Anyone that unironically believes that is insane imo, it was an incredibly stupid thing that ONE writer has said, never been confirmed in game, obviously was not planned if it is true, so at the very least is a straight up retcon. So no it's not canon. It was "confirmed" by a single writer, outside of the game, and even after he said it, he said it was a dumb idea. I just want to spread the word that it's not actually, cannon

I know a lot of people weren’t a fan of voiced characters but hot damn I was a fan of Nate’s voice actor. All his sarcastic lines were gold.

How can you not be a fan of a voiced protagonist. It gives the character life. I always hated the character had no voice in previouse games because it feels so retarted if u choose a dialogue option and the character says nothing

Zurgo Pussysmasher He only made one mistake when putting so much enthusiasm into saying “Come on, come on!” When opening your spouses cryogenic chamber. Then so calmly saying, “I’ll get who did this” in a completely different tone, a minor flaw and other than that he’s great!
CheatoMosquito I mean no, that's the art of how he delivered the line. When you see your spouse get killed and your sone get taken from you you would feel anger and despair pretty much at the same time. So when he yells "come on, come on" he yelled it in an angry tone to kinda state the confusion and the rage he felt for just watching his wife get shit. And when he says, "I'll find the man who did this, and I'll get Shaun back. I promise" he says it more in a soft demeanor to symbolize the realization that his wife was just murdered, his son was taken, right before his very eyes. so Brian, the VA, used a compelling, depressed and revengeful tone when delivering that line to just cement the fact of all what just happened. If you get my meaning

I prefer not having a voiced protagonist, but both the male and female voice actors did such a fantastic job lol.
Yeah it’s great, but a lot of people prefer roleplaying options and not having dialog be so limited, so those people would take the trade any day.
Except it sucks only having: "yes", "maybe (yes)" , "sarcastic (yes)" and No as options when doing any quest of relevance.
you know only having 4 "choices" because Beth couldn't be arsed to write/pay for more dialogue.

Actually I found that part to be the coolest and most interslesting scene in the game
@@darthbaker0247 I did like it! But it annoyed me so much because:
One, it's an incredibly creative way to do a noir montage in an interactive medium, making the secondary villain interesting for a change...that you do exactly ONCE in the entire game!
Two, there is no mistaking it for anything other than noir, which is a pretty big goddamn 180 from the first act in which you spend most of your time in either a big action hero or spy thriller (depending on whether or not you ignored the hell out of the whole "you just saw your world destroyed, your husband shot and your baby kidnapped? Right. First thing you're going to do is march in the opposite direction to play sally army for a bunch of bad smelling, radioactive hicks" No!)
I like that bits of Fallout have always had different genre elements, but if the first third of the story feels like it's happening on another planet, immediately being strapped down and forced to listen to Kellogg's backstory feels off!
Which is a shame, because there was clearly a lot of creative talent that went into the set up of this scene, as well as all the other beautiful noir elements with huge callouts to the 30's detective comics, traditional noir books and films and, particularly, Bladerunner...
...but who were CLEARLY not in communication with the deathclaw showdown people developing the ultra patriotic FPS in another building (and possibly another universe).

There are weirder ones, including but not limited to -
Vault 42 - no light bulbs produced more than 40 watts (what sick bastard vault-tec are)
Vault 56 - the only source of entertainment was tapes of really bad stand-up comedian
Vault 68 - 1 dude and 999 women
Vault 69 - 1 woman and 999 dudes
Vault 77 - 1 man is locked in a vault entirely alone with a crate of puppets
