Awesome video Dan! I took some notes and takeaways, sharing it with y'all: Smart creators will focus less on follower count and more on building meaningful relationships through an owned email list. They'll use short-form content (tweets, reels) to attract new followers, medium-form content (threads, carousels) to establish credibility, and long-form content (newsletters, podcasts) to nurture true fans. Social media serves as a testing ground for ideas, and exponential growth happens through viral content that is leveraged consistently. Building an audience requires a mix of organic efforts, collaborations, and strategic paid amplifications to create sustainable, long-term growth.
Nice! The quote that most people on social media are distracted but we can come in and bring them value to get away from meaningless distractions was a real paradigm shift for me.
Thanks for the notes! When Dan is talking about "threads" does he mean the FB platform that's supposed be like X? Or is this a more generic concept like starting a thread in Reddit?
People can support your work but that doesn't mean they are buyers. Sometimes they turn into buyers, not always. Many times they support from a distance. So where are the buyers and how do we get more of them is the question that isn't talked about in this video. It's vaguely covered up when he says "he has a list of buyers who want to buy from him" - how, when did this even transpire into buyers is not addressed.
I am a 12 grade student in Indonesia, I recently started my RUclips Channel. I do agree with what Dan Koe is saying. The most important thing for me a starter is to learn to make video the best I can no matter how simple it might look like. I like writing and reading, so, I don't really want to waste my time on shorts which mainly give temporary-pleasure. Patience is precious in creating what we know the best we can.
I started 2 new RUclips channels 2 months ago and love creating content I am still a RUclips consumer. I listen to many different kinds of RUclips channels every single day. I think it's great that there is more people creating content. That means there is so much more variety and options. I get bored easily, so I love knowing there are a bunch of new youtubers creating content like me!
Awesome video. I am small RUclipsr, and I think that for small channels the most important thing is to get good presence from the beginning. If you are not popular, people won't care even if you have the best videos and the best content on platform. I am not beginner anymore, but I know how hard it can be (and honestly if I didn't use a lot of Fame - ster, I would have quit a long time ago. It made everything much easier for me, especially getting to 1000 subs and view hours).

But how do you monetise? I feel like, if everyone becomes a coaching personal brand we end up coaching coaches how to be coaches and it's an endless cycle. would love to hear your thoughts all
It's a scam. Dont fall for it. Just because this presenter fell for the scam doesn't mean you have to. The presenter fooled himself into becoming a product and now wants you to do the same by saying 'smart creators' . Don't fall for the tricks of this age. It's lame to do as the world does as this will always be the end result: SCAM, LIE, DECEPTION Yeshua, the Truth said many will come claiming His position as messiah thus He also says see to it that you may not be deceived. Trust in Yeshua and He will bestow you with your path, it may be soon it maybe short but there's nothing else like it so it is worth waiting for irregardless of the circumstances for only He knows what it is you truly want better than you, not just now but forever
It wont happen not enough believe in creator economy to start building on it. Most are to conditioned to traditional jobs and going way down the track some sort of universal income people would rather accept that and not work than try create and build their own online thing. Go take a look at what people have monetized even on you tube there is plenty
You're still a prisoner to the platform algorithm and depending on your passions you have you can easily get demonetized, canceled and banned. This advice is only useful if you are creating content around very generic, basic, non-threatening-the-establishment type content.
What I like about you dan, is how aimilar your story is to my own. I only started on X because of 2 hoir writer, but my god, its amazing. Writing will be the thing that works, I jist know it. I hate all the things you mentioned at the start of the video and i love writing. My thoughts are clearer and, most importantly, i walk more often lol
Thank you. That was very inspiring as always. I don't mind writing but I refuse to get into coding (even if they are both pretty similar in their execution). Not yet!
Hi Dan. Do you do absolutely everything alone or you have a team who helps you with social media or content distribution, managing some operations etc. I find myself struggling to write content, post and engage on social media and work on my digital product at the same time. I barely have any time to finish my product and start selling it. thanks!
