I'm still using my Xbox 360 Super Street Fighter 4 Mad Catz TE-S with a Brook Adapter to play the SF6 demo and it's still not missed a beat! It's not as good looking as this stick but as long as I can keep getting Brook Adapters to update and upgrade to the next gen then I'm going to run it into the ground and then fix it! It was like £200 when I first bought it and it still plays perfectly fine so...
Great video and nice arcade stick only negative is lots of these arcade sticks are exclusive to a particular console such as ps4 or xbox one. Nice to see other arcade sticks that are universal like the mayflash brand.
Angel Flores totally agree, and even certain games are exclusively for certain consoles and sf5 for ps4. Companies dont understand that those minor profit is only short term, they are hurting the gaming community, they dont look at the bigger picture, sometimes companies dont make the best decisions and thats the sad part 🙏🕹❤️👍
The TE2+ is still one of my favorite fightsticks. The only thing it's missing is a headphone port, but that's literally the only negative. At the recent Tokyo Game Show (TGS 2019) there was a MadCatz fightstick on display called the "Ego fightstick". But it's just a rebrand of another stick that has already been sold by a few different companies: LeEco LeGFS-201, GameSir C2, DragonSlay DGS-AK17, GorillaGaming Pro Fightstick. I have the LeEco version and it's actually a really good stick.
Yea I love mad catz sticks, sometjjjg about their designs, it’s so memorable and unique, while brands like Hori, Razer, and qanba all they have done is just put a new artwork and call it a “new stick”, while mad catz had so many different casings and designs for all their sticks, not to mention the customizability, ranging from the side panels, bezels, and the plexi, etc, I really miss the mad catz sticks, the Versus stick and TE2+, are still my favorite sticks of all time
@@JoystickNY yea, i think we've seen the SAME casing design for the major stick brands for close to 10 years? like Hori RAP-N has been around even back in Tag 2 days and the Fighting Edge, nothing different other than no touch panel and brushed metal top, nothing completely, new, they probably just the same injection mold too lol, if you look at the current Hori PRO-N sticks, you can actually see the USB jack filled but can still make out the USB slot. Compare that to the Mad catz sticks over the years, the OG TE1, TE-S, Versus, FIghtstick PRO, TE1 Soul edition with the unique bezel, TE2, TE2+, each and every one of them had unique designs, its a shame we don't see that anymore, so many sticks are so uninspiring and just looks like a box, the only completely new design we've seen in the last 10 years maybe is probably the Panthera EVO? and that stick is a piece of shit lol, nightmare to mod.
Bludika thats is true, i had the og te sticks for sf4 back then, the design and art was totally diff. Sf4 days were the best times for fighting games, great memories 👍

Especially SFV, I'm jut now getting into SFV and it's 2020, I'm so behind when it comes to fighting games especially new fighting games. I wanna lear more about street fighter 5. The TE2 is my second fightstick, my first was a Hori RAP V, and i didnt like how the buttons feel, sold it in 2 weeks and got myself the TE2 2 months after! And i am so grateful that i got this stick.
This stick today still feels like the gold standard of sticks and it's obvious when you see how much de go for even second hand. Classic peice of fightstick history right here.
i have 4 of these very underrated stick so easy to mod and service, the build is better than most sticks out these days only down side is its an odd shape so might not fit in most "normal" sized backpacks but fits perfect in my UDG bag. FYI putting the cable back is easy as if you know how to wrap/coil cable properly

@@JoystickNY they are standard usb aviation cables been around for years and military grade which like most other military electrical components means they will never go out of stock/production. wrapping a cable the correct way and putting them in the TE compartment will not shorten the life of your cable especially data cables and cable holder is long enough for a good fit for life of the cable the cable the only thing that will kill the cable is sending back- charge down the cable, strong clamping on the cable and static. i have seen more Panthera cables fail than TE2 Cables as the TE cables despite looking thin seem to have very good Flexi shielding which prevents tears and strains on cable when it is put under presure so they might of used military grade data cable as-well as the aviation conector but even if one were to fail it is very easy fix.
i honestly like Razer panthera sf5 better, it has nice solid feel. the madcatz te2+ is nice, but has the squeaky plexi when your press hard.. Only purchase my second TE2PLUS as spare future proof fightstick in case it breaks ( PCB has problems some reported).
Nice review. Madcatz TE2+ The most iconic fightstick FGC. I actually have two of these sticks. Purchase one recently - mod the stick with Ken art red clear balltop and other te2+ is stock Ryu art install with all white silence buttons. I am surprise you got this new in box TE2+ in 2019. Amazon Canada selling these sticks $400+ Cdn new ( user reported they were used not new ).. Btw, got my qanba drone mod with sanwa butoons + joystick ( pheakmod link) , good recommendation for portable fightstick for playstation, just usb cable little short.

