Bob is so personable that we often overlook the fact that he is smart as eff. He graduated among the top of his class at his university. To me, it shows mostly in his comedy. Witty as hell.
This is so great! I was 7 when this aired! Every ones grandmas always had this on in the morning when I was a kid in the summer at the farm. Pepsi ( in a glass bottle), potato chips and Barker..: life was good !!!
Dan Barker you're not the only one! As a child, i didn't want anything to do with a classsic show, but when i used to watch GSN with my grandma, she got me hooked on the classics, and i'd prefer this over the GSN of today. It's just so boring! that's why i come to here to watch classics i can find.

3/30/1977,to be exact. The Jumpsuits,Gauchos, & Maxi-Skirts were in style that time. Also the late days of the Midi Dresses,Afterward, they went out of vogue.
When this show was aired on CBS daytime, I did not watch this episode because I was at Pasadena Special Children’s Center at 355 W. Green Street in Pasadena, CA.
Gawddd...Carmen was so beautiful and adorable....in fact, all of those women were downright gorgeous and feminine.. nothing like today’s women.....what the hell happened?
@Nobody else but me you didn't even know the word "leftism" until the 2020 elections. Your head was up your own azz like everybody else until then, ya phony.
Not sure why you can't see the beauty in women today. It's not like there still isn't a sexual magnetism. Unless you're too old to still get it up, or maybe you like men instead, which is okay, but it may be confusing you is all. Maybe focus on Bob Barker instead?
Sadly, that was one of Roger’s games that met the axe soon after this episode.....too difficult to get the right price for 3 items with only 10 chances....YT has a clip from when Roger’s Mountain Climber inadvertently went off the clip...the banter between Bob and Roger is absolutely hilarious...
shows like this show, tic tac dough ,the joker.s wild and the hollywood squares used to air on gsn but don.t still air but shows like the match game ,and the family feud do still air on gsn.
The women didn’t seem skinny and weak looking either... healthy and beautiful hair and figures. I comment all the time to my husband how I love the long blonde haired gals who look like surfer gals. Lol. 🤭

I was 6 and those sure were the good ole days!!
I wish GSN went back to the way it was with ALL classic game shows, not what they have now.
I remember when I finally got Game Show Network in 1998... I was SO STOKED... Mom even let me stay home from school to watch it! :-D

What a Classic Game Show, Love Of Life was a soap opera, that was on at the time, since 1952, wow! I love the 1970s!

10 Chances is currently still in rotation, with the unwritten zero rule. Are you thinking of one of Roger's other games, such as Split Decision?
What a show that was ,Bob Barker was the king off all shows
That first contestant, trying to win the big Buick, was astoundingly cute!!!!

Ten chances IS a very HARD game!!!
When Beth Flemming came down to the row, i thought she was going to swallow the mic

Bob was soo smooth.
So much $420 in this episode! They MUST have been toking a lot LOL :)
Hi David You Have Price is Right 8th April 1981
1:18 Oh my a "pay the rent" comment!
Will Mack Yep cue the Drew Carey phrase.
There are no Drew Carey references until Bobs last show in 2007
First four contestants:
Susan, Lori, Carolyn, Nanette
Johnny Olsen was the first male model on The Price Is Right lol
Boy I wish I lived in that era! Women seem to be different, more feminine and not hooked on psychotropic drugs

It's that Southern California outdoor lifestyle. And people were more conservative in dress and public behavior

26:29 $420 Chaise Win
28:04 $3951 Chevy Vega Win

Great episode. Do you have nay more from that era?
Why didn't Lori get $100 for her perfect bid (contestant's row)?
This was a Wednesday episode.
At the 14:13 mark there were (but we have now) but back then no $1,000 bonus to get it in less than 30 seconds.
It was earlier used in the PM show with Dennis James.
That game show is still the most popular hour, of the most popular Pricing games.
That included the most difficult games.
Lucky 7 is difficult.
The Price Is Right And Treasure Hunt Had Women Contestants.
