow, or she can be playable as "secret" character to unlock and give her own voice instead of through mods
I mean crash bandicoot got a remake as well and then it got a whole new game as a sequel so who knows

Wow, I’m impressed with how you managed to explain the entire Legend of Spyro series in 30 minutes while somehow doing it in such great detail as well.
A good short retelling of The Legend Of Spyro from Cynders point of view. I honestly wish they had hinted at Cynder having feelings for Spyro much earlier, at least in Dawn Of The Dragon if not as early as The Eternal Night, this way her confession would feel more deserved. I wanted to see a Legend Of Spyro 4 so badly to see what happened next and to see Spyro and Cynder be a couple. Don't know why the heck they made her violet, she's supposed to be black.

The ending of the series showing Spyro and cynder flying together, I think was made so the player can come to their own conclusion.

I believe they made her violet because unlike Malefor, and exactly like Spyro's dark half, dark magic taints the mind... soul... and body. If we remember anything from before the final boss fight in ANB, Ignitus said that Cynder was corrupted by Malefor's "poisonous" powers.
So, after being freed from his control, it took a while for the black scales to wash away due to how long she has been his pawn. And once Spyro used his Time Magic, which all Purple dragons can use, more of the Aether had purified her even more, even with help from the Ancestors. The Ancestors must have kept a closer eye on her after all the pain she's been put through. They pitied her after what Malefor put her through. The Ancestors believed that she has also been tormented after all the deaths that she committed. Deaths that Malefor, through mind and soul, told her to do while she wasn't in complete control.
But after running away and manages to stop Gaul with help from Spyro, She was soon rewarded.
Once Spyro became Dark Spyro and used the Dark Aether to destroy Gaul, he was soon overwhelmed by it. He couldn't control it and was about to lose himself. Thankfully, Cynder, not wanting what happened to her happen to Spyro, jumped in and pushed him out of the beam of Dark Aether.
The Ancestors, happy for her courage, rewarded her as she, along with Spyro and Sparx, were entombed in a giant shard for three years.
They have chosen to remove some of the guilt that Malefor thrust upon her by purifying her tainted scales. That was her reward.
Great character in Spyro franchise. She wasn't just praised for nothing. She is her own person with a tragic backstory filed with suffering, pain and torrment. She has a really cute love relationship with Spyro, while not being executed well in games, at least I've seen what they were going for and I give them credit for it. She has awsome abilitys in both LoS and Skylanders games. I really love her as a character.
Shame I cannot say the same thing for Skylanders Academys take on Cynder.

Even when I was a kid I just couldn’t get into the original Spyro games, but TLOS series captured my attention and interest almost immediately. I adore this series, I will always love it and hold it close to my heart. I do hope some day that we get a remastered version of these games ❤️
You're not the only one who thinks that, I too also wish for the same thing. I love the TLOS series, it holds a special place in my heart and I cherish it forever. I'm a TLOS fan 4eva.
I actually believed Cynder to be a Wind Dragoness because out of all the Elements there has been including that darker Fire or probably Dark Aether Fire, Wind is veeeery unusual and Cynder was in fact not pure Black but a Greyish Purple color so she might be related to the Purple Dragon or isnt but a half sibling.

I normally skip some seconds with this kind of long videos but here I felt I had to hear everything.
I am so impressed and marvelled with how you resumed all the story of Cynder in half of an hour, including Malefor's known story and narrating every event of her in precise detail. I loved the way you did that, including even the tiniest details like her having her moments.
Cynder is one of my favorite characters in history, by her design, story and development, how she has progressed through the games, to came from being a villain to a heroine at Spyro's side and how the fandom opened to her at the point of make her very important in the same. She is almost or if not the same as popular as Spyro.
While many things are not not totally explained I thank you for adding those kind of details for understanding even if these aren't confirmed or are just headcannon like Cynder being a wind dragon.

