Man I wish I had discovered this mod sooner when it was available. I wish to have my TE2 work with PS4 :(
Hi there, I noticed that this is for the TE2, any chance there is a link for the TE2+? It looks pretty much the same but there is suttle differences I just want to make sure I'm doing the right things.
Edit: I just finished installing it, however my touchpad is no longer working. Is this suppose to happen? just not sure since there is no TE2+ videos out.
Do your LED's work? did you ever figure out the touchpad issue?

I installed this with a Brook UFB to my TE2+ some years ago. It's been working great ever since, but it's had an annoying tendency when I want to switch modes between DP-LS-RS to cycle two times, but only sometimes. It is incosistent in reading both the press and release of the switcher button as an input to switch stick modes -- I could memorize how many presses needed to go between DP/LS/RS if it were consistent, but it's random as to whether it cycles one time or two times. I have to press on it repeatedly a whole bunch of times until it ends up on the stick mode I want, which is a bit annoying but not a huge issue. One day though I decided to unscrew some stuff to look at the TE2+'s mini PCB with a bunch of the top buttons and switches, and see if maybe it was a bad ribbon cable connection or some dust causing it, but I couldn't fix it. no idea why it's been doing that for all this time.
Arcade Shock has been out of the soldered version of this for a while. Is there another retailer that has it.
Looks like I'm just gonna use my TE2 with 6 buttons, that's too steep just to get the other two buttons to work on PC.
Can you update the board using the stock USB or can you only update through the Brook's USB?
Through the stock USB works perfectly.
Do you guys have the 16 pin harness and wires for the TE2+ or know where it can be found, only see 20 pin harnesses on your site
Just to verify. If I don't install the jumpers, the auxiliary buttons on the lid won't do anything, correct? I have to admit not being able to switch between d-pad, left stick, and right stick with the push of the button is a little disappointing.
I just acquired a TE2plus and started shopping for an EZMod, but they're nowhere to be found. Is there any chance of these coming back?

Crazy late question - After installing the EZ Mod on a PS4 TE2 - is there any functionality of the PS3/PS4 toggle switch?
Probably not. It isn't used anymore once I installed the Qanba Obsidian EZ Mod kit. The new switch is just a dummy.
The board in my TE2+ is completely different, everything is in different positions, the usb wires are covered by a thick rubber wire so it's going to be hard to cut them off the way you did and that yellow goppy stuff you mentioned that you have to scrape out, that's not even there, there's a thin card type wire which looks like it's completely soldered, I dunno if that's supposed to be scrapped out, I think Mad Catz started doing them differently to try and stop people using EZ Mod, so my question is do you have an updated tutorial to do these newer ones?
The TE2+ EZ MOD is completely different so its laid out differently. Install is the same minus the FFC for the Touchpad (there is a black tab that lifts up and releases the cable) and you have to trim some of the USB jacket back.
Oh ok and that cable doesn't get plugged in the EZ Mod board, so I can just leave it dangling? (well not dangling, I'll ziptie it and leave it to the side)

Oooh I just clocked, it says there's parts I'll have to solder on the UFB

So I still need to do some soldering? Just to let you know, I'm not good at soldering, I don't have soldering equipment so I'm hoping it's not the case

I know this is old, but instead of putting back the original cable, can you use the USB-B port on the ufb to power everything? Including the ez mod?
About the Mad Catz TE2: I would swap out the sanwa parts for hayabusa parts.
Does the EZ Mod board have the LED plug for the Killer Instinct TE2?
Here's a random question for you. My TE2 (the Chun Li SFV one) has worked perfectly for the last 2 years now and just this morning my R2 stopped working. All the other buttons work so I swapped around the wires from L2 to make sure the button still works and surely enough it does. The only thing that can mean is it's a wiring issue but I don't know what wires to purchase and how to swap those out. Do you have a recommendation on how to solve this issue? Thanks!

I have a TE2 for 360/PC. I’ve installed the components, all the buttons work, Xbox button works, I can even bring up Game DVR for windows 10. For some reason, I can’t do diagonal jump on both left and right side. I can only jump up in SF5 on PC. The crazy thing is on my Xb1 I can jump diagonally only on the left side on SF4 and Samurai Shodown? Also with the build-in Windows Game Controller tool diagonal input is present?
I got two jumpers in the package where should I put them?
Also, all the tutorials I’ve seen online have different wiring than my TE2. there is an extra connector See photos.
And the final thing. I can’t update firmware even-thought I follow onscreen instruction.

If its working in joy.cpl and registering everything, there isn't much I can do. Seems like update issues across the board (making sure everything is updated in windows, consoles, and the UFB). As for the jumpers, did you actually scroll to the top of the thread to see the install notes and picture? I discuss them.... i.imgur.com/EPiZemY.png
For updating the firmware are you holding the buttons BEFORE you plug the controller in?

Yes, but then you will need to modify the case someway.
Is there anyway to get another one of those wires that connects all the buttons to the board? And a usb cable to connect the stick to the system? I see a whole bunch of people selling just the bare bones of a TE2 but no cables.
None that I know of. Best way is to maybe use an ArcadeShock's Modding made EZ kit.

