So, once you set up all the buttons and joystick, all it needs is to be plugged into the PS4 Usb Port? And if I decide to plug it into a Nintendo Switch, it will automatically work too?
nice video, I'm not good on arcades, I have a question do you know is this brook 4 will work with any arcade stick kit? or sanwa arcade stick kit? because I'm trying to built my own arcade, can you help with that?
As far as buttons and sticks go regardless of brand your just completing a circuit, so no problem. The only slight issue come from the stick itself. There is usually 5 connections. One for each direction and one for the ground. When it comes to the connections your stand face and should buttons, directions, start, select, and home buttons are easy screw terminals. If you stick to those connections it's pretty easy. There are other connections like the touch pad on PS4 and some other features that require soldering.
hey man i have a question about the usb cable you use to plug it in. Do i only need 1 usb cable or are there like specific usb cables for ps4, xbox 360, pc, etc? and if its only one, is it just some generic 2 sided usb cable?
+FilcoGaming the cable that plugs into the PCB is a standard USB A/B, the same you'd use for a printer. I personally use two with a pass though hub in between. That is only there for storage and convenience, not needed at all.
+FilcoGaming the square end of the cable goes to the board (only fits one way). The rectangle end goes to the console or pc. All the current and last gen consoles use a standard USB port.
Awesome video, Matt. Thanks for recording/sharing! I had a few questions I was hoping you could answer... I see you have a TEK-Case. What style of buttons do you have mounted in it? I can't tell from the Tek-Innovations website what style -- screw on or snap in -- buttons will actually fit/work. Second, the wiring diagram I found shows a ground wire from every P + K button going into a single ground on the UFB. It doesn't look like you're doing that in your finished product though. Is there something I'm missing?
All the buttons are Sanwa snap ins 30 mm on top and 24 mm for the Start, Select, Menu buttons. You could use screw buttons, just be careful not to over tighten and crack the case. As far as the wiring goes, the PCB has 4 or 5 common ground locations. The wire harnesses I'm using are also common grounded. So for the top row of buttons it has 8 quick connects on one side. On the other side it has 5 wires. One for each signal wire and the fifth for the ground. Within the harness the ground wires are combined into one wire. The black sheathing conceals that. Let me know if you have any more questions.
+Matt Hamidy Ohhhh, okay. So there's some trickery going on underneath the sheathing. Now it makes more sense. I'm a newbie to stick mods so a lot of this is new to me. I absolutely love the look of the TEK-Case though, just trying to figure out what color(s) I want for which panels. Thanks for the reply and answers!
+ScarredPredator I assume it's similar to my Qanba Q4 and the wires may have premade connectors on them to connect to the original PCB, I just hacked these off and connected the bare wires to the Brook board...
So have they ever worked on your PS4 and just stropped working? If that were the case I see if there was a firmware update. Can you try on another PS4? I know with another PCB it wouldn't work on one style of console, it may have been PS4, but it worked on Xbox and ps3. Once I shortened my USB cable length it worked fine. Try the other USB port. Off the top of my head that's what I would try. Sorry I don't have a more definitive answer.
nur ekmal so if you mean just bypassing the original PCB and connecting it to the all in one it shouldn't be an issue. I don't know that case at all, so I can't tell you the configuration.
I noticed that you're using a Neutrik NAUSB connector, is that necessary? Can I just connect 1 A-B usb cable from the Brook Pcb straight to my computer usb port? or i absolutely need to connect 1 A-B usb to the Neutrik connector then another A-B usb from the Neutrik connect to my PC??
+nur ekmal sorry I don't understand your question. In order to connect the PCB you need a USB A/B cable. It can go directly from the board to the console or PC, or use a pass-through like the one on the video. Both are perfectly fine. If you don't use a pass-through I'd suggest putting a knot in the cord that way the board is not yanked out of place.
Thanks for the explanation, and you did very well. Sorry for my terribad language since English isn't my native language. i m using razer atrox. Does Brook Universal PCB usb port fits razer atrox existing usb sleeve? can't you give me the width X height measurement for the usb port on brook universal pcb?