Can't wait to hear the Part II, with the story of her Skylanders' and Skylanders Academy's counterpart.
I have high belief that she will be in more Spyro games just cause of how popular she became and while this is not the most popular opinion of Spyro community along with new games I would like a remake or remaster of the legends series. Mainly cause these were my first Spyro games and hold a special place in my heart. I think if they did a remaster they could fill many plot holes, add more lore, and flesh out Cynder and Spyro’s relationship even more. I just want her though to continue to exist in the Spyro universe through future games or through remastered old games. Also love the video!
I would honestly like to see them completely remake the Legend series. The story and world have a lot of potential but, as you said, there is A LOT more that could have been done. There is also the fact that the core gameplay leaves a lot to be desired. After finishing the Legend series, I played Zelda: Twilight Princess, night and day difference in game play and world presentation. That whole game feels alive, villages and cities full of people going about their lives that you can interact with, shops you can buy stuff from, side quests, etc. The pacing was perfect and never felt held back like it did in LoS and the game play never felt unnecessarily linear. Could you imagine getting to explore Warfang after saving it, getting to see how the various residents go about their lives or the levels being more than one path with tons of enemies thrown at you just to make the game last longer? Also, could you imagine if they did a prequel where you get to play as Malefor and your choices determine if he turns evil or stays good? Lots of potential.

I wanna play as a adult spyro but Dang I didn’t realize how dark that spyro game was. When I was a kid when he explained the skeleton apes I was to young to understand and I always wondered why they sounded like the apes from spyro new beginning thats cool😂😂I Like that I miss these games
The Poor Apes I hope they were returned to normal by Spyro.

Yeah even though they were greedy they don't deserve a fate like that and I wouldn't mind some heroic apes who are heroes in The Legend of Spyro Videogame Series since not all of them can't be born evil.
And we know Malefor wasn't born evil he was like Spyro when he was little but something likely manipulated him to his darkness and betray his people I bet the Ancestors are probably to blame for what happened to him but we know they didn't mean to cause it to happen I wish we got to see more of his past.

I love the legend trilogy. It's the reason why I got into the Spyro media in the first place. I like the story of Cynder and she was one of the first few characters I felt sorry for. Being used as a pawn for much of her life, corrupted, manipulated, feared and hated. I won't blame her for the things she did, plus what she did in Dawn of the Dragon serves as her redemption arc, paired with her feelings for Spyro, makes her truly an amazing character to me, in this continuity anyway.
Plus I ship Spyro and Cynder.

Probably an unpopular opinion but I could never really get into the Original Spyro Series. I prefer the Legends Trilogy and would like to see more of this series.
That makes sense, I like the reignited/the OG games for the gameplay, but I got to hand it to TLoS for story and actually captivating me, elemental gameplay was fun as well. Would be nice to see more, though it’s nice right now to see so many callbacks to Legend in newer material. Not a new game but it’s neat
Honestly dawn of the dragon was my favorite fuckin game. I remember I would keep replaying the game cuz just how enjoyable the gameplay was
Ehh individual Elemental Furies would've been better than the Fury Mode, you get the abilities from FM with the Armor anyway so it's not really worth it, Aether breath for Armor would've made more sense and the Elemental Furies are used for that Guage.

You did a great job at covering so much information in a short amount of time and yeah i totally agree an hour long video would have been too long XP Splitting it into another is probably best. It was great hearing her story again and feeling nostalgic! Can't wait for the next one as I haven't followed much of the story since then in Skylanders! Keep it up!

Cynder is my favorite legend of Spyro character. Design wise she looks amazing and I love her so much as a character. Dawn of the dragon is my fav game bc I am able to play as her.

I’ve always wondered what her original element would be. I remember reading that her design was the result of her corruption. I also read that when they designed Cynder, part of her personality was that she loved flying through wind storms and heavy winds, or something along those lines. Which makes me think that her element is wind. Which was implied by Jared.

Her original color would’ve probably been a grey/greyish color. I don’t like the color choice on making her purple as if clashes with Spyro and doesn’t look good on her. If they weren’t gonna give her her original colors back as a why to show she was free from the corruption, the black scales suited her MUCH more.

