Those ghost plants don’t only stretch because of the light, they are a naturally trailing plant. They naturally grow along the ground to spread. There are other types that stay in a rosette form and more compact, but this type will always want to trail and spill over containers. FYI!
Cool! Good to know. Does panda plant do this?
I was going to say this!! That is a feature that I actually like about them and they look amazing on shelves, that is why I chose them. Depriving them of light a little bit can give them such a gorgeous colour too, a little more cool toned purple-ish. Plenty of sun makes them blush! 🥰
Thanks good info.
@@samanthacoleman4789 Panda plant generally seems to stay upright in its pot. But echeveria like this ghost plant likes to trail a bit over the edges.
@@germanshepherddogs echeveria like to trail? As far as I've ever heard, echeveria are known for their compact rosette shape. May I ask which species you're referring to? Maybe it'll refresh my memory. 🤔🙂
Dang you just got baby succulents sprouting everywhere and almost without effort! You have such a green thumb sir! Thanks for the video!!!
Hi. Very helpful. I like that you do close ups of the plants instead of your face and body like some other videos which makes it hard to see the plants! Also your voice is very pleasant to listen to. Thank you!
I just started adding succulents to my fairly new plant addiction, and I had no idea that this ghost succulent could propagate like this! Great video, thank you for the succulent lesson!
This is funny, I clicked on the video then heard your voice and realized it's my favorite pepper guy.
So so happy I found a succulent lover that lives in the same state! It’s easier to gauge what I can and can’t do myself!! 💖
Edit: your pots are so cute!!
You've got me so excited to regrow my plants!
Thank you for this video Starr!
I just today ran across your video and I have learned more in this one video of yours than I ever have from anyone, any book or any other videos I've watched! Thank you gratefully!! I am now subscribed for sure. 👏💜
Your video answered all the questions I had about propagating succulents and it was very helpful. Thank you!
wow i’ve been looking so long for a ghost plant propagation video - thank you for uploading !
The first one you planted with the top of the leaves; I did the same and didn’t see results until 6 months later! So don’t give up people! I sprayed with water lightly every now and then and watered about 2 a month. As long as it’s not dried out keep caring for it! Now the second method with just the “stem” of the plant I just tried last night thanks to this video! I’ll try to update as well
6 mths??? Thats too long! You need sun!!
trucker wrecker it have sun
Thx for the info I started some from leaves about 2 months ago & they just now started to sprout a baby. I've had them inside near the window, I just placed them on my porch to see if it helps any.
this is the most helpful succulent propagation video that i've watched!! thank you for this!!
I've really enjoyed your videos. I'm so glad I stumbled upon one of your videos a few weeks back. Now I'm hooked.
I agree. A very simple and to the point video on propagation. Kudos to you. Now I know. 👍👍👍👍👍
Wow exactly what i was looking for after a long long search on the internet FINALLYYY
Thanks man!
Your voice is so relaxing and kind! Thanks for all the great info! You def have a way with succulents!
You have an easy way & are very thorough, thank you. I'm planting my 1st cuttings from a friend's plant today. Glad I checked your site 1st.
Terrific! Thanks for all the pointers!
Wow I had no idea new succulents can grow from the stems!! So so cool!!!! :D thanks for the video
You did a wonderful job with your propagating succulents. Your planter pot is very nice.
Great Informant video. One of the best for me. Also I enjoy listening to your soft voice. Thank You......
Very new at this and so far most helpful video. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this video!! It was so helpful for me. My ghost plant got so big with so many branches over the year that it toppled over yesterday and I was DEVASTATED thinking that there was nothing I could do. I’m so happy to know that I can now plant so many more 😍
Nice video; I learned so much. Thank you for posting.
This video was very informative compared to other propagating videos that I've seen.
This is great. Thank you for explaining every detail of the succulents. I live in Texas too and I didn’t know how I’m going to keep these beautiful plants alive. Step by step that’s what I liked. Thanks again.
The local plant shop gave me a ghost plant that is extremely leggy today. I told them that I would save it. Thanks to your video, now I know how! Thank you so much!
Thanks for all the hints on propagation.
Wow! Thank you so much for your inspiring and captivating video. I recently started gardening and your video is very helpful to novices like me. Keep up the good work!!!!!
That blue pot is gorgeous! :) Nice video!
I am switching from pepper to succulent, so glad to find videos of you on succulent 😊
Hi Leah!!!!!!!!
Your ghost plant cuttings look great in the bluish pot with rust on the rim. Thanks for showing us so many different scenarios.
Luv your Ghost plants! You make it look so easy!

This was super helpful! I'm on a mission to be good at propagating! I've failed miserably a few times but I am determined to get me some roots!

Meeee tooooo!
Very informative, Can't wait to start propagating my succulents now :)
Thanks, Khang! I'm trying to propagate an Aeonium. I have a stem cutting and letting it scab over first.
Thank you, this was very helpful for me. I qlready took many leaves off. Getting ready to cut a stem.
Great tips!! Thank you so much 🥰🌿✨🦋
This is absolutely amazing!