Hi jasen I got your ezmod but I crimped the wires from the stock USB too short and I got some replacement connector and wire would you know how to replace the stock connector as to where the wires go
I do not understand what you are asking. The EZMOD comes with the wires, all properly pre-made. Using anything beyond what is included in the kit is not supported.
Do I need to buy both boards to mod my TE2 xbox one stick? Or do them come as a package.
Did you say you can assign r3 or l3 to the turbo button. If so that's so cool
You can assign the top buttons to L3/R3/TP CLICK/TURBO via simple jumper settings.

Hi Jasen, I have the TE2 Fight Stick SFV version for PS4. I used it regularly for a while but stopped using it for a few months. I picked it back up after the SFV AE release and the stick now doesn't work. I discovered that the R2 Input seems to be acting as if someone is pressing and holding the button. This is the same on my PS3 or PS4. I replaced the button and the problem still persists. If I install the EZ MOD board, do you think this will fix my problem? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Sounds like the stock board failed. The TE2/TE2+ EZ MOD should fix it as it replaces the stock board completely.

If you have the TE2 and not the TE2+ (The SFV one) yeah. Make sure you get a presoldered UFB with it.

I purchased the combo from arcade shock, but some of the pieces were not soldered. in order for the board to work those have to be soldered right? I got everything hooked up correctly but the stick is not responding.
Yes, if they aren't soldered you need to solder them or they won't make a connection.
got it working for the most part, another question. i have the lvt3 for xbone plugged up, but when it comes to the buttons connectors and joystick connectors being plugged in. this causes the stick to not respond. what could be the issue here??
Will this work with the Brook ps3/ps4 board from Paradise Arcade? The one with the breakout board on it? I was thinking of picking one of these up and using it on my 360 te2 since I already have the board from Paradise Arcade.
No, this is specifically designed for the Universal Fight Board.
hey guys im doing this on my te2+ and the connections are exactly the same the only difference is the usb cable dosent have a yello cable the only other cable is the shield comming from the usb? do you connect the shield on the yellow? need hel asap
Yellow = Black = Black. Shield Ground and Ground on the TE2+ was converted to black. So just connect both black wires to the B and the Y terminal.

if I install the EZ board before I install the brooks board, will my stick still work with the original console it designed to work with? I'm just wondering so when I screw in the usb wires, I want to make sure it works before installing the Brooks board.
The Brook replaces the brain of your stick the EZ MOD makes it simple to do. Once it's all installed, it will work on PS3,4,360,ONE,Pokken,PC
I dont think it'll work without the brook, I'm pretty sure its just designed to pass the signal to another board and doesnt work by itself.

I need some help, I have a te2+ for ps4 and I purchased an ez mod and I don't know where to plug in the power cable for the board at the top of the stick. In the video you said it has specific spots for each plug but on mine it's a 10 pin and on the board itself there is only 7 pin, 12 pin and 14 pin adapters. I plugged in the front led cable and I have power going to the stick but I don't know where to plug in the power supply adapter. If anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it.
Nvm, I just realized I purchased the wrong version of the board *sigh* didn't realize there was 2 different versions. I purchased the te2 version by mistake.
If you purchased the TE2+ EZ MOD from ArcadeShock.com all the wires in the stick only plug into ONE spot. If you purchased the TE2 EZ MOD it will NOT work with the TE2+

I purchased my board from paradise arcade. I didn't realize there were two different Versions. I just purchased the te2+ version with the Brook from arcade shock about 10 mins ago
does this board support the madcatz light board for the buttons.
+Chris Wallace - It will have power to provide them but no Haptic Control since the Brook UFB doesn't have that. I will be adding that connector in the production run.
can this mod work with the new brooks fighting board with audio?
If you want to remake the cables on one end (the fighting board end) yes. I prefer the UFB over the audio board personally so I have no immediate plans to make those cables special.

TE2+ is not supported with this version. A specific TE2+ version is being beta tested now. :)

Make sure you buy the TE2+ version from www.ArcadeShock.com and the Player LEDs will work, yes.

Hi Jasen, haven't played on my ps4 for some time. Just updated the system software and SFV update. I'm now getting unresponsive controller and random dropouts as well as the stick say making a character just jump constantly. Any ideas?
Update the Brook UFB firmware. If the controller is working everywhere else... its a Brook FW issue.
Jasen Hicks tried and failed miserably, the TE2 (xb1) isn't picked up by the Brook Online updater, tried on my Mac and a Windows laptop. :(
Its working as a controller though on non PS4 systems (or even PC)? That seems very odd to me all around. Have you tried connecting direct to the USB connector on the Brook UFB? I realize its not ideal, but it will help get to the root of the problem and help us identify where the issue is.
Jasen Hicks not sure what I'm connecting on the UFB?.. tested it fine on Xbox 360 and Xbox One, so must be an issue with the recent system update on the PS4 will try and get access to a friend's pc.. Mac update just isn't happening.
Make sure you are holding the HOME and SELECT button and THEN connecting it to the computer.
