This is so tangible and helpful I am in my first week of moving forward in my new chapter. I just closed my physical store , took a vacation and tomorrow is my first Monday ❤
My daughter and I have been following you. I am building my remote business as a grant writer/consultant/trainer. From July 2023 to August 2024, I have won, in grant funds, a bit over 1 million for a nonprofit rebuilding after covid. Thank you for all that you do. As a single woman, I have to depend on my skills.
This makes so much sense. I post on IG but feel that my content is so chaotic because I keep changing my ideas + perspective - but as you said it’s because I, myself as a human, keep changing and improving. The problem solving is where I get stuck. I keep trying to appeal to others instead of myself/my old self.

When dan said that this businesses never show that they are human. They never educate, entertain or inspire (things that people ACTUALLY follow and show up for on social media). THEY ONLY SELL. NOBODY FOLLOWS COMPANY ACCOUNTS, People follow EDUCATORS, ENTERTAINERS and INSPIRERS. I felt that... damnnnn..
I disagree. I receive an occassional magazine -which I never requested- from a large supplement co. While they promote new products and sales offers it's the user comments that are most informative. So yes apparently some people do follow a company's business, otherwise they wouldn't send out an entire magazine. They are successful and highly regarded. And they often have lower prices. The co. is Swanson.

@@wormwood8191 thanks for expressing your opinion but from the example you provided it still falls under the domain of "education" that is why you follow the magazine ☺️. The company understood this. That's why they did it
I believe investors should always consider putting their cash to work, especially in 2024, as we anticipate more market diversification. I'm planning to invest around $650,000 of my savings in stocks this year, with the goal of achieving significant returns and potentially reaching millions in 2025 or 2026.
Successful trading is all about knowledge, experience and discipline, and you can achieve these virtues from anywhere with access to the markets. You can go anywhere and do anything you want, and still bring home money. What's better than going on vacation AND making MONEY?
ADDILYN MADRIS AMBROSE understanding of market indicators is impressive. She knows exactly when to enter and exit trades for maximum profit. her siignals are top notch
The first step to successful investing is figuring out your goals and risk tolerance either on your own or with the help of a financial professional but is very advisable you make use of a professional .