I didnt regret either , this is going to be a collector stick, in the future you can custom build it with new parts and you will have a great looking case.

Effective wise, both the same, they both have one of the fastest input lag, when i watch tournaments, i see many pros uses both, but in terms of design, i think the victrix is COOLer 😊👍🕹

Greets from Germany I´m also really new to Fighting games and the FGC, I played some Fighting games in the years most time on the PS2 but after a while I changed to PC gaming and ignored the Fighting game stuff over the years, now I´m back and I think I want to buy a Fighting stick but I don't know which is good for a beginner, I tried some cheap ones out in the stores here in Germany but we don't have this big Community around fighting games especially from the corner I come from so there are just 2-3 models and they feel really cheap built. so I searched for some on amazon and find there two sticks: The Nacon Daija and the Hori Fighting Edge, I like both from the visuals but I have no idea which one is better for me, both cost around 170-200 Euro, maybe you have some knowledge about this two and can recommend one? Minimalistic MJ thank you 🙏😊 i always love reading long comments, its like reading great story. Glad your back, your budget is quite high😊, those 2 are great sticks, but not popular sticks. Nacon daija stick is new to the industry, i havent seen anyone use it and i have not yet tried it my self. The fighting edge from hori is abit more popular, i seen it in tournaments and i got a chance to used one for very little time, I like it. Also keep in mind, the 2 sticks you list have totally different internal parts inside, the daija have sanwa parts, and edge has hayabusa parts. They feel very different. Sanwa is more popular among the fgc, if you ask 10 people, 9 uses sanwa, i use hayabusa my self lol. Is there more options you are looking at ? Or these 2 is the 2 you really like based on appearance? By spec and value, the daija has the easy access to internal which most people like. But i feel its abit pricy. I would get the rap4 for 50$ less in my opinion. And something to think about, the ps5 is coming out next year, you may want to go cheaper right now, becuz your stick may not be compatible with ps5, its rumored to have usb-C connection. Maybe a cheap stick for now to warm up and then a better stick next year. Let me know what you think 🕹❤️

I think about the problem with the PS5 at the moment I still use to play on PC and don´t know if I´m going for a console soon but PS5 could be an option. I also saw the Mayflash F300 elite online for about 90 euro and watching your review about that stick right after i finished this comment maybe this one could be a choice for the waiting to PS5?
Yes the mayflash f300 Elite is an excellent stick, the cheapest stick one can get with premium sanwa parts. If anything, you can always sell it back on ebay or something if you decided to go for ps5 directions 👍

