Why do u say the water ones didn’t survive? I think they did quite well considering they had so many new roots as swell as a new shoot🤔

Its been two years since i have had 4 cymbidium orchids but they aren’t blooming, someone asked me to tie it in the tree and I’ve done that but still its not blooming could anyone help me?
Hi Albana, honestly I don't have too much experience in handling orchids but just try to make your orchid with sufficient light but not too much :)
I don't know if they are indoors or out. Is your orchid getting the temperature change needed between day and night? They need that night time drop of 10°. If they have dried out completely that will stop flowering. Are they indoors? Don't have a heater on through night. They need lots of light but not direct. If yellow leaves too much light. If dark green too little. Do you have area in yard you can put 50% shadecloth over? Or under a dappled shading tree. 1 don't drown. 2 don't overfeed 3 don't put in big pot. Water let it run through. No wet feet. Watering early let's it dry through day. Half strength fertiliser helps. Do you change to fresh orchid mix each year? Shake off old bark, replace. Just big enough pot. But don't crush.

Hi Rosemarie, in my experience, it won't as long as you carefully cut the roots. They will eventually grow new roots :)