Well yeah. You got my ears. I watched the entire thing in one go, and I NEVER (like never ever forever amen) spend time like that on social media. See - my ears are valuable and not casually given away. Your message resonates. TBH, I’d rather pretend it didn’t. If I could, I would make music + art every day for the rest of my life and not do anything else at all. So, in terms of life goals - your insights and tuition can’t ever be more than the second best option. (sorry!) But - after watching, I am now starting to look forward to devoting some time to all those pesky but necessary things that aren’t the ‘thing’ itself (music, in my case) but ABOUT the ‘thing’, for keeping it going. Cheers!
It’s really funny that your channel popped up those days on my screen. This week I tried to figure out why it’s so hard for me to write. In grammar school and later I loved to write. I wrote diaries, short stories… But to write content for my business is like a punishment for me. It’s crazy. Maybe there is a blockage because someone said something unreflective and since then I stopped loving writing. I continue listening to you…
Dan, this is the first video I've watched from you. It's good... but could be great, if you had ommitted the pitch in the middle, and maybe just do it at the end. Or better yet, only pitch in the description. Like Hormozi. I find it much more trustworthy to separate content from selling. I actually bought your OPB product because you transparently sold it on Twitter. Hope this helps 🙏🏼
Whaoh you are just confirming the light bulb moment i had when i just intuitively stopped during my powerwalk and did a short YT vid singing a cover then put it on line and then when i saw the views i had a moment of realisation that i can just do what i am doing in a more focused way fine tuning it as i go along yahoo! love you Dan you are fab cheers for your outstanding insight and info etc... thank you
Hey Dan, just bought your writer's bootcamp course thanks to this video. You talk about crafting your own antivision and vision (I actually remember your talking about it in one of your videos as well) and using them both as a lens through which I should write my content. I don't fully get how to apply/operationalize the advice. Could you please elaborate?
This is great content 👏👏 my problem with this is that I just want to market my small business and doing short-form content is already time-consuming and challenging, let alone doing medium- and long-form content. It's just impossible to do what you have to do AND have this second job of posting in every social media app with three different kinds of content every day/week. 😢😢 It's just too much...
Excellent! You have a new subscriber 😎 You just laid it out all so easy, of course I know I gotta put in the 'graft', but at least I have a great starting point on how to get where I want to be. I'm a big fan of the late Gary Halbert, and some of your 'insights' come across with the same kind of impact, like sparks igniting ideas... Anyway, signed up for kortex and I'm off to be creative 👍
Hi Dan, i’m so glad i discovered your channel. Thanks for all that you share. I really want to enrol in one of your courses but not sure whether to do the writers bootcamp or the life’s work program. Maybe some folk in the community could advise? I’m a filmmaker from Scotland and just quit my job as a lecturer in film practice and screen acting to pursue my film making (for love not money) and grow myself as a business ❤
Aside from the Bootcamp being a live cohort, how does it differ from the 2 Hour Writer course? If I have to choose between the two, what do I need to know?
Here to say, short form doesn't go deep but long form does, like you with this video. :) That's why I prefer YT for content creation and consumption, but 1. it's a long game so we need to be patent and improve as we go, whether on short form you can get lucky with visuals and go viral... 2. I feel it also attracts a different type of audience, don't you think? Short form = broad ; Long form = more niche, deeper. Also, love the simplicity of your video, just you talking hooking the audience without any fancy smanzy decorations and b-rolls lol Thanks for shifting my POV on clickbaity hooks. I never liked them, but what matters is to make out audience pay attention so we can serve them better.
What happens when the whole world wants to create content and no one wants to be the audience? Just a thought
We’re about so find out soon enough…
to be honest we are going that way.
Do you consume content as a creator? Obviously yes. This won’t change the dynamics. Everyone is still a consumer

I hope to engage more with the audience on X and here on RUclips.
It’s weird, I never thought to just write about what I do. I’m endlessly fascinated by Artists of all genres and watch and read heaps of content regarding the creative process.