Hi, I have been always wanted to get an arcade stick, especially Mad Catz’ Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Tournament Edition 2 for it's aesthetic . Do you know any differences between these 2 models ? I mean there must be something '+' stands for next to TE2. And I have been reading through comments that TE2 has issues with it's components, so therefore should I get the modern arcade stick instead for instance Razer's Panthera Evo. How's the 'response time' of TE2+ compared to Panthera Evo Sorry if I had to ask too much, sInce this gonna be my first stick.
zack enstein great questions btw, i love long comments and questions, keeps me awake and teaches me and refreshes my memory. I have used the te2 , my friend has it. The only difference i really notice is the touch pad, other than that, is just a difference appearance. In my opinion, i think the te2+ is a better buy than the panthera evo, the te2+ is a much better built and more features. The te2+ has one of the fastest input on the market. I m not sure the on the fine details on the response time on te2+ and evo, but there shouldnt be huge difference. I dont have the equipment to test the input response yet. You cant go wrong with the te2+, is going to be a collector stick eventually, gonna be hard to find in the future.
I dont know the exact numbers, but i see qanba obsidians in every tournament, use by many players. And the te2+ has one of the fastest response time on the market, i dont think anyone did any test on comparing these 2. It requires software and equipment which i dont have. I would hope to test them in the future. Both excellent sticks, you cant go wrong with either one. If i was to choose, i would use the obsidian as my daily driver, and the te2+ i would want to keep in the box cuz is heavy and its rare. I want to collect it for the future. 🙏 thank you for watching
fjdcwc832 correct, great question by the way, the buttons are the same, but the difference is in the PCB electronic board, if you do a google search on the inputs lags, the TE2+ shows about a 1-3 millisecond input lag, and the TE2 and TEs+ shows about a 3-5 mili second input lag, but no worries, those are mili seconds that doesn’t really make a difference in fighting game as its too small of a fraction of a second. And there are way too many factors that goes in to play, i even saw a pro player using a 50$ qanba drone stick one time in a tournament. 👍🕹🙏
Hey Joystick NY, I have bought me the TE2 FightStick and it arrived new today. I choose it because of the chun li artwork. But I thought it was a top FightStick and didn't know with the PCB Board. So now I must decide if I turn it back. Alternative I can get the Panther DBZ Edition. But I ask for your opinion. When I want to play seriously does this input lag come in my way negativly and is there a way to change the PCB board if needed? And when you compare the build quality of the panthera and the te2/+ the Razer seems to much better. I appreciate when you share your thoughts on that.
Is it still worth getting pre owned (since it's impossible to get one new) and also what is the hopes of it being compatible with the future gen consoles? I currently use my Razer Atrox Xbox 360 edition with stock sanwa parts on PC and it's solid. But I was just wondering how much difference will I see if I ever upgrade to madcatz te2 or will it be a upgrade at all?
Ean McCraken it wouldnt be an upgrade, it would be just a diff stick, your current one is really good. 👍 if anything, you can always buy a converter to use it ok playstation too 🙏
I got a Madcatz Street Fighter V TE2+ fight stick from a Goodwill thrift store for $50. I tested it but it doesn't work right on my PS3. I flipped the switch for PS3 mode but it just goes nuts on the PS3 XMB menu, flying to the top or bottom (forget which) and I can't even pick anything. The switches are fine. What could be the problem? Are exact replacement encoder boards available?
In my opinion, i would consider that to be mid range, because its missing way too many features compare to qanba dragon, victrix, panthera, madcatz te2 etc. because u can easily take a stick and put in korean parts too.
You right, i try to recommend players to go for something cheaper, i think most sticks are over price, like victrix, dragon, crystal etc , i want players to get the best value 🙏❤️
you can make one or get someone to make one OR get pre made one they just "aviator usb cable" you get get really nice custom braided ones in any colour length via drop i am out of promo codes but should be people with some that are still active for slight discount on them

@@JoystickNY Yup. The buttons are not in great shape but its 100% functional and using it I was finally able to beat Rugal in KOF 2002. I just hope the smell goes away lol
Do a good wipe down with alchol , and probably one day switch the buttons, and it should clear the smell, and u can also put in odor absorb thing inside, over all it will absorb the smell 😊
I dont plan to customize mine, i havent really look in to that part, but i think the top art panel can come off , but i think the artwork is really nice tho. Its a classic stick 👍❤️

I think this is my favorite looking arcade stick right out of the box. Aesthetically, I like that it has a white graphic + white sides, which is rare. All the commercial arcade sticks are just a uniform black color.. It also has the easy access button to the internals, which is great for someone like me, who's not very handy. But I read the Amazon reviews, and there seem to be a lot of quality control issues with this stick. I'm not sure if this product is still supported, because I heard Madcatz filed for bankruptcy, only to repurpose itself as a PC company that sells keyboards and mice.
You are right, madcatz is makes amazing products, but if you happen to get the bad one, it will be sad, they no longer support the arcade sticks, so it is kinda like a gamble, i took a gamble on it 🤣 i bought it also for collection purpose ❤️🙏 thank you for dropping by
I had the SFIV launch madcatz which had a very similar build to this one (same edges), can confirm the built quality is superb, likely Madcatz best product

ddkim28 i currently dont have the equipment to do the tests, maybe someday i can get in to that area, those informations are very to get, because its not something the manufacturer advertise. But dont worry about the input lag, most sticks thats 100$+ with good parts inside are already very good
I owned this bad boy for years now, it might be bulky but it is very light. Sony just announced they will be compatible for ps5 so here is to many years ahead.
neontetra1000 Marketing the fight sticks wasn’t the issue. Madcatz invested a ton of assets into accessories for Rockband. They just couldn’t recover when Rockband tanked.
you should put something on the wall so you dont have any echos in the audio. If you cant buy anything that can stop the echos bouncing off of the wall, you can just hang up a bunch of towels on the wall that is not shown in the frame.
Deejay CriB i like the madcatz te2+ more, because i like the edgy shapes of the stick, it has a futuristic style to it, the razer is more boxy. And i like the flat profile and the curve on the madcatz, the shape is mainly why.

