Hilarious video, and some good consumer info in amongst the chaos. Much like the array of chains, locks and assorted ironmongery that I drape my motorcycle in though, they seem to mostly be deterrents rather than able to stop a professional with intent. It's a case of 'make them nick your neighbour's car instead'. Still good to have though, especially if you don't like the neighbour.
Yup. A planned theft would just have the car on the back of a loader and gone. But these stop or at least hinder opportunistic scum. I heard with the disklock the scum fill the back in with spray foam. No more spinny in seconds.
Well in the end, if they want it, you'll loose it at some point. But exactly as you say, it's about making them think it'll take to long for them to steal your car (in this case) and have them go for any other car instead. About 10 years ago i had a car stolen from me, it wasn't a very special car, not worth a lot of money and i never thought someone would nick it. I was very suprised when i got back to te place i parked my car and discovered another car was on the spot i parked mine. It was an old cheap shitbox i used as a sort of work van (Alex probably knows what i mean now) but someone saw my old '97 Astra Wagon and figured they needed it more than i did. I use a stop lock as it takes no space to slide it into the back footwell when your not using it & they stole my car but had to cut through the steering wheel to do it. Also after speaking to an ex car thief I was told they use the length of the steering lock as leverage to break the integral steering lock.but with keyless entry they don’t need keys to start or get the alarm to disable & the integral steering lock also is disabled & yes the ford keyless is so bad you might as well leave the doors open. No cost anti theft for any vehicle - pull the fuel pump, and or start fuses. Can also get a battery quick disconnect and fuel cut off switch, those cost some minor monies
This is what I'm thinking too. My hyundai was stolen and recovered with $2100 of damage. Geico victimized me again by only paying 1/3 the cost to repair. PD said get the Club but that looks easy to break. So disabling the vehicle makes the most sense.

You can snap most steering locks by hand. You need your pal in the pessenger seat to put his foot across and help you turn the wheel whilst you pull from the outside. I only recommend full face locks as someone I know tried cutting a few and never got them off. Pedal boxes are also very very difficult to get off.

The first 2 are a waste of time. The can be removed quickly by cutting through the steering wheel, rather that trying to break the lock off. I live in a very high risk area for car theft and i have had my disklok for two years and i lock my car everywhere i go and am militant with locking it every night at home and have a special hide spot for my keys - the lock is excellent and i havent had my car stolen - the other day when i went shopping i saw two teen car thieves eyeing off my car (it is a nice Audi and tempting) but they saw the lock and didnt bother trying
Yes Captain, you should have made it to the nearby runway and not gone in the river. We established that after the 18th try. Give these locks a break. The second one you spent a day and made more noise than construction on Golden Gate bridge.
Back in the day my grandad had a Sierra with the big yellow and grey stop lock that was insurance approved. They broke it off the steering wheel and then used it to snap open the iron gates at the end of the drive. We did end up with the car back after the Manchester police heard the car on Philips Park, the local park, being screwed to high heaven. It surprisingly undamaged and with a few insurance repairs returned to him. We kept the car for a few years after and eventually it became mine. Unfortunately it was myself that ended up scraping the car and fitted the wheels and tyres to a mk1 fiesta. I could to describe the next 78 vehicles I've owned but I won't bore you with that ...... or should I?
Fiesta ST ownership in a nut shell in the UK. Steering lock isn't enough security and adding more layers of security such as immobiliser and kill switch is a must now Sometimes they are just visual deterrents and often slow the theifs down but not stop them. Worst case, your pride and joy will be dragged away or your house broken into for keys
My fiesta ST was stolen with a DiskLock on. They drove it onto a housing estate around the corner and tried to use a grinder to get it off (they couldn't). I found it the next morning with the lock still on but all the contents gone along with the drivers window. Great lock as they couldn't get it off but now have a bollard to stop them driving off with it still on
its always a Fezza that gets nicked. My beloved got stolen a few years back. You would think ford would at least try to make them slightly hard to steal.
I had two diskloks. I only have one now. Misplaced the keys for my daily and went looking for the spares. Turns out I had 3 keys for one disklok and only 1 for the lock on the car. Tried to yeehah it off, tried a crow bar, hammer, etc. Ended up cutting it off with a grinder. Not exactly quiet or inconspicuous. Couple of months later the lost keys turned up. The disklok is the only steering lock I'd bother with.
The first 2 locks can be removed in 5 seconds, instead of trying to cut through the lock, just get the hacksaw and make 1 cut through the steering wheel ring, slides right out. Couldn’t stop laughing throughout the video, best thing I have watched all week!!!
Ive got the stoplock pro elite, you'll need to come tooled up to get it off which stops opportunist thieves, obviously someone determined enough will get the car if they want to but its about making it difficult so theymove onto another target.
Car you don't care about = Shit lock Car you use to get about but it's a shit box = £50 lock Pride and joy = Disklok Depends on what you're protecting. With a lot of modern cars, a lot of them have keyless entry, or OBD that's accessible by smashing a window, plugging in a flash tool and bosh...you've got keys to the car and the owners keys no longer work (there's been Focus RS thefts using this!!). Nothing is impossible to steal, but it can be beyond worth doing. Most criminals don't care about being caught, and those stealing say...a Focus ST/RS, Mustang, Ferarri, Lambo, a classic car of some sort or what have you, will come armed and prepared to attack the owner if necessary. If you see someone stealing your car in your drive, call 999 and do what you'd deem necessary. Remember, reasonable force is legal...and if someone is trying to kill you, it's perfectly reasonable to kill them in defence!
LOL, when you put the basic red club in try to install it into the edge of the window/corner piece, can't spin without breaking the window. some can be extended to area where floor meets console, cannot move that either. Also try to put the key of the lock away from you.