I was sad that the legend of spyro story ended but there was a fan made comic that contained the series called A new which I thought was a good conclusion and was my first ever fan comic I read.
7:10 this was the hardest battle I ever had in the Spyro games.

I would like a Legend of Spyro 4. It would be interesting to see what the two dragons do next after defeating Malefor and what challenges they would face next.

I really like your channel, and I can’t wait to see it grow into something special. But just as some constructive criticism, I feel you should have done this video in a similar format to the last one. I know Cynder is a special character to us Legends fans, but retelling each cutscene Cynder was in in each game is a little much. If this is a special video format set aside for the most worthy of dragons, you should let us know at the beginning. I feel this video could be condensed more unless your last video was the exception. Another idea could be to separate the videos into series focusing on longer videos over important dragons, and smaller videos focusing on more background dragons. I really did like this video though, and I can’t wait for part two.
Thanks for the kind words and as for the criticism, this was kinda me experimenting with how I want to do videos, and the idea of this is to kinda get people who might not know who she is up to speed. Though, in some regards, I do kinda agree that a structure like the Flame and Ember video like you said was probably the better way of doing something like this, probably will see about making the second part more along those lines and see how it goes from there.
Again thanks for the criticism, trying to make this the best I can for anyone who views the channel, hope to get the second part out by next Friday, but if it was anything like this script... yeah this might take a bit, heh.
On a side note, because this is Legends... yeah that's probs one of the reasons I went a bit overboard on it...
Did you get all of your information from that one wiki link? I thought I was well versed in LoS lore, but a few clips and pieces of lore, like the names of the moons, show me otherwise.

Though mainly with the moons I forgot to put them in the description so I’ve got to get around to that. And thanks! With the slurring that’s something I’ve noticed, and have tried to get out of my videos recently, though to varying affect
@@loreofthedragon I too have read a lot of lore just from the wiki pages, but I have never been able find out the name of the planet all of these events take place. Not once did I run into any name referring to the planet.. Well maybe dragon realm, but that was more like just a continent. Would you happen to know anything of this matter? I would be more than glad to know.

i love Cynder but i always wondered if Malefor needed a dragon to serve him and feared the new purple dragon why didnt he just send his apes after spyros egg and turn him evil with spyro under his control thier would be no1 to stop him. and where are the other female dragons? as in spyros mother? and the other dragons parents?

Well I actually just get it from RUclips, mainly from various different channels other than FrivolousDragon (who I get legend music from) only place I know the music exists outside of YT is Spotify and I think Guide You Home is on the iTunes Store?

Issues with her. Still a hatching and captures powerful soldiers. Cynder vs Terrador and Ignitus could be a great fight, but was rushed.

Thank you! As for what Cynder said... if you mean at the end when Spyro sacrifices himself, then she says "I love you," and that is what is widely accepted by people. Now this has multiple interpretations, ranging from what has been stated by Jared Pullen, the creative head I mentioned at the beginning of the video (keep in mind still that whatever Jared Pullen says is not entirely canon), that this is her saying it out of a more romantic sense; others say that it is more out of friendship.

Hey Lore of the Dragon: what are the other Elements the Purple Dragon should be mastering besides Fire, Electricity, Ice and Earth?
These are more what a purple dragon can master rather than should, but from what we can tell, the elements would be every element we see in the Legend of Spyro trilogy. The main four, aether, dark aether, and wind. I can see them also mastering stuff like shadow, poison, and fear as well but that’s more speculation. As for what they should be mastering like you asked, it seems they only need to master the main four, and possibly aether on top of that once they are able to use it

Just the legend and Skylanders series are connected. All previous games are completely different.

I at least like both trilogies. 💪🏼 Spyro The Dragon is my favorite in the whole Spyro series, but The Legend of Spyro: A New Bebinning, The Eternal Night and Dawn of The Dragon are amazing games too.

Skylanders alluded in the comics they wanted to connect all three canons. This did not happen because the comics were scrapped for cheap cross promotion and ass writing in the last game
