It really would be great to have Morris back on TV making comedy again. Much missed.
Get him to do whatever replaces “this morning”. That’ll be interesting! 🤣
The media bigwigs are frightened of the truths he tells.
Always said he'd be great as The Doctor in an R rated Dr Who.
Dream on! We live in the age of "woke culture". Serious business.
@@felixfox8810 Woke is an adjective derived from African-American Vernacular English (AAVE) meaning "alert to racial prejudice and discrimination". Morris isn't a racist, so what point are you trying to make?
Watching this from my deathbed after 3 years of seemingly inexhaustible malpractice and delays actually perked up my day a little. Thank you Chris.
God bless you.
I'm so sorry.
That's rough. Seems futile, but I wish you well. I hope your departure, when it comes, is dignified and painless. All the best, my friend. 😔
May God Bless you!!!
🙏🏼☦
I love you, man.. really!
Nailed it, of course he did. If things carry on the way they are, we’re all gonna end up quadraspazzed on a lifeglug.

I can honestly say that watching a keynote speech to the LMC Conference wasn't something I foresaw being a part of my day today, but I'm glad I did. Great to see Chris Morris in such fine form, and the thrust of his speech was certainly worthy. The Answer Prancer says Chris got this right.
Your ' day today'. Was that a pun?
@@happyapple4269 The phrase actually fell out naturally - but I thought "Well, that's appropriate" :)
Wrong that he was allowed to do this, when in the 90s he glorified the abuse of 'triple sod', 'yellow Bentines', 'Clarky cat', and, worst of all, 'cake'.
Fookin disgrace.
Directly responsible for many being triple jacked over a steeple hammer and ending up on the jessop jessop jessop
@@Robfnord well said. You paint an ugly picture. But we shouldn't shy away from the harsh realities of what this man wrought.
Remember, the scourge that he glorified affected the stable, educated and middle class, not just, say, builders and blacks.
But he'd put a stop to Shatner's Bassoon & Joss Ackland's spunky back pack !!!
It’s a fucking disgrace
Odd that he doesn't talk about Tony Blair and breaking the link between GP's and their practices as this undoubtedly opened the door to the American style healthcare 'service' sector in the uk and led in no small part to the absurd situation we now face.
Chris Morris speaks for everyone that knows what is really going on and actually gives a damn. If I am one of those people thank you Chris for speaking up for me.
No he doesn't.
That man with the white hair in the left of the frame was absolutely determined not to laugh or clap or smile 😂
noticable mooch.
He’s lost none of his sharp satirical wit, and he’s clearly someone who knows the value of our health ❤
No he clearly doesn't. The NHS is a corrupt wasteful juggernaut
It's great to see the man Morris still offering satirical commentary on current affairs!
He's an incredible public speaker. Great to hear him talk about such an important topic
Chris Morris. The reason I can’t take tv news seriously 🎉
The Day Today was probably more accurate than GB news.
@@rumourhats Obviously
In an interview Chris gave a while back, he said there was no point in doing any more comedic TV shows like he'd done in the past because events in the real world are now more bizarre than anything you could write as parody.
Most of his sketches came true
I think there’s still vital work to be done in that field- it’s just that the approach needs to be tweaked. What was notable about Sasha Baron-Cohen’s very Brass Eye-inspired show “Who Is America” from a few years back was that while Chris would ask conservative MPs to condone obviously made-up issues like Cake etc., Cohen could get Republican Senators to support and campaign FOR his insane and made-up schemes (guns for toddlers, etc). So that sort of satire still has a place and has more power than ever. In this video he proves he’s still got it and his voice is still vital. Hearing him talk now is like finding water in the desert. But Chris seems to suffer from the same creative paralysis that caused Andre 3000 to stop rapping and only to communicate via flute. I wish I knew what wand I have to wave to get them back in the saddle and to put their bloody flutes down, so to speak
Morris never misses.
Terrifyingly intelligent man.
Sharper than the tools around him 👌😌🫂
Brass Eye series was top notch
Our misfortune is that he's usually 20 years ahead of his time.
I totally agree! He certainly does hit his target, all the time, every time 😎
Do you class yourself as intelligent?Just out of interest. I have a friend who’s always getting told by people, “well, you’re obviously a very intelligent person…”
What I’m trying to figure out is, is that person, who’s saying my friend is extremely intelligent, are they themselves intelligent?
I mean as observational bystander, the person telling my friend they’re extremely intelligent, just seemed like a bit of moron.
I dunno, what do you think?
Ur a Tory.. u would enjoy a fish in a pond
Words cannot express the adoration I have for Chris Morris. A comedic genius and a true legend of a man.
sames
If only it was people like this running the health service
They can't get sponsorship from hedge funds who profit from destroying the UK, or the Russians. Tories get funded by both.
The problem is politicians not the NHS staff.
Love Chris Morris and happy to see and hear him on such great form. ❤️💙❤️
His psycopathic doctor skits from his 1998 Blue Jam radio show were a brilliant look into what our dystopic future had instore for us.
There was such a lot of stuff that they got on the nose...or were extraordinarily prescient about...in Blue Jam, Jam (TV) and Brass eye...I think both Chris Morris and Armando Iannucci have continued to be very spot on...especially about the nature of 'rolling news' and the consequences of the 24 hour cycle...but I also thought that whilst 'Jam' was very horrifically 'surreal' (I used to be sort of fascinated and haunted by it when I was a teenager...especially the 'fuss, fuss, fuss, fuss, fuss' mortuary 'welcome', and I would stay up late into the night to catch it on channel 4) I think, although low key and more 'implicit' than actually stated, a lot of what Jam and Blue Jam was doing was commentating on the fragmented, isolated, shattered and actually quite sociopathic nature of our economic system and society at large in an extremely absurdist way...now the absurd has become actual reality completely!
symtomless coma lol
This is incredible. I wish he was minister for health, he seems to have a better understanding of system pressures and solutions. Primary care and Public Health need a lot more funding and support.
feel free to share it and spread the message :)
It always needs more money. When will the money be sufficient?

