What an awesome video, THANK YOU a million times over! Saved me the trouble of hiring cleaners!
These are awesome tips! Thank you for sharing ☺️
I will be buying some of the things that you said to use tomorrow!! Thank You!!!! I have HARD WATER deposits SOOOO bad. I get so tired of trying to clean the shower. Thank you for passing your wisdom on to help other people.
So glad to help!! 💚
Thank you so much for this. This is my exact master bathroom…lol
Thank you Kris
Would CLR work to clean mineral deposits off of tile grout?
New subscriber! Thank you!
So the key is to maintain shower glass doors before the area gets as bad as mine is. I also tried using paper towels and realized magic erasures are the tool of choice. Also allowing the CLR soak for an hour instead of a few minutes. You make it look like less of a chore and just routine maintenance. Very impressive video. thanx
I just found this video!!! Thank you!.... Does this work well with Brass? I cannot talk my husband into softwater.
Wow thanks so much!!
Thanks for sharing,I really need it
Great Job!!!!
I watched whole video and couldn't understand what did you use on metal door? And what is CLR?
This was awesome. I want to keep my apartment super clean. I scrub and scrub and nothing works. Definitely going for this method
☺️❤️
My shower doors look like this (maybe even worse). Gotta get some CLR !! Great video - thanks.
What is the difference between Lime a Way and CLR. Does one work better than the other
Nice job.
Can I use muriatic acid?
How to repair / fill parts of the chrome that have corroded?
I totally enjoyed watching this video!
I have 2 shower doors that have A LOT of dried on calcium on it an it's been sitting in my garage for the past few years! I have taken a razor blade to it, Barkeeper's Friend, a magic eraser, Xxx steel wool to and nothing seems to put much of a dent in removing the calcium deposit! I'm at my wits end so I'm hoping that you might recommend something that will do the trick and I can clean these glass doors once and for all! One other thing, my shower doors aren't identical to yours as far as the pattern goes mine are just clear glass there's no pattern on the glass!
Thank you in it in advance!
PS. I almost forgot, I have a scrubber about the size of a Brillo pad, but it's made from Walnut shells!
Lime away and a dry eraser worked like a charm for me!! It should do the trick for your glass doors too!! Good luck ☺️
Can I just say ❤❤. I have heard of those products and never thought they worked but YOU are proof
Could you plz share your mop details.. where I can get it?
What is CLR
Wrap each end of your pliers with masking tape so you don’t damage the chrome!
I just bought a house and the seller did not clean at all. The shower makes me cringe there is so much build up in the corns of the shower door and there is also a yucky smell as soon as you open the shower door. I am going to try tips and hope it helps.
Very helpful, thank you! Quick question: how does the chemical you use affect the coating in a oil rubbed shower door? I don't want it clear and have the coating start to fade. Thank you!
I didn’t seem to have a problem but if you are concerned I’d def test a small spot first to make sure.
This is in a house I manage for the home owner:
The calcium build up was so bad & was spread evenly across so much shower tile & the fiberglass tub (1970s blue tub & tile 🙄)
- til I just used a buffing wheel on my cordless drill with fine steel wool on all the ceramic walls.
Then I used the buffing wheel with rubbing compound for the fiberglass tub. Do not use steel wool on fiberglass. It's fine for ceramic.
It took a day to do an entire bathtub and the 4 inch use ceramic surround. The dull was less but existed just outside the edges of the shower curtain too.
After everything was nice a shiney again, I keep it that way with Turtlewax spray-on wax.
This completely prevents calcium build up!
Each time, after the owners visit & spend a week or weekend, I wipe down the shower with the wax & a damp rag. And it's ready for their next visit.
If you use a shower daily, I would say spray it down with the wax about every two weeks. If it seems like calcium or dullness is building up, adjust & use the wax say every week.
BTW - it does not make the tub any sliippy-er than a soapy shower floor already is. It just makes the water bead up/repels calcium deposits.
This is not a SHINEY wax. I spray it on and wipe with a rag I keep only for that purpose.
I also use the spray wax on the oil-rub/bronze coloured faucets bc the white dullness really shows up on those. The wax repels the water, this helps stop hard water drying on any waxed surfaces.
(PS - rubbing compound - I forget which brand I used but like automotive rubbing/polishing compound. Can get it at any parts place like O'Reilly.
If automotive painters have a drip/run, the, take a razor blade & slice the drip off after it's dry. They can then take rubbing compound and buff the flat spot & make it shine again and you would never know it wasn't a perfect paint paint finish bc it looks so good. This lady's baking soda mix is essentially rubbing compound. If you have a huge area to do, I suggest a buffing wheel on a drill. Saves on elbow grease)
How do you get rid of any yellow that’s on the seal between the glass and the metal on the bottom of the door? I’ve been struggling with that in my shower and I feel like that whole area smells so bad no matter how much I clean it!
@amrio8393. After doing what she prescribed, what about scrubbing with baking soda for the odor?
Doesn't clr eat aluminium doors
Are you diluting the CLR 50/50 with water or straight up CLR?
I put it straight on
@@krisnsons5967 Thanks! Will try this later on tonight.
I'm confused on the Lysol part? Spray Lysol? And when and why? Thanks!
The Lysol was to disinfect the floor. I used it before i did any grout work.
On heavier lime scale deposits, Try some EASY OFF OVEN CLEANER. Spray in on, Let it sit for a few minutes and scrape the lime scale off with a plastic blade.
awesome video
Thank you☺️
Thank you 😊
Use clear contact paper to cover your shower glass doors.
Wow!
What would the equivalent in the UK?
I also want to know
Good thanks, I don't get why some tenant don't clean you can tell
Powdered Citric Acid works well too and is a lot cheaper. Two Teaspoons to One Quart of Warm Water. I’ve gotten it to cling by wetting a Paper Towel and sticking it to what you want cleaned. Just check on an inconspicuous area first, since I don’t know the finish or plating on all objects. P.S. Citric Acid is safe for all Solid Stainless Fixtures.
Is this also the same citric acid used to make bath bombs?
For grout use baking soda and peroxide with a tooth brush.
Buying a home and the lady let it go like in the video so for sure will need to do this.
What is CLR????
Calcium, Lime, Rust Remover
Great tips but what is Lysol?
Just to clean and disinfect but it wouldn’t make a difference if you didn’t have it on hand.
Thanks for NOT recommending VINEGAR! It may be just me but I can't stand the smell of it and when I have tried cleaning with it before I want to gag and it takes forever for that vinegar smell to dissipate :)
What is clr?
calcium, lime, rust remover
take a electric toothbrush, reduces the elbow grease
Calcium remover at the dollar store works just as well.
Good to know! Thank you
Citric acid is brilliant and more environmentally friendly, that limescale buildup must have been very light when you did it in such a short time 😅
CLR is completely non-toxic and environmentally friendly! It gets an A rating from the Environmental Working Group. 👍
you can't use it if you have Limestone tiles, or any other natural stone tiles !
Better than vinegar?
I think so and It’s a much quicker process. Vinegar is great if you want to go the natural route.

You didn't say what was in the ziplock bag you dipped the toothbrush 🪥 in when you were cleaning you grime inside the shower. Plus I find a SOS pad works really good .I too clean after tenants move out I have 50 houses 🤯 so I feel your pain.
It's CLR I took the head of my faucet off and submerged for an hour had build up from previous homeowners didn't ever clean it and now it looks brand new.
