  • This stolen pedestrian roller has been protected by an Automatrics MTrack Theft Recovery System. Can the team track down the stolen machine which is reporting in South Wales. Searching radio signals in Merthyr Tydfil is proving to be a significant challenge for the recovery team. Looks like the bandits might win the day or will the determination of the recovery team regain control. Follow the theft recovery operation to see if the team are be able to track down the stolen kit plus a stolen Transit which was also taken during the theft.

Aberfan was the site of a catastrophe in the 60s in which a coal spoil tip collapsed onto a school, killing hundreds of children and many adults. It’s was a massive tragedy and as you can imagine, had a profound effect on the area - it’s likely that many of the headstones you saw were for those lost during the disaster.

Unfortunately, as a result of 13 years of cuts, they have to consider the likelihood of successful prosecution. The roller had been outside and any forensic evidence was likely to be compromised. It’s therefore not effective use of money to recover it for forensic investigation as it is unlikely to yield anything of use.

That was a good one - nothing on a plate there like a lot of others - just had to grind it out of cell masts and some RF. It's a shame that the police don't say things like - have the guy who "rented" it say there is a problem and get the bandit to come and fix it or take it away and then nab him.

Why can't he be had on receiving stolen goods ? no wonder there's so many thefts nowadays - crooks are laughin as they know they'll not investigate !

The "rental guy"-if he was the thief-would be wise to take his payment, throw away the burner phone, and never return. I can't imagine he'd be stupid enough to come back 6 weeks later to collect stolen property, never mind fixing it. He surely abandoned it in place.
Often the people on site have a story about how the equipment was dropped off. It could be they are not always lying through their teeth. This bloke for instance, may have thought he was legitimately renting the equipment. He could be a victim himself. He paid and never got to use it.

@@Starchface Exactly, just because he received stolen goods probably for a pittance, in cash from a stranger doesn't mean he knew it was dodgy. He's obviously the victim here, have you ever thought of becoming a detective 🤣

@@tttt4029 He stated he was renting the equipment from a guy who came and delivered it. The other equipment at the site was found to be legitimate. Clearly you have all the answers. Have you thought of becoming a judge?