Hi, they both work for the ps4, they both excellent arcade sticks, in terms of effectiveness, they are equal. I would go for the cheaper option, if the price diff is small, then get the one you think he will like more. I personally like the madcatz one better, because madcatz is more classic

i'm thinking about getting into using a fight stick is this one worth getting and as far as modding goes can this one be modded to work with ps5 and is it compatible with PC and steam as well as emulators.
Avonde Rowland ps4 and steam is no problem, ps5 is still not sure they havent release any information on it yet, so dont buy too fast, becuz its not cheap, and emulator is usually okay, if its not plug and play its usually downloading a driver for it, pc is usually not a problem, there is way too much resources for it

Avonde Rowland the Rap4 is a different class, meaning its a mid range stick with less features, the razer panthera and madcatz te2+ are consider premium stick, u get more features on it, like u can open it with out screwing, detachable cable, the Rap4 is equally as good in terms of effectiveness, but it doesnt open up like that or has detachable cable etc, and the Rap4 uses hori hayabusa buttons, not as popular as sanwa on the other ones, if you are new to stick, i would recommend going with everyone , sanwa.

I never considered it a compartment. Its just a hatch to quickly open to swap parts. It ends there. You put a soda can in there, it's going to rattle and ding your connectors
Let's be honest lads this is the ideal fight stick. The only thing that comes close is the razer panthera, but it has downsides (no easy art change) for everything it gains (more aesthetic opening process, holy shit I love the little pneumatic prop thing it gives the whole experience a professional feel). Getting a panthera new for ~£100 is a great deal (mvci art only tho) I couldn't pass up on, though, so now that's what I have. Shame about the art, though.

So i was checking your amazon usa link you had, surprise it is so much cheaper on the link. They even have the TES+ for $130 US. After reading the recent reviews of the stick, alot of people have had issues with the new TE2+, buttons , joystick weren't working... I was surprised you were able to obtain new fightstick since Madcatz fightstick department disappear 2 years ago. Look like you actually got a new fightstick in nice mint package box. Anyways nice collections of fightsticks you been collecting. Getting jealous, only have 6.5 fightstick ( 0.5 = hori mini 4).. I would like to challenge you sf5 one day.
Thank you thank you, i got lucky, it was MINT new, i was surprise it wasnt a repackage, even the card board box was seal and i can tell by the tape that is never been re-taped, and the stick box has all the seals and everything, i was happy to received a mint one. I would like to collect more and review more ps5 sticks in the future, maybe i have to even get the new xbox too because i started the channel, because certain sticks are exclusive for certain consoles. I havent been playing as much, been working, making video, family errands, and sometimes i play hearthstone, dota underlord cuz those are easily to access and short, i am waiting for the new kof 15, gran blue fantasy vs, the new guity gear, and diablo immortal, wc3, so much games coming out, i am just an avg gamer haha, i think you can prob beat me 😊

I just recently imported a Te2+ new non SFV edition. Is it that hard to make more sticks as this ? Accessible mod friendly. NO glued on art work that has to be scraped off then ruined for the new one. Companys Easy access? & Simple art work change? "Oh that's to much ".
ToadFlameBomb i agree, they are really classic, and worth to collect. I am sure in 2 years, they are pretty much hard to find. Even now is slowly fading
@@JoystickNY Indeed they are especially the Original Te2 & its special editions, such as Chun li edition SFIV editon for ps4 . SfV Te2+ is the most common. Though the Te2/Te2+ as a whole are becoming scarce the prices as well are becoming costly.
Razer did outdo them & themselves with razer atrox/panthera. Panthera evo is a downgrade. This te2 plus is the best one out of the mad catz series of sticks when they were around
@@JoystickNY my ps3 te sticks both are stock hardware, and I don't mind ball tops, I just like bat tops cause my local arcades used to be mostly set up with them, (except for the neo geo cabs I think those were ball tops, like 2 of my 3 AES sticks are.) but for sf 3 I feel it's a bit easier for me to parry with bat tops. Either way I'm liking this channel and community