Kudos man. You are da bomb. Ive been watching lots of content and I am SO FRIGGIN TIRED of marketing gurus with empty promises and cheap deliveries. Your content is a fresh breath of air in a world suffocated by mindless AI content. Following and watching yout every video. Will put this into action. Thank you SO MUCH and keep going
So so grateful I found this. It’s funny because I have always felt so pigeon holed trying to do certain things and this is so so helpful for me. THANK YOUUUUU such a lightbulb moment.
This video, among many others that Dan has posted, has given me quite a lot to think about. Everything feels like it is starting to click, but I also feel like I don't still have the needed clarity to really start seeing the impact of these ideas in my life. That might just be due to a lack of self-reflection, though. Anyway, I like how Dan is telling us how to get paid for becoming better versions of ourselves. If you think about it, you do need to be a better human to make a product that will better another human's life.
I’m 60 this year. I am my niche. Though, it's a journey at times just allowing yourself to free your voice and speak your truths. I’ve spent 60 years of having extreme visions ahead and then living through them in life while trying to survive into the next day, while mostly hiding and wanting to be a recluse in a world of insanity. I watch videos where people have click bait thumbnails, that do not actually deliver in the video. I see people tell these stories that are outrageous, that parts of me sense are not real, or are just crazy, or just trying to become famous and willing to say or do anything. And I sit in my chair in front of my computer and just wonder....... How do I really come forward and speak about such extremely epic experiences that I have had in life when I don't want to sensationalize it all. It doesn't need that since it's often too epic for many to even believe it's real. Do I even dare try to live more openly honestly in life? Life is weird. Thanks for doing your thing here! It’s appreciated.
Wow you just described exactly where I’m at. I have a very small YT channel that focuses on skincare and makeup for mature women but I feel like I have so much more to offer! I feel like I have a book in me but keep talking myself out of it (imposter syndrome). I’m trying to find a way that I can frame all the difficult things I’ve overcome in my 59 years of living (and it’s sooo much, it’s scary, sad, messy etc.) How do I present those life lessons to an audience without any credentials other than the fact that I’ve survived so much and it’s a miracle that I’m even here! Again, I just keep coming back to a book. Maybe that is the beginning and then I build my audience around that. Maybe they offer it to their daughters or granddaughters. Does that make sense! Any input is much appreciated!
Except their product doesn't actually deliver that outcome. It's a scam, which is essentially all marketing really is: a lie to get people to buy. Promise happiness, deliver chemicals and sugar for a temporary high that leads to an up and down cycle of dependency. Welcome to capitalism.
Your video " You are the niche" inspired me to start this RUclips channel. In the beginning , I tried different things here and there but finally settled on vlogs coz thats what i do easily with minimum effort and now figuring out how i can offer value through my lifestyle. Im enjoying this journey even though my growth has been very slow, I'm at 235 subscribers but Im glad I started and grateful for all my subs and supporters. Thank you so much for all the knowledge you share here freely🙏
This is what ive been saying & thinking for a very long time. Every one was saying find your nich but i never fit in anywhere. Im a sigma INFJ, so im quite rare. I can pretty much do everything & i love to do many things but i always wanted to do alot. Never to be put into a box. Being put into a box is completely opposite of what i am. I always wanted to just do my own thing & be myself.
Sometimes I listen to Dan and it overthrows my world-view, perspective, and identity. But after destruction comes creation. This is evolution. Thank you!
Dan you have literally created a movement. Obviously everyone who is serious about this has to put in the work. But the inspiration, clarity and quality you provide is something out of the world.
some of my favorite people I follow (designers mostly) post a variety of things that show the inspiration behind where they get their ideas and document things more like old Instagram. I love it. It's like following a live scrapbook and you get to see how artists bounce off of each other in a beautiful way.
Dude I'm not one to comment (great video by the way). But I have to say, I'm clearly addicted to your content. I wait every week, checking my phone, for when you drop another video. I guess I'm a super fan.
This is gold. Just what I needed to get over the hump of "there's already so much content out there, I'm just parroting them." The answer is to actually EMBRACE that, but from my own unique permutation of perspectives.
@DanKoe you must be my metaphysica businessl coach! Because everytime I have an idea about something business related you produce a video that literally addresses it! Please continue to allow Spirit to Flow through you! 🙏💜👏
I was led to your video after sitting here for days feeling so defeated and dumbfounded over "what niche to pick" to begin with in early stage for the software vision I have, when eventually I want it to be useful for massive audience because I see it will be. I was stuck because it wan't making sense within the limiting perspective I had, after directed to pick my small "first-user market segment". It takes guts to trust your gut and not follow the how to build a business expert advice in the box that can be a pinhole view. Customers are not always just labels, "market segments", positions...we have heart and needs and desires that can resonate across the board for the same product solution. Thank you for helping me arrive at the permission I needed to give myself to break the box and rethink niches. still deprogramming from the student-teacher, underling subordinate vs expert guru paradigm/ program.
couldn't agree more with your statement about building a business is basically building an audience, otherwise you'll be constantly chasing instead of leveraging Great video!!
This was my first time discovering this channel, and wow, what great and wonderful information for new content creators. You have made me think in ways I haven't thought of. Thank you!
