    Can we just talk about how adorable this interaction is between these two partners? And thank you so much for this easy to understand explanation and demonstration. I will be trying this, as I frequently find flower pots I’d love to use that do not have drainage holes! In fact, the more I like the pot, the less likely it will have drainage holes, it seems 😂

    Salamat Po! I wondered if a bear tomotosa that has dropped all it's leaves and left only with stems ...no burns on them will grow new leaves ? In my case the leaves shrunk and were chubby, but just dropped it's leaves (the plant was exposed to a High temperature morning sun) Thank you for the update and really appreciate all your efforts and time.

    • @SucculentSocial
      @SucculentSocial 2 месяца назад

      Hi there. Based on my experience with dropping leaves, they drop because there is a problem in the root system. Even if they are exposed to extreme heat like some of our summer days here, the leaves can get sun burnt, or really dry and crunchy but they do not drop the leaves. If you get a chance, try to check if all is okay with roots ( any rot?). If all good, then you just have to wait for new leaves to grow but lots of patience will be required as they are slow growers. Thanks.

    Really interesting to watch this. My PVN was the same size as yours 2 years ago and I let her go to flower for the first year, then also tried to propagate the leaves from the flower stalks in the 2nd flowering but had no success with that last year. This year, now autumn in Perth, she was looking a bit straggly so I decided to do a head chop and now I have 5 pups on the original PVN stalk plus the larger leaves that were removed are also now just starting to show tiny pink bumps where the babies are growing! Exciting! I wish I tried the head chop sooner. I honestly didn’t think PVN was so prolific due to her struggling to grow big over the last 2 years. I’m so happy to see many pups this year. 😊💜💜💜

    • @SucculentSocial
      @SucculentSocial 2 месяца назад

      Hi Susan, firstly, so sorry that I got to reply only now, we got busy with Mother's Day orders. I am so like you, when the plant is too perfect, I tend to not propagate them or head chop. But letting them grow too big is also not ideal as the weight puts pressure on the stem. The one that I have in this video has to be head chop soon too as it is not looking its best. =( You are very lucky with the pink bumps, that is really awesome.

    can we water without roots ? will it rot even after callous ? thanks for the video

    • @SucculentSocial
      @SucculentSocial 4 месяца назад

      Hi there. I usually wait for baby roots to come out before I introduce water simply because of the principle of it is the roots' job to absorb water. If there are no roots, then water just stays there and keep the stems wet. Having them to have callus, minimises the risk of rot, but still no guarantee, depending on soil quality and moisture present in the soil. Hope this helps.

I have experience though that some types can grow roots slower than others. Sometimes, it could be months before roots come out.