Very informative video. Im a beginner in growing succulents and this video gave me more information o how to propagate succulents. Thank you so much for sharing.
Great video, packed full of useful tips, thanks for sharing friend 👍👍
Fabulous.Very informative.Thank you
How within only six weeks it's got so many leaves and almost full grown! It's been 4weeks here and i don see anything!! I feel like crying 😭😭
Ismat Jahan, 1. Keep plants in indirect sunlight (next to a window which gets lots of sun) 2. Put them on dry soil 3. DO NOT MIST until you have roots. Hope this helps 😊
Sameee 😭😭
If u live n a dry place then mist them but if its kinda wet then don't.
@@lucyvlogs751 ive been spraying mine since the day i put them on the soil, only 2 have had rot but one was cos it was really bruised and other leaves just dont do anything and just die, but all the others have made roots and leaves, i spray thoroughly daily
@@Moon-cd4bv I also spray daily. It really just depends on how much you spray them the day b4 or what not!
Thank you so much! You've made my day. I thought my plant was dead.
Cutting/ propagating plants is soooooo satisfying
This was VERY helpful!!! Thanks!
Thankyou! Learnt about stem propogation!
Awesome video!thnks for sharing,very informative!
Pretty cool man! I love ur relaxed approach too. Nice! New subber. Ty.
Very useful video...thanks
Yes you did! Beautiful!!
Wow..nice succulent 👍👍👌🏾👌🏾🍀☘🌱
I came in to watch because that blue flower pot is identical to the one I have for my Venus flytrap. 😁
I have a rat tail cactus in the blue pot. Lol
Venus flytrap!? wow!
Seriously I also came to watch just because I love the look of the blue flower pot lol 😂
Thank you for your help 😊
Such a cool video, thank you 😍
Great video
Excellent video! Thanks so much for showing what to do with the stem. All the other videos do not show anything. They talk way too much. Your cuttings, everything is beautiful. I can’t wait to start. I just got a gift of succulents and she let it grow, etiolate. Lol. I don’t think she knew what to do with them. But they are beautiful. Thank you again for this video. 👍🏼New subscriber here.🥰
Amazing how your plants grow. I can't seem to get mine going.
Your pots are so cool
Beautiful echeveria, nice information, stay connected friend
Wow, I think I can do this now. Thanks
Thank you! 😊
So once your little leaves get the new growth like the ones you showed on the ground then what would I do with them I see more leaves that will keep growing out the end but how do you pot those leaves that are staring a new plant?
Great video ♥️♥️♥️
Good helpful information
I really love how thorough you are about the propagation info. There are many good videos on succulents, but they often leave out something like callusing, or watering, etc. Your succulent videos are my favorites!
Have you ever sold them? You have so many. I’m interested in having some shipped to me
Awesome video! I've lost all the leaves on an overwatered succulent (I gave it too much love in the form of water 😭), and have been looking for ways to save it! The roots are a bit rotted but the stem is fine, so I will try this stem propagation method to save it. Thank you for also showing the progress, it is very helpful!
You just answered my problem😊
I have 12+ ghost plants and even more graptosedum ghosty now, thanks for inspiring my succulent addiction
Hello thank you for having the plants in close ups. It made it easy to recognize. Thats the ghost plant right? Lastly, thank you for having a pleasant voice. Keep on !
I am very love succulents
So cute plant s special
Very informative video. London temperature in day is 10 and night 4 deg
Can I leave the propagated succulents outdoor or do I have to keep it inside
Thank you
Removing leaves is satisfying
I have that teal pot too! Currently has a Thanksgiving Cactus 😁.
Wow love that variegated jade! I’m in texas too! Good to know about the hardiness of those others, are they echeveria?
I thought they looked more like a Houseleek in the Crassulaceae family ?
That’s amazing
I'm trying to propagate a red pagoda. There's a portion of it at the bottom that is almost directly on the soil. I was planning on cutting that and repotting it.
If I heard you correctly I should let it dry for a minimal of 30 minutes first, correct?
Hi the plant which it was originally cut from, will that piece continue to grow?
In the philippines we air dry cuttings for 5-7 days, sometimes weeks because of the humidity
Nice video
Lovely
Those succulents(graptopelatum parangueyensis) are the fastest propagating succulents I’ve ever had. I propped a leaf in April and it’s already branching
I have one succulent that I've been nurturing for over two years. I am emotionally attached to this little plant. I've named him Cadbury. Lol I need to do this for him, but I am TERRIFIED of hurting him and possibly killing him. I would be devastated if I lost him. I know it's a plant but he's the first plant I've ever gotten to live and he's been with me through a lot. The emotional attachment is real.
Did you ever cut him? I'm curious lol🤔
I wish I could show you mine so you can tell me if I should do exactly what your doing. I got mine at a yard sale not long ago and it's massively stretched. Along with another stretched one
Mind blowing...one thing let me clear for Echiveria pulvinita stem cutting propagation I have to remove all leaves from the stem and don't need water if the soil mixture is moist .....but should the cutting grow pot should be kept in full sun whole day always ?
Please let me know I m from india and now here extreme dry weather with 35'centrigate temperature high in day time and at night around 18-19'Centrigate temperature.
Thank you.👍
ooh..I'd love to have them!
Nice video...are the new growth from leaves exposed to direct sunlight?
I had a leaf that got lost and hidden underneath our bench on our balcony with no sunlight or water! I found it today and it had cute little buds growing on it and roots!!!
Awesome!
Thanks :)
Thanks. Can I do this with jade stems I’d remove the original roots 1st ?
I'm over the moon just watching how beautiful you propagate your succulents from leaves
Awesome!!!!
do you water right after you plant the stems? Also, I have the root grow powder. With that, do you water right away?
I want to know this as well. I’m wondering if you water them right after you plant the stems in the soil!
Do you recommend only using straight pieces of stem? Also are these ok in cold weather??
I live I’m Texas also can you suggest am app or hood book to identify individual species? Thank you.
Do you leave the leaves on their sides in the soil and let them root and grow, or what?
Thanks so much. I’ve been wanting to know how to do this for a while now! Oh my gosh this is so helpful.
Just put the leaves on top of soil facing up. It really doesn't matter if they face down, but they will grow better facing up.
