As an Australian, and even from the same state as Scott, I am so proud to see this paint being featured. Its very impressive stuff, I have a fair bit of it now and have always been impressed. Chameleon over blue is niiiiiiice.
i once had simmilar spraypaint to the chamelion paint, on the can it stated something like for the best effect lay on multiple coats. I think that multi coating would help in this case too since the surface would have a better coverage of these reflective pigments.
I've been using them as my main model paints for a while now. And I'll say I love them. They spray well very easy clean up and great finish. Highly recommended
To be honest, ive seen many other tests of these paints where the result was FAR nicer, did you put on multiple coats? Really even though I prefer to support our own Australian products, if I had seen this review of their paints I would never have bought them, the chameleon for example looks really nice on a black background on a model car bonnet or on larger surfaces, the colour shift should still be obvious on the white primer but much more of a muted effect.
ZakuAurelius these paint videos of yours are awesome i just started painting gunpla last 2017 and my painted barbatos looks like trash but thanks to these videos i think i can try to do better
Sadly our shitty liberal government buggered our local car industry and we can't buy Holden or Ford anymore either :( I miss those cars already though I will be able to buy second hand models for awhile yet but no new ones being made. The Holden Utes were the best, no other brand makes anything similar as it was really only Ford and Holden with that particular design.
Oh man, maybe I wouldn't say that but its kinda bad paint test (at least from such experienced builder like you). Really. Yes, you said you don't use the metallics, but why didn't you try to apply it properly (mist coating over gloss black, as well as chameleon one btw). Also other spoons look like you just hurry up to finish the test, lol. However, the paint at self looks nice and I like the range of paints, I glad Australian modelers get a good chance to have local supplier. My local paint market is kinda poor so I can imagine how to do your hobby things in condition of deficit. Also I mentioned all paints here are pre-thinned. For someone its good cause they don't have a headache about thinning ratios etc. But it's good only if your supplier is local. In aspect of international sales it basically means you buy an "air" (or I would say thinner in this case). I think it's important especially for some rare paints like chameleons or effect paints. People always search for that stuff and If you, for an instance, buy Australian paint with delievery to Europe, you needn't to pay for thinner if you can buy it locally. I would like to try some of these paints of course, but first need to figure out if delivery worth the extra money I'll pay.
I didn’t hurry to finish the test, I just edited the video. You don’t need to see me spraying for 5 minutes straight that’s just boring. And there will be more experimenting in the next WIP, including with the metallic paint. I wasn’t attempting to display the metallic and chameleon paints “properly” as if there’s one and only one proper way to use them. I was testing them for how I’m considering to use them. I think the conflation is coming from the fact that the tests were only partly a test of quality (as I wasn’t in doubt of that), but a test of how certain paints looked for the idea I have in mind~ because I haven’t used them before. Context.
It's not about video editing - of course we don't need to see you pouring the airbrush for 2 minutes. You're right, it's boring. I just tried to say it seemed to me you paint job wasn't an accurate (but maybe it's just my criticism, though). What's about the "proper" way, however, while I see lots of people use some products in a wrong way, which actually means they lose the advantages of the products - believe me or not, but results can be so different if you use "proper" way or not. I'm not trying to be a dick here (you have my 'thumbs up' anyway) but I just know, how to important somehow to find a right thing for your needs to get a great results.
All airbrushable paints in the range but the Premium range can be handbrushed on small details etc. Hand brushing lacquers on a large surface area is difficult at best.

Fuck yeah USAGundamStore is the best!

The Midnight Blue with the Cameleon Blue Purple was my initial preference before you did the test... proved to be right.
I've been using them as my main model paints for a while now. And I'll say I love them. They spray well very easy clean up and great finish. Highly recommended
Also recomend using the shiny stickers for putting behand clear parts. The sticky side of the sticker has an awsome rainbow mettalic effect.
😂

I cant wait to try them out!

I love that chameleon effect. I may have to pick some of these up.
Nice paints, but I'm probably going to stick with my combo of Vallejo Mecha colors, Alclad 2 and AK real colors for ease of accessibility sake.
Nice keep up the good work
Do you know where i can get good cheap model acrylic paints in SEA region? Most stores in my country are always out of stock.
I'm definitely going to try these I'm building a zaku army
Well we don't get any,Holden autos here anymore but we now have kick ass model paints from the same part of the planet.

Sweet bro!
Cool!
Looks interesting, but I am in europe and I already sold my soul to mr hobby and Ammo by Mig ^^
Check out other reviews of these paints, unlike in this review, they actually look like really nice paints, especially the colour shift and pearls.
Does anyone know how these paints handle and look when brush painted?
I’m gonna try that in the next WIP video
When will they be up on USAGundam? They won't answer any of my messages regarding anything so I'm close to dropping them.
i said in the video beginning of July...
At this stage, expect them around mid-July
so the consistency for each color is really thin? or some colors is somewhat thick?
Thin. As they are all pre-thinned
ZakuAurelius, do you recommend painting by section or painting by color? I feel if I paint by section the colors wont be consistent?
I will usually paint all one color at a time if I can

Oh yes! AUSTRALIA REPRESENT
Do they have any handbrush paints?
I looked on the website and it was all airbrush stuff.

That’s not sponsored or a commission, so yes it’s on hold
I'm Australian and I still won't buy this.
TheZeldafan57 why not? they're great. I've been using them for nearly a year now and only positive experiences so far.

I said that for ages, then I tried them, was a long time user of vallejo and they converted me instantly
I too would like to understand why you wouldn't buy this. What about them don't you like? Can I answer any questions you may have about them?