Carlos Helder from time to time Playstation (don't think it's an issue for Xbox) updates and you get the 8 minute time out. Brook is usually good at posting a firmware update within a day or two.
Trying to get into the fight stick modding scene. Just curious that particular stick and its components, what is the average cost to make a stick like that? Just curious of start up cost. Thanks in advance.
Ksmooth 2022 so if you build one like mine you're looking at roughly $200. That's case, PCB, buttons, stick, and wiring. If possible try to go to some local or major events. Majority of people there will let you try their set up, so you can get an idea of what you like or don't
As far as all the face, shoulder, and menu buttons just connect one wire to one terminal and another wire to the other terminal. Just make sure they don't touch. With the other end of the wire to to a Ground terminal on the PCB, the other end to the desired command. So that being, A, B, X, Y, LB, LT, Xbox button, or the PS equal. The ground wires will have to connected since there is only like 5 ground locations. It doesn't matter which is the ground and which is the signal. The only place it matters is for the stick. That has dedicated Ground, Up, Down, Left, and Right.
Flash-Sentry it's on the PCB. But that's something that has to be solder on to work. I think there are stand alone LED PCB, but I haven't really looked into that item.
Ok so I have an xtensions 2 player arcade board that I got from rec room masters, which currently has the minipac in it. Can I hook up both joysticks and the 16 buttons with one Brooks board? And this will allow me to plug it into any console of my choosing correct?
MrSilksoul I'm not exactly sure how that both those PCBs would work together. I would think you would have to get 2 Brook 4in1s. I don't think the second player would show up. I'd probably get two 4 in 1s and connect the USB output to a USB splitter then you could plug one USB into the console. You could also ask on the Brook site itself, maybe someone has already done what you are looking to do. Also from time to time you will have to update the firmware. When PS4 updates the board PCB only works for 8 minutes, then becomes unresponsive. You could unplug and replug for a temporary solution.
I wont be using it for PS4. Is that the only time I would have to update it? Also do I have to disassemble everything to update it? I appreciate the response.
MrSilksoul yeah that's the only time I ever update it, when it stops working after 8 minutes. There's instructions how to do it when needed. When I get home I'll look up link. You hold I want to say the menu and Back buttons, THEN plug into your computer and follow the prompts.
The next time I get a chance I'll try it on an Xbox One. I currently don't have one to test it on. Regardless plugging into a XO, 360, PS3 and PS4 is auto detecting. I thought I heard the PC needs some type of download. I'll have to test that out when I get home.
+rnrnrnrn tnrn Works great on PC but you must update the firmware, mine dropped out whenever I plugged it into the PC, but once I updated the firmware with the latest available on the website it worked perfectly. I'm using it regularly to play DariusBurst and Crimzon Clover, as well as Street Fighter V on PS4. Can't help with Xbox One but I hear it works perfectly.
+xodaraP thanks for the info. I've been busy the last few days and haven't had a chance to play with it some more. Plus I'm waiting for a new side panel for my case. That way I don't have to rewire just to update.
Works great on 360 and xbox one.. cant get it to work on the pc.. did the firmware thing. Tried to fool the pc into thinking it is a 360 controller. No such luck 😕
+thecosbysweater 82 sorry I forgot to see which video this was for. Yes it will work on PC. I think I had a issue the first time I try using it on PC. I think I just unplugged and plugged it a few times. Then hit the menu button. That's also on windows 10 other versions of window you may have to install it like a driver.
If you can find one for $50 I'd say get it, maybe even two. Currently it's still around $90 on focus attack. The one for $50 is a kit, which seems to work only for ps3/ps4. Seems just as good, if you don't plan on playing on Xboxs.
So, once you set up all the buttons and joystick, all it needs is to be plugged into the PS4 Usb Port? And if I decide to plug it into a Nintendo Switch, it will automatically work too?
Hey mate, quick question. Is 1K / 1P the buttons CLOSEST to the joystick?
Thanks :)
Traditionally yes. However the builder can put it wherever they want. So if you have a configuration you like go with that.
hello friend you sell full arcade control or you're just doing unbox the product thank you

