  • Greetings, Historians! Today, I'll be discussing a species added in the World of Warcraft expansion: Dragonflight known as the Dracthyr. Their story is still being expanded upon of course, and perhaps in the future there will be more stories for them. For now, I'll be focusing on the initial stories we know of, and how rather quickly, they returned to the world of Azeroth.

It’s a nice break from constant Spyro stuff. Hoping I did it justice honestly

Good video, have been keeping pace with the Dracthyr story and recognized all of what was described here and the in depth description of the events from their immediate awakening, loved finding this video. There are many books and readable objects as well on the Forbidden Reach that describe the lore of the Dracthyr, Neltharion and the Forbidden Reach in greater depth, if this was being considered for the future.
    (Wanted to add something.)
Be careful of the 'Living Book' though, wanted to place a caution here in case someone did not know that spoilers really can cause harm, reading hurts this book.

My green Dracthyr character Miller hates malygos for keeping him locked up for that long he thinks the blue dragons are all cowards

That would certainly put him at odds with my Dracthyr who yes is blue in color and feels a strong kinship with the blue through her interest in academia and the arcane lol.

As a wow player you mispronounced Tyr's name. It sounds like tier not tire. Think of the Norse god of the same name if you haven't come across him before. A little something if you come across him again for a future video 👍

to be brutally frank here, coming out of Baldurs Gate III. Warcraft lore just seems REALLY silly and pretentious by comparison.... i mean.... jesus this reads like a chuckle inducing parody of MMO lore you'd hear in a sitcom nerd narrate his power fantasy before being snapped back to reality as part of a gag.... say what you want about wizards of the coast. but they know how to make lore that makes far more intuitive sense and is far more straightforward than throwing 10 dollar words at the wall in hopes of sounding "epic" while making everything excessively convoluted as a result..

Should probably just play BG3 then instead of comparing apples and oranges. They’re both different interpretations on fantasy rpgs that serve different purposes for their player base. Not many people give WOW the credit it deserves but let’s remember how many game developers are still trying to create their own franchises that come close to what WOW is.
