- SPOILER ALERT!
The last chapter of the movie Shooter (2007). Epic epic epic...
"A marksman living in exile is coaxed back into action after learning of a plot to kill the president. Ultimately double-crossed and framed for the attempt, he goes on the run to track the real killer and find out who exactly set him up, and why."

This is truly one of the most satisfying endings to a movie ever.
Plus he got to ride Kate
Honestly I think the departed was equally if not more satisfying
Cleaned up the "loose ends"
Trueeee 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
No, too easy for them , shot their hands , legs, one by one slowly
That guy played the rich, corrupt politician so well. He made everyone hate him.
CHAiRBORNE I’ll always look at him as Lex Luthor’s bumbling side kick who could SQUEEL LIKE A PIG!!!
He could make a good Lex honestly
Guess you never saw Deliverance. Every time I see Ned Beatty all I can think of is how he's gonna squeal like a pig. Actually he's been in a lot of movies.
Andrew Rogers that would be interesting. He’s pretty old now, but he is very talented and could probably pull it off if his health is still good. I’d love it thinking he went from being the dufus from the original Superman and then going to tackle Gene Hackmans role. I don’t think he would do it out of respect for the original movies and Gene. But I do wonder how it would’ve been if Hackman and Beaty had switched roles. I bet the movies would’ve still been legendary
@@roberttompkins9991 Agreed
The saddest thing about this scene is that Danny died fairly quickly and easily, compared to the amount of evil he has done around the world and the gruesome ways the victims of his mercenaries/warlords often having been tortured before they died.
Sometimes it is not about getting somebody to suffer, but just to get rid of him - quick and over.
I actually like it, doing what he came to do and not basking in his revenge.
With an attitude of a typical sniper, focused and not wasting time.
The good, the bad and the ugly comes to mind: “if you want to shoot, shoot, don’t talk!”
Otherwise look at the evil criminals in James Bond, because they do not just kill 007, they end up botching their entire operation and end up killing themselves in the process.
Quick, yes. Easy...pretty sure he choked on his own blood until he expired so not quite.
There's no innocent people in HELL.
Swaggert shot him in the nape of the neck. Swag most likely paralyzed the pos from the chest down and the trauma caused by the shot caused the guy to be paralyzed by fear, pain and the trauma while he choked to death on his own blood. Could you imagine a more fitting end to such an evil person?
Sometimes it's not about "perfect" justice or punishment. It's about removing a threat to society & sending a message.
I never get over this scene and the final line.
“I am a United States Senator!”
Swagger, ”Exactly” 🔫
Swagger , " EXACTLY" and BANG !! 😅
The man lived up to his name. Frankly, I have a list for him, very bipartisan, he could help with ;)
Wahlberg’s response “exactly” is perfect and quite nuanced. On one hand, he is a Senator and can’t be expected to face real justice, he’s just too powerful and connected. On the other hand, as a Senator he should have taken his oath more seriously and never abused his power.
Love this scene.
Power corrupts.
Thank you for explaining it to us.
@@owensweetland342 absolute power corrupts absolutely is a saying i have heard often.
We need Bob Lee Swagger in Kentucky.
Well, starting in Kentucky...
Money is only paper. Influence is nothing but words in the wind. In the end, all any human is amounts to no more than a few hundred pounds of water and proteins, powered by an electric charge no greater than a D-cell battery. Mighty or miniscule, the powerful and the impoverished, all bleed the same. Strip away all the trappings of "civilized" society, and they are all just intelligent animals, waiting for the Hunter to strike.

Diplomatic immunity - it has just been rewoked!
Swagger: They killed my dog.
Wick: Same.
Oh.
I know some people think Glover getting shot before Walbergs character even entered the house was kind of a letdown.
But I always thought it was perfect. Glovers character was always so arrogant about being important and in control and to have his death be just so dismissive.
Like he was just not important enough to look in the eye and kill.
I always felt like that was more than just to show what a hardened bad ass the protaganist was. It was a characters final statement to his enemy. "Your just a guy who needs a bullet, that's all."
I loved that this movie had little bits of subtext between the action scenes that the director leaves open to the audience to draw their own conclusions.
Stuff like the "still got the shovel" line :)
Thing is he knew who it was that was gonna kill him. He knew he wasn't gonna get out of there alive and he felt the fear. Also it wasn't an instant kill, the bullet went through his throat so the last sensation he would have experienced was being unable to speak or breathe, all the while tasting his own blood in large amounts...
Seems like Glover got shot bc he was the first one that tried to escape. And it also appeared that Glover was running towards “The Shooter” direction and presented himself as an easy target. If the intent was to show that Glovers death was unimportant, he could have been killled off screen like the poor guy who fell through the ceiling.
He died with a shattered trachea, he struggled to breathe, his death was very painful for a few seconds.
Nah.
Glover's character was always no more than a tool to their operation, just like the Russian guy they used as bait for Swaggart.
Much as they used Swaggart too - the only difference is that Glover's character is a willing and nigh on gleeful participant.
How relevant this scene is in today’s political climate.