Your brakes are probably the strongest parts of your vehicle. It's not easy to cut through nor recommend if getting away safely is a priority lol. Loved this, though, as f** brilliant work as you guys need to do more of these. :)
most thieves don't go for the locks if they are there but the wheel itself, cut through and remove
Not only is this informative but it's also comedy gold!
'Two criminal masterminds' 🤣
Taylor on the verge of pissing himself had me on the verge of pissing myself. Don’t think the criminal life is the one for you lads.
Is it still going strong
Since most crime, I think around 90% or so, are opportunity crimes, the locks are probably an effective deterrent
Yes Captain, you should have made it to the nearby runway and not gone in the river. We established that after the 18th try. Give these locks a break. The second one you spent a day and made more noise than construction on Golden Gate bridge.
nothing but chaos from start to finish, and i bloody love it
Back in the day my grandad had a Sierra with the big yellow and grey stop lock that was insurance approved.
No
One of the funniest things I've watched this year haha
Fiesta ST ownership in a nut shell in the UK.
Steering lock isn't enough security and adding more layers of security such as immobiliser and kill switch is a must now
Sometimes they are just visual deterrents and often slow the theifs down but not stop them.
I have a switch connected to the clutch pedal, good luck finding it!
I was crying from laughter from that driving with the lock on 😂
Made my day boys
Taylor Is always a treat to see🤣🤣🤣🤣
I view steering locks as more of a visual deterrent for the chancer type thief than stopping a professional thief.
This looked so much fun to film 😂😂😂👍even funnier to watch boys
I had two diskloks. I only have one now. Misplaced the keys for my daily and went looking for the spares. Turns out I had 3 keys for one disklok and only 1 for the lock on the car.
Tried to yeehah it off, tried a crow bar, hammer, etc. Ended up cutting it off with a grinder. Not exactly quiet or inconspicuous.
Couple of months later the lost keys turned up.
The disklok is the only steering lock I'd bother with.
From speaking to thieves they didn't bother with cars that had disk locks.
The most effective thief deterrent is that Vauxhall badge
The first 2 locks can be removed in 5 seconds, instead of trying to cut through the lock, just get the hacksaw and make 1 cut through the steering wheel ring, slides right out.
Couldn’t stop laughing throughout the video, best thing I have watched all week!!!
You've been rumbled! 😉😆
Rumbled by sheriff Jon Burnell!
Always nice to have Taylor in the vids. Brilliant one this was.
Ive got the stoplock pro elite, you'll need to come tooled up to get it off which stops opportunist thieves, obviously someone determined enough will get the car if they want to but its about making it difficult so theymove onto another target.
Video worth it just for Taylor's laugh!
So funny I showed the whole video to my wife, who couldn't give a toss about cars and she loved it 😂
Car you don't care about = Shit lock
Car you use to get about but it's a shit box = £50 lock
Pride and joy = Disklok
Depends on what you're protecting.
Oh my god, that horn!! Your tears had me in tears! So genuinely stupidly funny!!
AutoAlex = How to break in to a car and steal it.
Advertiser friendly.
I haven’t laughed this much at a RUclips video in ages. Top job 😂
The best theft prevention is not parking in or around Birmingham 😂
Or London
LOL, when you put the basic red club in try to install it into the edge of the window/corner piece, can't spin without breaking the window. some can be extended to area where floor meets console, cannot move that either. Also try to put the key of the lock away from you.
One of the funniest videos I've seen in a while! Laughed my ass off boys 🤣
Can i just have a moments appreciation for Alex's muscles, the man spend time in the gym, nuf respect 👌👌
02:05 hey neighbors, just tryin' sth, hold on🤣
Please keep these videos up, brightens up my day 👍
The horn is a paid actor haha
When a product test becomes the funniest video on RUclips... 😂😂😂
LOL this is amazing production value. Haven't laughed this hard in a while!
One Word; Chaos
This just made my lunch break a whole lot better, thank you gentlemen
Taylor is a very entertaining addition to your channel.
The way they were treating the car hood! 😂 Damn