Been following for a while. Absolute game changer this video. Felt icky about the old business model. This approach feels much more aligned to my identity & what I want to create. Thank you !
I’ve learned more about how to move forward in this one video alone! A weight has been lifted that our own authenticity IS the brand! I think Gary Vee has also pushed personal brand is the best! Thank you!! I get it now! New subscriber!
I think the hyper focus on "niching" comes from a closed myopic credentialist mindset similar to that of how we were all told in school to get a "real education" for one job for the rest of your life" that's the beuty of personal brand, your consciousness is the source of all the products you sell. Our consciousness as humans is so vast and diverse it would be a tragedy to only attach yourself to one avenue of creativity or 'work' for life. This is I believe the very cause of "mid life crisis". The soul can only take so much suppression for so long. You are not meant to hate what you do everyday that is insanity Being able to explore your curiosity, passions and interests and become competent enough to sell your ideas is a way more aligned way for us to live, than to be locked in a physcial, mental and spiritual box for the rest of your life ! Another great video !
@@emerson-sheaapril8555 of course a rough idea wouldn’t hurt ! Just don’t box yourself in too much I think it’s an un natural way for us to exist. Thank you for giving me the courage to start posting on social media again. I can definitely relate with becoming your own niche and person. I feel like this era of social media has become less creative and original. I felt like I put myself in a bubble for awhile because I was afraid to try new things out and ended up achieving a lot of my own content but learning to let that go. Great video :)
I love this. I’m in process of creating an embodied anger coaching container. A dynamic approach to teach others how to alchemize their righteous anger into fuel for their highest good. This is exactly what I need to hear. It’s very easy to follow the crowd. It’s changing to pull away and create a new path. 🔥
The idea that "you are the niche" is valid, but it comes with some conditions. To make this work while talking about broad topics and personal interests, you need to be really good at content creation. This includes mastering strong hooks, creating engaging and inspiring content, having high presentation standards, and keeping viewers interested. If someone is new to content creation and talks about what seem like random topics, they will likely struggle to build a following. So, "you are the niche" only really works once you've gotten good at content creation and know what you're doing.
That just means you have to create and fail as much as possible content creation in the beginning feels and looks kinda cringy ngl but it takes time like every other skill
@@thescottmedia I agree but it helps a lot to talk about one topic when you start to get some traction and people perceive you as an expert (or at least you know what you're talking about)
@@DigiNudgeI’m about to try an experiment where I actually create really crappy videos- by crappy I mean I don’t have the time to edit, I prefer candid content, so I’m trying to lean into it. I took your advice and became the niche on both my newer channels. I possess too many niches to have 10 channels at my young age!! I had to have at least 2 channels. I am starting to grow my second channel now. I love the process and I am passionate about the information and personal stories I share on my channels! Thank-you for your helpful tips!
Love this already. I have been listening to a lot of videos about freelance writing. They say niche down. And I did realize the niche I wants not popular, and it would be unique to me. So I clicked on this.
I built my blog, inspired by your blog. Simple, objective, with black background. I thought it was beautiful! I will release my first article this week. 🌹
I’m so grateful to discover you today, Dan! What magnificent content! I sense my business is really going to grow once I apply your teachings. Thank you.
Right now, there are people all over the world who are just like you. Or they are alone, they miss someone, they are depressed, hurt, marked by the past, they have people that nobody knows, they have secrets that you would not believe. They want, they dream and they hope. And now, you're sitting here reading these words, and I'm writing this for you so you won't feel alone anymore. Always remember, don't be depressed by the past, don't worry about the future and focus on today. If today is not so good, don't worry! Tomorrow is another opportunity. If you're reading this, please share it to share and make others feel better. Have a nice day!
Jam packed with exactly what I needed to know at this point, much gratitude. And can I say, what a breath of fresh air it was to hear Dan say about 'you are the niche' and blew the concept of niching down out the window and explains why that makes sense (to me). I always found it hard to 'niche down' and it also felt so limiting to only focus on one type of person I could help. Educating my past version whilst also keeping things interesting by sharing what interests or inspires me right now, means that building my brand won't be boring.
Thanks, Dan. This really helps to think of bigger goals of content-creating. It gives more meaning to why we create content in the first place. Going beyond just posting content week to week to fill the schedule. I hope it makes sense. Really enjoying your content.
Dan I would love for you to make a video from what you said at the 21:43 mark... about how this requires us to take on a lot of responsibility and emotional labour for ours lives. What can we expect from the good and bad...
Dan, I must say that I appreciate your thoughts on this topic and how you articulate the philosophy. This whole "niche down" idea has been the biggest head f*** and pain in the backside for me. (I imagine it has for others too) As someone who craves freedom - putting yourself into a box just feels restricting and boring. Humans want to evolve, grow, and become more. “Because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.” ― Wallace D. Wattles "Because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your content."
This was great stuff Dan! As someone who is building tools (software) to solve problems and share my message that the "normal" 9-5 "business matrix" can be escaped in so many ways these days - this was super helpful!
Thank you Dan for sharing this video, you have open my eyes about niche! I definitely fit in your description of niche! Thank you and be blessed in every aspect of your life!

