I don't know but I feel like "cute" and "hot" looks are both equally attractive, when understood how to take full advantage of them. Some people even prefer this so called "cute" and "innocent" aestethic as it tends to create cheerful aura plus it is proven that people with this type of look (considering they often have round faces with big doe eyes etc) age better when compared to their sharp featured, angular faced counterparts. Also, when it comes to men, the so called "female gaze" kickes in, and it explains how some women prefer feminine soft features over strong, masculine ones. Of course it is all matter of preference and I feel like they are equal in terms of attractiveness.

I have a theory on the western ideal of female beauty. Women are the main consumers of media with both male and female models. You have noted a number of times on the channel that western female models have more masculine characteristics particularly regarding the eyes, fwhr, and jaw structure. I think women are showing a preference for female faces that actually look like men because that is what women really want to look at. Everyone then confuses that phenomenon with some different western beauty standard. Meanwhile men are basically not asked what they actually want because they don't consume much media with models. It would be interesting to see a comparison of say pron stars or other studies where men were asked what facial characteristics they found more appealing.
I've never thought about it this way, you're 100% right, straight women and gay men run the modeling industry for decades and both are are attracted to men/masc. If you even look at older 70s 90s models (Naomi, Kate moss, Yolanda hadid) their faces look more feminine than today's runway models who straight up look like men (not trying to be rude) I've heard so many guys call models ugly, they are more attracted to the Selena gomez/beyonce than the Cara delevigne, and most men are attracted to normal weight/ curvier women than extremely skinny "man" looking bodies that many runway models posses, all the popular corn female stars & highest views in corn sites are with either slim thicc women or normal sized or fit women with a little meat here and there in their thighs & boobs. Extremely big boobs or Big boobs is a must & takes 90% of straight corn views & searches, while models are extremely flat, I've always wondered why models are the attractive ones when most men will prefer the nearest opposite, the corn searches are always "big boobs blonde" "big butt latina " "big booty ebony" "busty step mom" "thicc goth" I've NEVER SEEN "extremely skinny" "very flat" "tall " Before anyone argues, I believe sexual prefence is the highest form of someone's desire. why didn't it dawn on me that gay guys & straight women set the standard in the modelling industry, it's still women & gay guys that run the male modelling world, it's not suprise that the women will look like them...
@@iidentifyasaPSLGoddess Also important to note that gay men and straight women have widely different standards for men as based in numerous studies as well. Would love to see a breakdown of Austin Butler's face. He seems to have no notable facial features, but altogether his face is very nice to look at. Great job!
He have a lot of notable face features, its actually the combination that makes him look a bit meh. He have Hunter eyes, deep set in the scull, nice strong chin, good forehead and hair, nice low eye brows, and full lips, specialy the lower one. The problems are that his eyes are too close together, his jaw line is a bit off, his face is a bit longer and not enough wide for the ideal proportions and ofc his nose - he have cute little nose. His over all features are masculine but his nose would look better at the face of a woman. If the nose was the same shape but bigger, and his eyes were further appart - then he would be amazing looking.
@@lidaboy You have drank the Kool-Aid of the critical race theory. There are plenty of white people that no one perceive as attractive. But your hate will keep you blind to the facts...
I wonder whether some ethnicities have higher/lower levels of FWHR, and whether this can contribute to the subconscious bias and racial prejudice people feel when they see someone. I often get told that I look very intimidating, unapproachable or that I have RBF, and sometimes I am even treated negatively because of it. For a long time I attributed that to racial bias, fear of 'different' people, etc.. Now I'm wondering whether it's less about skin colour and more about my facial composition.
to answer your question, the Race of people most likely to have higher levels of FWHR are Asians(on average) because the Asian Zygoma/cheekbone projection tends to be more forwardly grown and protrudes outwardly which usually prevents Asians from having the long narrow horseface skull that tends to afflict Caucasians and Blacks more often due to their cheekbones being closer to the face, but because of the cheekbone positioning this can lead Asians to have overly rounded skulls which is why Asians have the reputation of looking "childlike" with what I call chipmunk cheeks, but remember this is on average and not true for every single Asian person hope this helped answer your question