Do you still have what options you selected for your case from Art?

When you bought the enclosure from Tek-innovations, were the holes for the pcb already drilled in? Or did you have to do that yourself?
D Fins every cut and hole was done by them. I just assembled the stick.
I have a doubt. I own a MC TE 2 and an Razer Atrox. Could I re use the wires to connect them to the board? Will I need to solder anything? Thanks
+ScarredPredator I assume it's similar to my Qanba Q4 and the wires may have premade connectors on them to connect to the original PCB, I just hacked these off and connected the bare wires to the Brook board...
Awesome video! Thanks for the information!
So all my buttons work while using the universal on PC, but my PS4 wont recognize it. Any ideas?

is this work with no delays? because i think there is not enougth power to make all the sistem work propertly.
I know I had to cut out 3 feet of cabke to make it or with the PS360+. I still using the same cut cable on this.
Can i keep both Razer Atrox original PCB and wired them up with Brook universal?
nur ekmal so if you mean just bypassing the original PCB and connecting it to the all in one it shouldn't be an issue. I don't know that case at all, so I can't tell you the configuration.

Yes you can go PCB to console. That nautrix is just a pass though. I did it for convenience.
+Matt Hamidy does the brook pcb usb port fit the existing sleeve?
+nur ekmal sorry I don't understand your question. In order to connect the PCB you need a USB A/B cable. Hi Matt , what about the 8 min disconnect problem?

Matt Hamidy OK thanks
I updated the links in the description, so they are clickable now. Not everything but it will start you in the right direction.
Matt Hamidy thanks
I have been to those sites. I guess I'm just trying to find the cheapest but quality arcade stick case/enclosure lol.
I need help with the ground I have the same board and harness I can't make it work

How would you power led buttons with this? Is it right onthe board?
Flash-Sentry it's on the PCB. But that's something that has to be solder on to work. I think there are stand alone LED PCB, but I haven't really looked into that item.
Gotcha, Thanks. I see where it goes on now, looks like the new version has a quick connect for them.

Matt Hamidy So when I get this I can plug it into anything and it autodetects. Thanks, you've been most helpful.
MrSilksoul correct. Just plug and play. Well you may have to hit the xbox/PS home button. I think it's supposed to work for Switch now too.
Could you tell me how it works on XO and PC?I wanna use it On PS4,XO,360,PC.

My friend how you can do work button touch?
Jonathan Sanchez the touch button has to be soldered in
Thanks bro
delay? no delay?
Short answer no lag. Longer answer all devices have some type of lag. The lag from button to display, is nothing I can sense.
Como encontrar esses cabos com proteção dentro da arcada
Works great on 360 and xbox one.. cant get it to work on the pc.. did the firmware thing. Tried to fool the pc into thinking it is a 360 controller. No such luck 😕
+thecosbysweater 82 sorry but I don't understand why you are using the Xim4 on a PC. It already accepts keyboard and mouse.
Matt Hamidy the brooks universal fightboard allows for using a fightstick on the PC correct?
+thecosbysweater 82 sorry I forgot to see which video this was for. Yes it will work on PC. I think I had a issue the first time I try using it on PC. This pcb dont have lag?
+BlInK 182 I'm sure all have some lag. Whatever lag it may have, it is not noticeable.
thank you bro.
can i pick this up for around $50?
If you can find one for $50 I'd say get it, maybe even two. Currently it's still around $90 on focus attack. The one for $50 is a kit, which seems to work only for ps3/ps4. Seems just as good, if you don't plan on playing on Xboxs.
thats the thing is i do have Xboxs and not Playstations and there seems to be no cheap equivalent for just 360 and Xbone like there is with PS3/4
+Garth Palmer you could go with the convertor. It's like $35
yeah i'm gonna get the 360 to Xbone converter
This Guys Sounds Plastered, lol
