I love it. Exactly one day before I was born. The odds are VERY good that my mom was on leave from her job as a teacher, and I was "watching" this one in the womb in Florida. She loved this show.
I used to watch this with my great grandmother & grandmother when I was growing up in the 1980’s & 1990’s. Every time I watch this it reminds me of them yelling at the contested when they didn’t get the price is right.
I was 11 yrs old when this was released..I was such a Price is Right fan as a kid to the point I would make my cousins play like we were on the show..Lol
Thanks for uploading a new retro TPIR episode just BEFORE my Birthday! I realy appriciate this! It REALY cheered me up! As usal the picture and sound quality are amazing!
My cousin and his family had that exact bourbon barrel furniture in their basement, throughout the late '70's. I just thought it was the coolest stuff when we visited them in the summers back then.
It was actually part of the Price is Right repertoire first. It was introduced to TPIR in February 1976......Family Feud began in the summer. They used the cue as the theme because it had a "Hatfield vs McCoy" feel to it when instruments were added.
The story. About the guy that said come on down !!! Rod. Roddy. Story is. So sad. also. Bob grew up in a town rite near where I’m at rite now. He grew up in a very small town called I called. Darington wa. Just up the road from my home
Wow. 39 years ago today. I was 13. I just loved retro Price. The late 70s. I loved back then how they kept playing the cue music for a few min. after the prize was shown, and while they were revealing the game. Wonder if Sandy & Tim are still married?
My guess for each of the 4 Numbers in the Price of that first Car would have been the following. First Number: 5 Second Number: 9 Third Number: 6 Fourth Number: 4
@@lauradevlin1329 Also for each of the 6 One Bid Prizes, I would have guessed the following. Hammock: $550 Model Ship: $253 Microwave Oven: $595 Kitchen Island: $675 Luggage: $333 Sailboat: $830

Very unlikely as obviously nighttime TPIR was never rebroadcast. Even though the tapes from this era are still intact and someone might post an episode now and then for a special occasion, it will be unlikely to find one, unless one happens to come across an old VHS/Beta that contains an episode if someone happened to record it, not wipe it, and of course not throw it away and since VCRs were in their infancy, I wouldn't get your hopes up.
It was only about six weeks old by this airing - it premiered around the Yolanda incident. If you notice right when Johnny announces the retail price of the projection television, the camera pans to the game and you see two stage hands walk form the prize podia to behind the game!
I remember as a little kid, I saw a rerun of The Price Is Right from the 70's. And I remember seeing the Secret "X" game in the same exact paint scheme shown in the episode here.
I apologize to everyone I will stop doing this I'm voice texting I've released long nails natural and they're annoying and I can't text so I hope everything comes out OK they're thinking comes out OK love you all enjoy the show
The price is right is still a great show. Now with Drew Carey hosting the last 10 years its taken on a whole new trend and hes as great a host as Bob Barker. Its time for Bob Barker to go in the ground.
The show still does Pet Adoption Weeks as a reminder of his tenure, and we still hear George Gray say "Bob Barker Studio" during the opening, so it isn't like he's forgotten. His time will come, but Drew seems to be growing the beard a bit compared to his first several years. The Drewcases are gone, you don't see him being silly with the props like he used to be, and he understands the games a lot better than at the outset, some of them even better than Bob.
I love it. Exactly one day before I was born.
The odds are VERY good that my mom was on leave from her job as a teacher, and I was "watching" this one in the womb in Florida.
She loved this show.
That Monte Carlo is the most 70s looking car I've ever seen.
Thank you for editing the commercials.
I used to watch this with my great grandmother & grandmother when I was growing up in the 1980’s & 1990’s. Every time I watch this it reminds me of them yelling at the contested when they didn’t get the price is right.
That bar set and seating group would still be banging cool today.
I was so happy when James won that car and all of those prizes.
Me too!
i love these old shows takes me back when i was a little kid
Mine's more in the 90's era but I'm right with you.
This is a really great episode. Great contestants and even a toast and drink at the end!

What a valuable day's and people .

I bet she really enjoyed those trips!!!

This. Is. AWESOME.
3:02 Yeah.....this sure is 1977 all right. I wonder where that very car is today.
NO kidding worth some money
My birthday, but I wasn't born until 1989 when the show was in its 17th season.
I'm binge watching today. Just learned of Bob's death and I'm reliving some wonderful memories
Theme to the TV Game show "FAMILY FEUD"
It was actually part of the Price is Right repertoire first. It was introduced to TPIR in February 1976......Family Feud began in the summer. They used the cue as the theme because it had a "Hatfield vs McCoy" feel to it when instruments were added.
during summer vacations from middle school, I watched TPIR every weekday morning. Man, I loved that show.
If you are chosen as 1 of the Contestants, which Prize do you hope to win?
WOW 👏 Temptation what a good win seen in a lot it doesn't happen usually it take the prices good For him
Also my guess for the Price of that Bourbon Barrel Furniture would have covered this portion of the Scale.
$1,750-$1,900
When the show was great !! Love the gorgeous Dian...😛
That hammock is $650?! Cripes, I can make one out of macrame for helluva lot less. Sheesh
And those $650 bucks in 1977 are worth $3,350.10 today in 2024.
the price is right
"You can get in your boat and go back to Thailand . . for a visit." HAHA!!!!
Should I admit that I laughed at this (?)
Me Too! But I couldn't help it it was Funny🤣 I do hate to admit also🤭
Love to all😊