As a person who like cute ones.... I have this question that who told you that being cute is not attractive? People have personal preferences some like cute, some like hot, at the end both look attractive. Never understood why men think looking cute and young is bad.
I'm confused because I've been called both cute and hot. I guess it's possible to be both but it's hard to measure whether people call you cute/hot based on facial features or behaviour
I'm too. I'm a woman and have a ratio of 2. Makes sense because my lower face is 6cm, middle face is 5cm and forehead 6cm, but nobody should call me cute according to this video?
I have a very low facial width to height ratio of around 1.35. I'm what most people would consider a stereotypical "loser": I work a low income job and suffer from social anxiety which caused me to develop poor social skills and low self esteem. I was never good at sports in school and would be considered the "quiet kid" without many friends. Dating is tough as I've never really had a woman express romantic interest in me. I know this is anecdotal but what's discussed in this video seems to corelate with my experience.
Poor craniofacial development results in low fwhr, all people are supposed to have it in the healthy 1.8 range, even people with longer faces in general.
Bro, I literally have a craniofacial disease that I'm getting surgery to correct called hypotelorism, which means my eye sockets fused about 7-8mm too close together, as well as rotated maxilla/mandible making my midface even longer, and my fwhr is still over 1.6 (still very low). If that is really your fwhr, I would assume you have the same problem but more severe. Yours might even be severe enough to get surgery covered by insurance.
I noticed that in some of the faces you've taken the vertical line to the Middle where the lips meet at the mouth, the middle of the lips, and other ones it goes to the top of the upper lip where the philtrum ends -which one is correct?
It’s more accurate to do it at the middle of the lips cause u can get very different measurements depending on upper lip height and volume while virtually everybody got the same distance of middle of the lips

Not necessarily, just look at the most beautiful woman in history and you will see that the majority of them don’t have very compact faces like Miranda Ker or Emilia Clarke, they mostly have slightly longer mid-faces like Monica Bellucci , Rihanna, Marilyn Monroe and Hedy Lamar.

People should really be grateful for having a “cute” rather than “hot” face, because at least you’re “cute”. What more do you want? It’s better than being neither and I’m sure a lot of guys wish they were “cute”.
As an asexual without a lot of empathy, it's always interesting to try and see if I'm "right" about what looks more or less attractive. "okay so they just made him...look better? right?"

Hello, sir can you maybe share your studies (if there are any) on that so-called "ugly man charisma"? I find that topic really interesting. By ugly I mean Adrien Brody is handsome in the movie "Pianist" despite him being an ugly man.
I'm a girl and I think Adrien Brody is very handsome. I tend to be attracted to men with a more delicate, slender look in their face, like Brody's. He has sultry eyes and an elegant bone structure. Typically masculine traits like, idk, a Clark Kent jaw do nothing for me... Well, maybe not nothing, but very little. Another example, David Bowie was extremely attractive for me, and he had a similar vibe to Brody. However, not all my girl friends would think the same - we are more or less split in half, some of them like the typical masculine traits, as the ones shown in the videos of this channel, while others like me tend to gravitate to more delicate, almost "feminine" ones.
It’s interesting to listen to this but it does not play out in reality. If you look at the mug shots of various criminals you will see every kind of face and facial proportion imaginable. It definitely does not have a pattern regarding appearance.( Except in some cases of ethnicity). And as far as sensing if someone is dangerous or not usually that’s a feeling that you get about a person not there look precisely, more about their vibe.
Wrong. Men actually have longer faces on average than women. As in a longer chin and forehead. There's no evidence to support midface length being a sexually dimorphic trait. In some cases, women actually have higher ratios than men on average. And other ape species don't have particularly high ratios either. Almost all have elongate midfaces.
Being cute in the West really doesn't bring you any popularity among young hot women. You will only received attention from women who are 50+. In Asia however you will be treated like a kpop celebrity lol.
Agreed I’m also more into cute people as an Asian…. I just don’t feel a connection with hot people…..maybe cause Asians look cute themselves and I’ve heard people with similar features are more attracted to each other.

It might be out of place... but would you do one of this days an analysis of Syd Barret face... specially... his eyes... gosh he was a tormented soul and pure talent an beauty... as I can see.. in his youth he had that classical beauty, effortless, almost careless... reminds me somehow to Oscar Wilde. They both had that narrow face... not very "manly" for todays caveman standarts... but etereal, demi god like, aristocratic.
I second this comment, i absolutely love Syd Barrett and what he brought to this earth when he was alive although he sadly was a tortured soul. A video on him would be so interesting.
Lmao, I love how you put "cavemen" and "todays standards" in one sentence. But I will give you short analysis anyway. He actually have a pretty standard model face. Strong chin, long face, pointy nose. He is a typical pretty boy. What is different are his eyes. They are deep set in the scull, "hunter eyes", but with negative tilt - people with negatve tillt are seen as looking tired. Also the shape of his eye brows is pretty feminine and you can see the white of his eyes , above and under his iris - that gives more scared, and "bulging eyes " look. In short - he have very traditionally masculine face with very feminine and tired looking eyes. And thats whats probably woman find attractive lol. He looks pretty similar to the actor Cillian Murphy, and this channel have a video on him, you can check out.
Here's an anecdotal evidence for this My face is square like a brick And back when I got hit by a car, and flung across the street like a rag doll, I had only some road-rashes and a minor toe fracture I did hit the sidewalk head first at fool speed, (so they say, my only memory was walking up in the hospital hours later) and nothing happened, a face swallowing, an impact blackout and that's it Sure correlation is not causation, but it happened