This is so inspiring! I’m learning and creating my own game. Sharing my creations is fulfilling in itself but I would like more people to see it. 53. Ideas and 13 subs after 2 months. I’m in it for the long haul.
Yay, a video! I find these reminders super helpful as I continue along the path of building my niche-of-one brand as an outlier, synthesizer and out-of-the-box content creator here on RUclips. Thanks!!
@@redflagguy88 for me the word “synthesizer” means a generalist who also brings together various ideas into their brand. Dan Koe has occasionally used that term, too. My superpower is bringing together ideas (and people) so I tend to synthesize concepts and interests as part of my personal brand. Piano synthesizers are cool too, but I’m not a musician. Also in the case of musical or piano synthesizers, I think the etymology is more related to “synthetic”.

My unique niche is all about using AI tools for productivity, but with a minimalist approach that emphasizes working efficiently with what you have, like creating content exclusively on mobile devices. I’ve honed skills in mobile video editing, social media growth, and balancing tech use with mindfulness, which all stem from my personal experience of overcoming physical limitations and turning challenges into strengths. I believe that success can be achieved with minimal resources and that technology should simplify life rather than complicate it. My philosophy is to use technology creatively and mindfully, to stay efficient while maintaining personal well-being, showing others that they can do the same. My personal story is one of resilience and transformation. Despite facing significant challenges, including a disability that limits the use of one arm, I’ve built a successful career in content creation using just my mobile phone. My journey is about turning adversity into opportunity and inspiring others to find their unique paths. In my content, I focus on teaching others how to use AI tools effectively, edit videos on mobile devices, and grow their social media presence, all while promoting the importance of minimalism and mindfulness to lead a balanced and stress-free life. To help my audience apply these concepts, I’ve developed practical systems like the “4-Minute Media Method” ( 30:18 🙂 ) for quick content creation and the “Mobile-First Productivity System” to manage tasks efficiently using only a smartphone, all designed to encourage a more mindful approach to technology. I maintain an active presence by posting daily on RUclips and engaging with followers on social media, sharing tutorials and insights into AI, minimalism, and mindfulness. I also regularly promote my digital products and Ko-fi page to connect with and support my audience. My audience is made up of young professionals and aspiring content creators who are looking for simple, effective ways to enhance their productivity and achieve their goals. They seek to simplify their lives while staying balanced and avoiding the overwhelm that often comes with technology. Looking forward, my vision is to continue leading by example in promoting a minimalist approach to productivity. Over the next year, I plan to grow my RUclips channel, launch online courses, and publish resources that share my strategies, helping others to achieve success through innovation and balance.

So relatable!
The co. is Swanson.
@@wormwood8191 educators, entertainers and inspirers.
I think your example falls under education. Because through that material you learn something. That's why you follow em. You are being educated on something you are interested in
@@wormwood8191 thanks for expressing your opinion but from the example you provided it still falls under the domain of "education" that is why you follow the magazine ☺️.
Wow. I'm a bit perplexed seeing Addilyn Madris Ambrose name been mentioned here also. Didn't know she has been good to so many people.
The first step to successful investing is figuring out your goals and risk tolerance either on your own or with the help of a financial professional but is very advisable you make use of a professional .
Ms Addilyn Madris Ambrose was my hope during the 'bear summer' last year. I did so many mistakes but also learned so much from it, and of course from Addilyn Madris.
As someone with many gifts, and a passion for influencing I need to keep this information in mind. I would often get confused and discouraged

@@rodneymanwaring9396 Yes! Yes! Yes! Love this also... Already locked this into my brain BACNPI 🤓 Wishing You well.
I’m trying to find a way that I can frame all the difficult things I’ve overcome in my 59 years of living (and it’s sooo much, it’s scary, sad, messy etc.)
How do I present those life lessons to an audience without any credentials other than the fact that I’ve survived so much and it’s a miracle that I’m even here! Again, I just keep coming back to a book. Maybe that is the beginning and then I build my audience around that. Maybe they offer it to their daughters or granddaughters. Does that make sense!
Any input is much appreciated!
That Red Bull comment hit hard! They don't show their product. They show the LIFE outcome their product delivers. 👊🏾❤️🔥 #epic
But they also have a niche; energy drinks
Except their product doesn't actually deliver that outcome. It's a scam, which is essentially all marketing really is: a lie to get people to buy. Promise happiness, deliver chemicals and sugar for a temporary high that leads to an up and down cycle of dependency. Welcome to capitalism.

You are not meant to hate what you do everyday that is insanity
Being able to explore your curiosity, passions and interests and become competent enough to sell your ideas is a way more aligned way for us to live, than to be locked in a physcial, mental and spiritual box for the rest of your life ! Another great video !

Exactly 💯
That just means you have to create and fail as much as possible content creation in the beginning feels and looks kinda cringy ngl but it takes time like every other skill
@@thescottmedia I agree but it helps a lot to talk about one topic when you start to get some traction and people perceive you as an expert (or at least you know what you're talking about)

You create synthezisers? For music?
What is your niche?
@@redflagguy88 for me the word “synthesizer” means a generalist who also brings together various ideas into their brand. Dan Koe has occasionally used that term, too. My superpower is bringing together ideas (and people) so I tend to synthesize concepts and interests as part of my personal brand. Piano synthesizers are cool too, but I’m not a musician.
Btw this is extremely concise.