Thanks for the perspective. ✌🏻
i owe so much to this guy, dan koe is locked in ladies and gents
kidding not kidding
but this channel is actually the one that gave me the courage to start my own channel.
Godspeed ♥️
But how do you monetise? I feel like, if everyone becomes a coaching personal brand we end up coaching coaches how to be coaches and it's an endless cycle. would love to hear your thoughts all
It's a scam. Dont fall for it. Just because this presenter fell for the scam doesn't mean you have to. The presenter fooled himself into becoming a product and now wants you to do the same by saying 'smart creators' . Don't fall for the tricks of this age. It's lame to do as the world does as this will always be the end result: SCAM, LIE, DECEPTION
Yeshua, the Truth said many will come claiming His position as messiah thus He also says see to it that you may not be deceived.
Vielen Dank Dan, du machst das schon richtig 🦾
What I like about you dan, is how aimilar your story is to my own. I only started on X because of 2 hoir writer, but my god, its amazing. Writing will be the thing that works, I jist know it. I hate all the things you mentioned at the start of the video and i love writing. My thoughts are clearer and, most importantly, i walk more often lol
I love how all the suffering I did when I was young and ahead of the curve benefited nobody except the ingrates who came after me.
(sorry!)
But - after watching, I am now starting to look forward to devoting some time to all those pesky but necessary things that aren’t the ‘thing’ itself (music, in my case) but ABOUT the ‘thing’, for keeping it going.
Cheers!
Quick question: will you ever update digital economics? You think it will stand the test of time?
You make everything seem so much simpler, thanks!
I continue listening to you…
You are speaking directly to me. Super impressive.
“One stock can be down while the index fund is up” 🙏
You amaze me! Thank you!❤
bros back to the OG pfp!!
Insightful, thanks! First time seeing your content. Subbed
Dan thank you so much. I find you tremendously helpful. I really appreciate you
Great video Dan. Tons of value
Listening to this at the gym 🫡
Listening to thiss while arriving at office
Thank you for quality content.
When you said “tribe” my brain immediately thought “Seth Godin”! 😂👏
I can't finish a movie on Netflix but i can finish a Dan Koe video
You just gave him his next video idea, great job ! Death of the Follower!
As a small creator this is so helpful. Thank you
this is very inspiring, i quit my job to start this. I hope it will work out.
Whaoh you are just confirming the light bulb moment i had when i just intuitively stopped during my powerwalk and did a short YT vid singing a cover then put it on line and then when i saw the views i had a moment of realisation that i can just do what i am doing in a more focused way fine tuning it as i go along yahoo! love you Dan you are fab cheers for your outstanding insight and info etc... thank you
What’s the main difference between the curriculum and the full experience???
Is it the network?
Hand holding?
Something else?
This is very relatable as a front-end developer
Hey Dan, just bought your writer's bootcamp course thanks to this video. You talk about crafting your own antivision and vision (I actually remember your talking about it in one of your videos as well) and using them both as a lens through which I should write my content.
I don't fully get how to apply/operationalize the advice. Could you please elaborate?
Your journey is similar to mine. And I’m just finally getting into social media…always hated it
This is great content 👏👏 my problem with this is that I just want to market my small business and doing short-form content is already time-consuming and challenging, let alone doing medium- and long-form content. It's just impossible to do what you have to do AND have this second job of posting in every social media app with three different kinds of content every day/week. 😢😢 It's just too much...
I love me some Leo Gura inspired content man. Good job and thank you.
Very Good!! Instant fan
Love your longer videos ❤
Yes, at minute 12:29 spot on!
Dan provides so much for free 🖤
needed this. thanks
@dankoe, thank you for being such a breath of fresh air! I'm so happy to be connected! ✨ 🙏
Thank you, Dan. So helpful
Very interesting, thank you.
Thank you Dan.
Love this! I'm also really wondering if you know your Human Design? As a Manifestor it's giving me lots of inspiration, thank you 🙏
Hi Dan, i’m so glad i discovered your channel.
Dan Koe for the win.