@Abc Defgh but my face is a wide heart, and im a 5head, so all the attention isn't even going to my actual face, just to the widest parts and its not fun

your objective take on beauty is very refreshing and i like it very much
I have a theory on the western ideal of female beauty.
Quite a good point
No.
@@sm3675 lol y
I've never thought about it this way, you're 100% right, straight women and gay men run the modeling industry for decades and both are are attracted to men/masc. If you even look at older 70s 90s models (Naomi, Kate moss, Yolanda hadid) their faces look more feminine than today's runway models who straight up look like men (not trying to be rude)
I've heard so many guys call models ugly, they are more attracted to the Selena gomez/beyonce than the Cara delevigne, and most men are attracted to normal weight/ curvier women than extremely skinny "man" looking bodies that many runway models posses, all the popular corn female stars & highest views in corn sites are with either slim thicc women or normal sized or fit women with a little meat here and there in their thighs & boobs. Extremely big boobs or Big boobs is a must & takes 90% of straight corn views & searches, while models are extremely flat, I've always wondered why models are the attractive ones when most men will prefer the nearest opposite, the corn searches are always "big boobs blonde" "big butt latina " "big booty ebony" "busty step mom" "thicc goth" I've NEVER SEEN "extremely skinny" "very flat" "tall "
Before anyone argues, I believe sexual prefence is the highest form of someone's desire.
why didn't it dawn on me that gay guys & straight women set the standard in the modelling industry, it's still women & gay guys that run the male modelling world, it's not suprise that the women will look like them...
@@iidentifyasaPSLGoddess Also important to note that gay men and straight women have widely different standards for men as based in numerous studies as well. How do you look aggressive and intimidating if I may ask ?
I wonder whether some ethnicities have higher/lower levels of FWHR, and whether this can contribute to the subconscious bias and racial prejudice people feel when they see someone. I often get told that I look very intimidating, unapproachable or that I have RBF, and sometimes I am even treated negatively because of it. For a long time I attributed that to racial bias, fear of 'different' people, etc.. Now I'm wondering whether it's less about skin colour and more about my facial composition.
That's a very good observation 🤔
to answer your question, the Race of people most likely to have higher levels of FWHR are Asians(on average) because the Asian Zygoma/cheekbone projection tends to be more forwardly grown and protrudes outwardly which usually prevents Asians from having the long narrow horseface skull that tends to afflict Caucasians and Blacks more often due to their cheekbones being closer to the face, but because of the cheekbone positioning this can lead Asians to have overly rounded skulls which is why Asians have the reputation of looking "childlike" with what I call chipmunk cheeks, but remember this is on average and not true for every single Asian person hope this helped answer your question

@@Kayori.jp. that alone wouldn't do it, if I have to guess you probably have larger eyes compared to other Asians, most Asians tend to have the reputation of looking unfriendly and unapproachable due to not only having a wider face on average but also lacking a upper eyelid crease which makes eyes look smaller therefore more intimidating
My husband is Nordic and Hungarian and has high cheekbones, low brow, and strong jawline with a wide face. People are always scared to approach him and tell him that they're shocked that he's such a fun guy when he starts talking. They assume he's dangerous or a meathead. Poor craniofacial development results in low fwhr, all people are supposed to have it in the healthy 1.8 range, even people with longer faces in general.
@@faiden1273 yeah holy crap there has to have been a mis measurement I haven’t heard of that before so hard to imagine idk

Hello, sir can you maybe share your studies (if there are any) on that so-called "ugly man charisma"?
I find that topic really interesting. By ugly I mean Adrien Brody is handsome in the movie "Pianist" despite him being an ugly man.
I believe Adrien Brody is one of those people who are considered uniquely beautiful like Adam Driver, Benedict Cumberbatch and Cate Blanchett.
@A J that also happened to ryan gossling at the movie The Notebook. He got cast because the director thought he wasn't handsome