I found one TE2+ listing at 424 CAD, roughly 315USD, from a third party seller on amazon.ca. Not only that, it is virtually impossible to buy any sticks locally in alberta, canada. I suppose ontario might be a bit better, but still...

check kijiji.. in Toronto area there are several people selling used te2+ for around $200 CDN... i was lucky, some landlord sold me good condition for $100 cdn... it was a steal... amazon canada selling used - faulty te2+ as new fightstick. im sure some customers are getting new units ( $400 CDN) , but most arent new based on reviews.
John N 200 for used i think is still pretty over price right now, 400 for new is over price, i think fair price is 250 new or 150 used. Maybe we may see some deals over the holidays and i will pick up a new more for reviews and collection, i dont think we are getting new sticks anytime soon until the ps5 drops, i don think any company will release a stick for ps4 now, it wouldnt make any sense for them as the ps4 is about to phase out

Great video and nice arcade stick only negative is lots of these arcade sticks are exclusive to a particular console such as ps4 or xbox one. Nice to see other arcade sticks that are universal like the mayflash brand.
Angel Flores totally agree, and even certain games are exclusively for certain consoles and sf5 for ps4. Companies dont understand that those minor profit is only short term, they are hurting the gaming community, they dont look at the bigger picture, sometimes companies dont make the best decisions and thats the sad part 🙏🕹❤️👍

The TE2+ is still one of my favorite fightsticks. The only thing it's missing is a headphone port, but that's literally the only negative.
At the recent Tokyo Game Show (TGS 2019) there was a MadCatz fightstick on display called the "Ego fightstick". But it's just a rebrand of another stick that has already been sold by a few different companies: LeEco LeGFS-201, GameSir C2, DragonSlay DGS-AK17, GorillaGaming Pro Fightstick. I have the LeEco version and it's actually a really good stick.
I am going to check those out, i havent heard of them yet, i am wonder what new sticks will be release for the ps5. 🙏❤️🕹
Yea I love mad catz sticks, sometjjjg about their designs, it’s so memorable and unique, while brands like Hori, Razer, and qanba all they have done is just put a new artwork and call it a “new stick”, while mad catz had so many different casings and designs for all their sticks, not to mention the customizability, ranging from the side panels, bezels, and the plexi, etc, I really miss the mad catz sticks, the Versus stick and TE2+, are still my favorite sticks of all time

@@JoystickNY yea, i think we've seen the SAME casing design for the major stick brands for close to 10 years? like Hori RAP-N has been around even back in Tag 2 days and the Fighting Edge, nothing different other than no touch panel and brushed metal top, nothing completely, new, they probably just the same injection mold too lol, if you look at the current Hori PRO-N sticks, you can actually see the USB jack filled but can still make out the USB slot.
Compare that to the Mad catz sticks over the years, the OG TE1, TE-S, Versus, FIghtstick PRO, TE1 Soul edition with the unique bezel, TE2, TE2+, each and every one of them had unique designs, its a shame we don't see that anymore, so many sticks are so uninspiring and just looks like a box, the only completely new design we've seen in the last 10 years maybe is probably the Panthera EVO? and that stick is a piece of shit lol, nightmare to mod.

The TE2 is my second fightstick, my first was a Hori RAP V, and i didnt like how the buttons feel, sold it in 2 weeks and got myself the TE2 2 months after! And i am so grateful that i got this stick.

This stick today still feels like the gold standard of sticks and it's obvious when you see how much de go for even second hand. Classic peice of fightstick history right here.
i have 4 of these very underrated stick so easy to mod and service, the build is better than most sticks out these days only down side is its an odd shape so might not fit in most "normal" sized backpacks but fits perfect in my UDG bag. FYI putting the cable back is easy as if you know how to wrap/coil cable properly

@@JoystickNY they are standard usb aviation cables been around for years and military grade which like most other military electrical components means they will never go out of stock/production. wrapping a cable the correct way and putting them in the TE compartment will not shorten the life of your cable especially data cables and cable holder is long enough for a good fit for life of the cable the cable the only thing that will kill the cable is sending back- charge down the cable, strong clamping on the cable and static. i have seen more Panthera cables fail than TE2 Cables as the TE cables despite looking thin seem to have very good Flexi shielding which prevents tears and strains on cable when it is put under presure so they might of used military grade data cable as-well as the aviation conector but even if one were to fail it is very easy fix.

i honestly like Razer panthera sf5 better, it has nice solid feel. the madcatz te2+ is nice, but has the squeaky plexi when your press hard.. Only purchase my second TE2PLUS as spare future proof fightstick in case it breaks ( PCB has problems some reported).

