There's just such an oppressive and bleak atmosphere to the whole game that going around and making things worse for the characters feels wrong somehow. I think that's what Fallout 3 has going for it despite its limitations, it conveys how horrific and dark the world of Fallout is better than any other game in the series.

That part really hits when you remember she helped deliver the Lone Wanderer into the world. But yeah, she never mentions that again later even if you pester her in the Citadel.

The only thing I did differently is straight up kill the ghouls harassing Teppenny Tower. I prefer to live there with humans than zombies which means I fit right in 😂 Don't hate ghouls. Just don't want them to be the only people I see where I live
This was really the last Bethesda game were the writers actually had freedom to write stuff like this in, when I replayed Fallout 3 after years, I was surprised how similar in tone it is to Fallout 1, just crippling depressive and empty, plenty of brutal moments, even if you are nice its a small gesture in a cruel world.
The way fawkes seemed so heartbroken when he realizes his “friend” was a big douche is pretty sad. But at least it only depends on how the player chooses to be, and most like fawkes as a companion.
Killing Garza and the other doctor like that is something I can clearly picture in a movie 😭 with li pressing the issue like she is here and then the lone wanderer rolling his eyes, walking toward Garza and just straight up killing him and then saying “there, no reason to be hanging around anymore is there? Leading Bumble to the child slaver... that's pretty dark even for me. I can take killing Bob with fire, I can even take insulting and abandoning Fawkes, but that one is pretty messed up.
Honestly even for my evil play through I plan on being nice to little lamplighters, they got enough to deal with and Humble reminds me of my niece so I can't bring myself to do that.
Once you embrace the dark the shadows behind every light spread further till the light is but a distant star. Killing, stealing from, and abusing those that understand the possibilities within the wasteland is one evil but doing so to those who've yet to understand the meanings behind corrupted intentions is a step beyond the line. When all is said done ask yourself was it really worth it? In a game you might say yes because it's...just a game...right?...right?

The super mutants in this game had a showing like no other fallout game with the badass behemoths, overlords, and super mutants that you actually care for like Fawks and Uncle Leo. Fallout 3 was all the super mutants prime
It’s so weird how different morality was in each Fallout game. Fallout 3 was comic book morality, Fallout 4 was completely ambiguous, Fallout New Vegas was somewhere in between.
Fallout 4 didn't feel moral at all. If no one knows/ reacts to your actions in every other town / location, it feels fake. It make seems like your action are meaningless. Even the ending is the same ending for every faction: boom. Better gameplay tho. Fallout 3: I won't say comic book. It takes much inspiration from the darkness of F1 and the quirkiness of Fallout 2. New Vegas is the one with very serious and ambitious dialogue. It's the only one with the "Wild Wasteland" perk, because if can ruin the tone if you're in for a serious and immersive blind playtrough.
