Even when they're funny, the evil options kind of hit harder in Fallout 3 than in most other games. There's just such an oppressive and bleak atmosphere to the whole game that going around and making things worse for the characters feels wrong somehow. I think that's what Fallout 3 has going for it despite its limitations, it conveys how horrific and dark the world of Fallout is better than any other game in the series.
I mean thats what makes a roleplaying game, unlike COD 4 or COD 76. Though im sure the originals were equally dark if not more so, I have to play those sometime.

Rig a radio to explode to kill an Ncr ranger, sabotage the Monorail, help a centurion of cesars legion to escape, give up goodsprings to the powder gangers, sell arcade ganon to Cesar, to the white glove society and the last thing I can think of is lying to doc mitchell to get medical supplies just to straight up killing everyone you see. Murders megaton, Blows up Megaton, infests ten penny tower with ghouls, kills ghouls in ten penny tower, bullies little lamp light, helps the pitt raiders, blows up brotherhood base, sides with the enclave at project purity. Still beats the games with ' last best hope for the wasteland' by using the infinite scrap glitch for infinite good karma
The only thing I did differently is straight up kill the ghouls harassing Teppenny Tower. I prefer to live there with humans than zombies which means I fit right in 😂 Don't hate ghouls. Just don't want them to be the only people I see where I live
The way fawkes seemed so heartbroken when he realizes his “friend” was a big douche is pretty sad. But at least it only depends on how the player chooses to be, and most like fawkes as a companion.
What the game considers being a jerk: -Killing innocent people:No -Stealing:No -Punching a homeless:No -Do not sacrifice yourself on the ending,instead of that sending a ghoul or a mutant that are both immune agaisn't radiations: YES
This was really the last Bethesda game were the writers actually had freedom to write stuff like this in, when I replayed Fallout 3 after years, I was surprised how similar in tone it is to Fallout 1, just crippling depressive and empty, plenty of brutal moments, even if you are nice its a small gesture in a cruel world.
Fallout 3 you can tell dogmeat you’re going to eat him and kill him. In fallout 4 you can only call him a mutt and then take him as a companion against your will because he has tiny plot armor for a single quest.

Honestly even for my evil play through I plan on being nice to little lamplighters, they got enough to deal with and Humble reminds me of my niece so I can't bring myself to do that.
Once you embrace the dark the shadows behind every light spread further till the light is but a distant star. Killing, stealing from, and abusing those that understand the possibilities within the wasteland is one evil but doing so to those who've yet to understand the meanings behind corrupted intentions is a step beyond the line. When all is said done ask yourself was it really worth it? In a game you might say yes because it's...just a game...right?...right?

I had a colleague at work that was absolutely ecstatic when he found out this game was going to be released. I didn't know about Fallout back then, even though I've been playing games since the eighties. And man, he was right to be excited. They don't make games like this anymore.
When rescuing Red and her friend, its possible to tell them to follow you, and simply just never lead them back home. I take the "long way" back, via the entire main quest line 😂.