Nice review. Madcatz TE2+ The most iconic fightstick FGC. I actually have two of these sticks. Purchase one recently - mod the stick with Ken art red clear balltop and other te2+ is stock Ryu art install with all white silence buttons.
I am surprise you got this new in box TE2+ in 2019. Amazon Canada selling these sticks $400+ Cdn new ( user reported they were used not new ).. Btw, got my qanba drone mod with sanwa butoons + joystick ( pheakmod link) , good recommendation for portable fightstick for playstation, just usb cable little short.

I´m also really new to Fighting games and the FGC, I played some Fighting games in the years most time on the PS2 but after a while I changed to PC gaming and ignored the Fighting game stuff over the years, now I´m back and I think I want to buy a Fighting stick but I don't know which is good for a beginner, I tried some cheap ones out in the stores here in Germany but we don't have this big Community around fighting games especially from the corner I come from so there are just 2-3 models and they feel really cheap built.
so I searched for some on amazon and find there two sticks: The Nacon Daija and the Hori Fighting Edge, I like both from the visuals but I have no idea which one is better for me, both cost around 170-200 Euro, maybe you have some knowledge about this two and can recommend one?

Minimalistic MJ thank you 🙏😊 i always love reading long comments, its like reading great story. Glad your back, your budget is quite high😊, those 2 are great sticks, but not popular sticks. Nacon daija stick is new to the industry, i havent seen anyone use it and i have not yet tried it my self. The fighting edge from hori is abit more popular, i seen it in tournaments and i got a chance to used one for very little time, I like it. Also keep in mind, the 2 sticks you list have totally different internal parts inside, the daija have sanwa parts, and edge has hayabusa parts. They feel very different. Sanwa is more popular among the fgc, if you ask 10 people, 9 uses sanwa, i use hayabusa my self lol. Is there more options you are looking at ? Or these 2 is the 2 you really like based on appearance? By spec and value, the daija has the easy access to internal which most people like. But i feel its abit pricy. I would get the rap4 for 50$ less in my opinion. And something to think about, the ps5 is coming out next year, you may want to go cheaper right now, becuz your stick may not be compatible with ps5, its rumored to have usb-C connection. Maybe a cheap stick for now to warm up and then a better stick next year. Let me know what you think 🕹❤️

I also saw the Mayflash F300 elite online for about 90 euro and watching your review about that stick right after i finished this comment maybe this one could be a choice for the waiting to PS5?
Yes the mayflash f300 Elite is an excellent stick, the cheapest stick one can get with premium sanwa parts. If anything, you can always sell it back on ebay or something if you decided to go for ps5 directions 👍

Hi, I have been always wanted to get an arcade stick, especially Mad Catz’ Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Tournament Edition 2 for it's aesthetic . Do you know any differences between these 2 models ? I mean there must be something '+' stands for next to TE2.
And I have been reading through comments that TE2 has issues with it's components, so therefore should I get the modern arcade stick instead for instance Razer's Panthera Evo.

I have used the te2 , my friend has it. The only difference i really notice is the touch pad, other than that, is just a difference appearance.
In my opinion, i think the te2+ is a better buy than the panthera evo, the te2+ is a much better built and more features.
The te2+ has one of the fastest input on the market.
I m not sure the on the fine details on the response time on te2+ and evo, but there shouldnt be huge difference. I dont have the equipment to test the input response yet.
You cant go wrong with the te2+, is going to be a collector stick eventually, gonna be hard to find in the future.