No, that's Johnny Olsen doing the Come on Downs. Rod Roddy first appeared in late 1985.

There were two guys that walked out to behind the game as Bob was introducing the game.
Not sure which comment you mean, but this episode was thoroughly enjoyable!
Dian, Janice and Holly.😊 Quite the trio.
That's an ugly stuffed bear!!!!!! Lol
That wheel was definitely tightened up today!

10/26/1977,to be exact. The Tube Maxi Dresses were in Fashion at the time.Today, they still are.
Have you noticed how well dressed the audience is? No sweatshirts, no jeans.
10/26/1977,to be exact. The remaining days of the "Above the Knee" Dresses.Went out of vogue since.
LOL, the car reminds me of the one ASH drove in the EVIL DEAD movies
The games on TPIR are interesting!!!
Feud theme was used a car cue from 1977-83 or so. The last few notes of it still play when Grand Game Is introduced all these years later.
It didn't last as long as a Showcase cue (probably dropped by 1980).
Also old Match Game Hollywood Squares hour theme for cars
They didn't start using MGHS for cars until after MGHS left the air,
Zach Horan
Yep they probably had paid for and figured they should use it lose it
Candy looks like she could be Dove Cameron's mom.
4 of Mr. Heston with 3 Trip to Israel, Spain, & Rome!
dude candy could pass for 2021 if you ignore those retro pants. wudda smokeshow
That 77 Monte was a good prize not won. Usually it's cheap cars.
I’d take either one!
11:18 - Somebody in the audience shouted out something and a buzzer should've sounded and a DQ should've been called.
That’s my mom. Kissing all over bob barker. Yup, that one
Kissy, Kissy, Kissy.
25:14 FAMILY FEUD!!!
i'm in love with that clock game player. too bad she's probably 75 now :).
uhh probably 60 (!!!)(assuming she was 20 in 1977 40 years ago.)
thats scary!! time flies, I guess. She's probably the same age as my gramma.

The people look petter dressed.
They were. When the show first started in 1972, people got all dressed up in dresses, suits, and ties!
And nobody was covered in nasty tattoos and piercings.
Hey, is it just me, or is that the Family Fud theme playing throughout the first showcase?
They used that cue until 1983. It took a whole new set of music to retire it!
Seems to me from 1976 to 1983, everyone was thinking, "Whoops, wrong game show!"
@@millenniumman75 They should've kept it since they kept the car cue from "Concentration".
Upskirt
Does anyone have the nighttime TPIR with Bob hosting, other than the 1980 finale>
That other chick in the showcase was like looks I'm going to have to bid on this bullshit. SHOW ME A CAR DAMNIT BOB
Secret X dates back to 1977? Holy crap!
It was only about six weeks old by this airing - it premiered around the Yolanda incident. If you notice right when Johnny announces the retail price of the projection television, the camera pans to the game and you see two stage hands walk form the prize podia to behind the game!
It actually premiered on the same show as the Yolanda incident.
I remember as a little kid, I saw a rerun of The Price Is Right from the 70's. And I remember seeing the Secret "X" game in the same exact paint scheme shown in the episode here.
Family Feud, Theme music! Nice!
And this Family Feud showcase can be yours if The Price is Right!
Not controlling the pet population yet
No bonus spins
I would have made it $2500 for a green section and $5000 for a dollar on the bonus spin if that was introduced with the hourlong format.
As my final answer, in the Showcase Money Wheel Game, the bonus spins were not added to the show until around Monday, November 27, 1978.
Would you happen to have that historical episode?
+Christopher Howell no but do you think David downs has it
You'll never know unless you ask 'im, right?

Policeman's wife. A tragedy. She seemed like a good woman.
wheres the commercials?
I believe they're on the hour long episodes of the price right
pannoni 8 What was the prophetic comment that bob made? Was it the about the lady needing to win the car to save her marriage??
Bob Barker's fingernails look like they are painted.
Probably manicured. If your hands are going to be on camera, you might as well make them look good.
650 $ FOR A FUCKING HAMMAC !!!!!!!!!!!

Bob Barker exudes the classy, fun and entertaining host. Drew Carey, by comparison, is boring.