@@samueltullis806
I am not a specialist in the subject 😉 But for me no ...
since it is not the system that is corrupt but some people ...
Therefore you will replace one problem with another problem ...
The problem is human, it is the human factor X in the equation ...
How much even you find someone good, he will not be able to satisfy everyone and it is not only that the system is badly made, it is just a reality.
What is more, we do not solve a problem with another problem because of this ...
we do not kill anyone because he is corrupt ... it is in a way acting like a terrorist or a bad dictator (of consciousness)
This is my humble opinion. I found the question interesting but I had to restart my phone when it arrived ... 🤔... The Chance or Karma?!?
Thing i love about this movie is here. The final scene. the final boss so to speak. In most if not almost all movies its always a dragged out scene. atleast 5-10 minutes before the hero finally gets the upperhand. Here the hero just swaggers in and dominates for 5 minutes. Love it. One of my favorite movies of all time.

Ned Beatty, whether you were a good guy or a bad guy, you gave so many of us so many great memories with your performances. RIP sir.
I wasnt aware he died. Kinda wish i hadnt seen your comment. I like to think he was more like Rudys dad in real life.
@@thomasdaniels6824 Everyone mentions the rape scene in "Deliverance". But his performance in the REST of that movie was spot on perfect.
@@thomasdaniels6824 Hell yeah that scene where Rudy brings him the acceptance letter to Notre Dame and he loses his shit screaming into the PA system to his other sons, “Your brother is going to Notre Dame!!” I also like how he carefully puts the letter back in the envelope for safe-keeping. It’s a great turning point for their father-son relationship. When Rudy says that walking on to the football team is next, his father doesn’t tell him it’s impossible or to grow up. I think his father still views it as a pipe dream but he’s no longer 100% certain considering now that he’s come this far.
He was great as Wally the waver in highway to heaven
I used to work at the LAX gift shops and was lucky to meet Mr. Beatty. It was one of my more memorable celebrity encounters. The movie 'All God's Children' with Ned, Ossie Davis & Ruby Dee had recently aired. And I told him I watched it and asked about the unresolved cliffhanger at the end. The gift shop started to get busy, so he signed an autograph and left. I thought he left the answer on the paper. His autograph read: Dear Dee, the kid that died in 'All God's Children' was...over (instructing me to turn the paper over) and when I did it was blank!!! I never laughed so hard.
Here's a little context: the plot of the movie was about bussing and an interracial friendship. Two boys are injured when a protest about bussing students to a different school goes awry and the bus crashes and catches fire. Both are burned badly; one kid dies and the other is unconcious and neither can be identified. When the doctor comes to finally inform the parents which lived and which died, the screen fades to black and all you hear is screams...but viewers don't know which mom is screaming. That was the end of the movie.
Ned did tell me that both actresses were recorded screaming and their screams mixed together, making the screams difficult to identify. The ending was supposed to be ambiguous.
And that is why my encounter with Mr. Beatty stays with me. He was generous with his time, shared some movie info and made me laugh. I'll always remember him fondly.
One of the greatest ending to a movie. A CORRUPT US SENATOR GOT JUST WHAT HE DESERVES.

I keep going back to that. I did not catch it the first time around that he was saying don't do it, while absolutely telling him to fucking go right ahead and do it.
100% correct.
The AG knew he could not prosecute the senator and his henchmen. But found a way to mete out justice.
Ned Beatty sounds like a typical politician "I am a united States senator!!!" Yeah, like that will change the mind of a guy you tried to frame for murder...
I took this part and put glitches in the scene and applied the “we shall rise again” far cry 5 song with it. Chilling
And how about that ending with the anti-hero walking away in slow motion and a huge explosion. Original..lol
It works. Like how a bunch of rioters with a score to settle tear up Portland and people say, "How dare you, that was a police station you burned down."
Or how a bunch of other rioters with a score to settle tear up Capital Hill, and everyone is more outraged. "How dare you, that is a political institution you just wreaked."

take political science and you will understand why it would be a bad idea and nothing will ever get done . Its the truth sadly
they will have to voluntarily like every respectful civilisation or be compel to by its people to do so
Or you could just explain it. You don't have to take a university course, which by the way many universities are extremely leftist, to understand the government. In fact you should learn it on your own based off facts not based off what a professor tells you is truth.
Will Friar;
If you had something of value, something real to say, you'd be able to say it without all the childish name calling and derogation. That feeling of generalized rage you nurture, is a result of having abandoned reasoned debate, facts and serious consideration a long time ago.
Uranium One is a total red herring. You've bought into that because you want, you NEED to support your hatred and suspicion. If there was, in fact, a problem with the Uranium One deal, people would be focusing on the approval process; the criteria for approval of the deal and how this deal was approved where others like it were not. But, they aren't doing that, because the CAN'T do that. This deal was run through the same 9-member panel as every other corporate sale subject to approval by the COFIUS approval process. Nobody is claiming it wasn't. THAT is what matters. Guistra could have given Hillary nothing or he could have given her a trainload of gold bullion and it would not mean there was anything wrong with the Uranium One approval.