I dont know the exact numbers, but i see qanba obsidians in every tournament, use by many players. And the te2+ has one of the fastest response time on the market, i dont think anyone did any test on comparing these 2. It requires software and equipment which i dont have. I would hope to test them in the future.
Both excellent sticks, you cant go wrong with either one.
If i was to choose, i would use the obsidian as my daily driver, and the te2+ i would want to keep in the box cuz is heavy and its rare. I want to collect it for the future. 🙏 thank you for watching

Is there a difference between TE2, TE+ and so on concerning the input? They are all the same Sanwa buttons and stick right?
fjdcwc832 correct, great question by the way, the buttons are the same, but the difference is in the PCB electronic board, if you do a google search on the inputs lags, the TE2+ shows about a 1-3 millisecond input lag, and the TE2 and TEs+ shows about a 3-5 mili second input lag, but no worries, those are mili seconds that doesn’t really make a difference in fighting game as its too small of a fraction of a second. And there are way too many factors that goes in to play, i even saw a pro player using a 50$ qanba drone stick one time in a tournament. 👍🕹🙏

I have bought me the TE2 FightStick and it arrived new today. I choose it because of the chun li artwork. But I thought it was a top FightStick and didn't know with the PCB Board. So now I must decide if I turn it back.
Alternative I can get the Panther DBZ Edition. But I ask for your opinion. When I want to play seriously does this input lag come in my way negativly and is there a way to change the PCB board if needed? And when you compare the build quality of the panthera and the te2/+ the Razer seems to much better. I appreciate when you share your thoughts on that.

There is slighty, its common with alot of stick, but very hard to notice unless i am putting pressure on it on purpose, same goes for the panthera 🙏❤️

I got a Madcatz Street Fighter V TE2+ fight stick from a Goodwill thrift store for $50. I tested it but it doesn't work right on my PS3. I flipped the switch for PS3 mode but it just goes nuts on the PS3 XMB menu, flying to the top or bottom (forget which) and I can't even pick anything. The switches are fine. What could be the problem? Are exact replacement encoder boards available?

In my opinion, i would consider that to be mid range, because its missing way too many features compare to qanba dragon, victrix, panthera, madcatz te2 etc. because u can easily take a stick and put in korean parts too.

Do a good wipe down with alchol , and probably one day switch the buttons, and it should clear the smell, and u can also put in odor absorb thing inside, over all it will absorb the smell 😊

I think this is my favorite looking arcade stick right out of the box. Aesthetically, I like that it has a white graphic + white sides, which is rare. All the commercial arcade sticks are just a uniform black color.. It also has the easy access button to the internals, which is great for someone like me, who's not very handy. But I read the Amazon reviews, and there seem to be a lot of quality control issues with this stick. I'm not sure if this product is still supported, because I heard Madcatz filed for bankruptcy, only to repurpose itself as a PC company that sells keyboards and mice.
You are right, madcatz is makes amazing products, but if you happen to get the bad one, it will be sad, they no longer support the arcade sticks, so it is kinda like a gamble, i took a gamble on it 🤣 i bought it also for collection purpose ❤️🙏 thank you for dropping by

Hi, they both work for the ps4, they both excellent arcade sticks, in terms of effectiveness, they are equal. I would go for the cheaper option, if the price diff is small, then get the one you think he will like more. I personally like the madcatz one better, because madcatz is more classic

i'm thinking about getting into using a fight stick is this one worth getting and as far as modding goes can this one be modded to work with ps5 and is it compatible with PC and steam as well as emulators.
Avonde Rowland ps4 and steam is no problem, ps5 is still not sure they havent release any information on it yet, so dont buy too fast, becuz its not cheap, and emulator is usually okay, if its not plug and play its usually downloading a driver for it, pc is usually not a problem, there is way too much resources for it

Avonde Rowland the Rap4 is a different class, meaning its a mid range stick with less features, the razer panthera and madcatz te2+ are consider premium stick, u get more features on it, like u can open it with out screwing, detachable cable, the Rap4 is equally as good in terms of effectiveness, but it doesnt open up like that or has detachable cable etc, and the Rap4 uses hori hayabusa buttons, not as popular as sanwa on the other ones, if you are new to stick, i would recommend going with everyone , sanwa.

It’s not the stick. It’s that you can get consistent if you use the same controller, pad, or whatever long enough.
I never considered it a compartment. Its just a hatch to quickly open to swap parts. It ends there. You put a soda can in there, it's going to rattle and ding your connectors

Let's be honest lads this is the ideal fight stick. The only thing that comes close is the razer panthera, but it has downsides (no easy art change) for everything it gains (more aesthetic opening process, holy shit I love the little pneumatic prop thing it gives the whole experience a professional feel). Getting a panthera new for ~£100 is a great deal (mvci art only tho) I couldn't pass up on, though, so now that's what I have. Shame about the art, though.
I agree, this stick is amazing, i m not a big fan of artwork, i actually like the art work on this and the sf5 panthera, probably never want to change the art on those 🙏 thank you for watching

