- Succulent beheading or headchop is cutting the top part of the succulent off its stem. But why would you cut a mature succulent and ruin its form.
Well, there are a lot of good reasons to do beheading to your succulents and in this video, we will share that with you. It can also require a bit of courage to do so in the beginning but watch the video and you can do it together with us.

I am obsessed with propagating through beheading and watching the babies grow on the stem and as well having a new single play that looks good lol
I know! It is always a pleasant surprise when you go back to check on the stem and tiny plants are already there showing... =) haha, simple joys of life..

yes, they gave babies..☺️
I managed to behead mine using a sewing thread! I doubled the thread and had to ask my father to pull it though. Just sharing for anyone with no floss on hand
Oh, that is so resourceful of you! Thanks for sharing. =)
My succulents always have their stem dried and like burned , the top is Healthy sometime it’s hang outside the pot but the part in the soil is dead and this top ha Ve aeria roots what to do?
If the stem is dead or rotted, that means your plant is noyt getting any water from the roots, and that is why you see the aerial roots. It is trying to get moisture from the air because it does not have water supply from the roots. So just cut off the healthy top part and plant it. When you cut off, just check on the quality of the stem, you have to remove any black spots from rotting, then allow it to air dry for a couple of days before planting it to dry soil and do not water for about a few weeks until when they have growm their roots. All the best!