So i was checking your amazon usa link you had, surprise it is so much cheaper on the link. They even have the TES+ for $130 US. After reading the recent reviews of the stick, alot of people have had issues with the new TE2+, buttons , joystick weren't working... I was surprised you were able to obtain new fightstick since Madcatz fightstick department disappear 2 years ago. Look like you actually got a new fightstick in nice mint package box. Anyways nice collections of fightsticks you been collecting. Getting jealous, only have 6.5 fightstick ( 0.5 = hori mini 4).. I would like to challenge you sf5 one day.
Thank you thank you, i got lucky, it was MINT new, i was surprise it wasnt a repackage, even the card board box was seal and i can tell by the tape that is never been re-taped, and the stick box has all the seals and everything, i was happy to received a mint one. I would like to collect more and review more ps5 sticks in the future, maybe i have to even get the new xbox too because i started the channel, because certain sticks are exclusive for certain consoles. I havent been playing as much, been working, making video, family errands, and sometimes i play hearthstone, dota underlord cuz those are easily to access and short, i am waiting for the new kof 15, gran blue fantasy vs, the new guity gear, and diablo immortal, wc3, so much games coming out, i am just an avg gamer haha, i think you can prob beat me 😊
Your videos are top notch bro, you deserve more subs. I think it shows you cult fighting game community is, fighting games dont' get the appreciation. I love the new guilty gear games and kof... I can't wait to see Street Fighter 6 and new King Of Fighters, I hope one day they make CVS:3 or SVC Chaos 2(That'll never happen. God I wish tho.

I love snk2, played chaos love it, is very hard now due to licensing and stuff, those games have too many characters from too many different games, i dont know if they will ever put the effort to make those mash up again

I just recently imported a Te2+ new non SFV edition. Is it that hard to make more sticks as this ? Accessible mod friendly. NO glued on art work that has to be scraped off then ruined for the new one. Companys Easy access? & Simple art work change? "Oh that's to much ".

ToadFlameBomb i agree, they are really classic, and worth to collect. I am sure in 2 years, they are pretty much hard to find. Even now is slowly fading
@@JoystickNY Indeed they are especially the Original Te2 & its special editions, such as Chun li edition SFIV editon for ps4 . SfV Te2+ is the most common. Though the Te2/Te2+ as a whole are becoming scarce the prices as well are becoming costly.
Razer did outdo them & themselves with razer atrox/panthera. Panthera evo is a downgrade. This te2 plus is the best one out of the mad catz series of sticks when they were around

@@JoystickNY my ps3 te sticks both are stock hardware, and I don't mind ball tops, I just like bat tops cause my local arcades used to be mostly set up with them, (except for the neo geo cabs I think those were ball tops, like 2 of my 3 AES sticks are.) but for sf 3 I feel it's a bit easier for me to parry with bat tops. Either way I'm liking this channel and community

watching this before 1080p and 4k are even available. gotta watch Joystick NY as soon as new vid gets released. btw, TE2+ is absurdly expensive in Canada, even used. Maybe one day, I could buy one used from someone that is not into fighting games anymore.

@@JoystickNY there is, however the selection and price is no where close to amazon.com for products like this with small community base. I found one TE2+ listing at 424 CAD, roughly 315USD, from a third party seller on amazon.ca. Not only that, it is virtually impossible to buy any sticks locally in alberta, canada. I suppose ontario might be a bit better, but still...
Ting Tian oh 😵dang , thats too much for this stick right now, is around 219 in the us. Possibly cheaper if there is a sale. But yea, dont pay 315 for now, maybe in 5 years when they are impossible to find.
check kijiji.. in Toronto area there are several people selling used te2+ for around $200 CDN... i was lucky, some landlord sold me good condition for $100 cdn... it was a steal... amazon canada selling used - faulty te2+ as new fightstick. im sure some customers are getting new units ( $400 CDN) , but most arent new based on reviews.
John N 200 for used i think is still pretty over price right now, 400 for new is over price, i think fair price is 250 new or 150 used. Maybe we may see some deals over the holidays and i will pick up a new more for reviews and collection, i dont think we are getting new sticks anytime soon until the ps5 drops, i don think any company will release a stick for ps4 now, it wouldnt make any sense for them as the ps4 is about to phase out