There are very few people whose keynote speeches to, say, the LMC Conference, I'd be interested in watching. Chris Morris's is one. That was excellent.
Wish this guy would do more appearances...
Interesting. Morris' Dad used to be my GP. Doctors come up again and again in his work, especially in "Jam"!
It's something I always noticed as well. Some brilliant sketches
Jam was awesome, way ahead of its time
Yes his doctor sketches are some of the best, there's just something hilarious about hearing a doctor say absurd things in that calm and reassuring GP voice, haha. It's great to see he is still so interested in the profession.
Synchronised Cocks. There, I said it.
Swing your hips. Make it slap against your thighs.
😆
What was his dad like as a GP? I’m very interested to hear 😊
Chris was on Radio Bristol some years ago. He did quizzes and we had some great banter, and even rang me up one day and said 'Come on the show as no-one else has rung in!' We always had a great laugh. He sent me a badge with 'No known cure' on it. I sent it to Doc Cox who's an old friend, who wore it on 'That's life'.
I think Chris was chucked off Radio Bristol too. It proves how good he is.

I've always had the utmost respect for Chris Morris, thats just gone UP to a higher level!
Getting a serious point across with top notch humour takes some doing!!
Chris is wonderful at what he does. I miss his tv work. ❤
Yessssssss....Chris is back! I thought he got high off cake and hid in the Balearics illegally or was imprisoned for making the 2001 BRASS EYE special
much like the NHS Chris is an absolute institution, a national treasure. We really don't see or hear enough from him.
The NHS is NOT a national treasure, it is a bloated mess.
I thought he was dead!
Get Morris back on TV, someone give him free reign. Brass Eye has never been topped.
"disguised as a school" lives in my head rent free 🤣
Part of the state media's trick these days is to turn the tables and present news and current affairs in the absurdist satire style Morris pioneered. It's so blatant to anybody who pays attention to it, it's almost like watching The Day Today and the people who once would have been satirists back in the day have probably studied Morris's work and been recruited to work in today's mainstream news media.

If only people like this ACTUALLY had the power to change things. What a wonderful country we would be in.
But I thought Chris Morris was dead, I saw him jump out of a high window during an office meeting
He is, this is a dvd video he made in case of his death.......
ARE YOU SURE?!
Bravo Chris, you are a genius.....the man to his second right (Our left) should listen rather than pour his silent scorn upon his incredible intellect, his face said it all!
Probably a Tory.
@@ianucci Yes indeed!
One gets the feeling that Chris Morris could give a speech on practically anything and make it both factual, relevant, and of course extremely funny.
I’m so glad to see him again since he’s not in the public eye that often :) he’s such a genius
Chris, we haven't forgotten you buddy. Speak more please. I think you should do an interview with UK Column, it would be a great show of good minds.
So glad this was filmed 👏🏼 👏🏼
omg, give this man a TV series again PLEASE! 🙏🏻
already commented on Twitter re one of my heroes. Our local LMC rep fed back and yes- well and truly epic.
It’s not big. It’s huge 😂
Great stuff. Hit me right in my Shatner's bassoon
The word genius gets thrown around a lot; but it certainly applies to this man.
That was the last thing I expected to turn up on my RUclips front page: usually it's something like an American Bro reacting to hearing about Africa for the first time. But RUclips somehow pointed me to something brilliant this evening. People don't listen to Chris Morris enough. He knows stuff.
I’ll never forgive the nhs for my mothers mis-diagnosis for 18 months by her local GP, he ignored her symptoms, told her to do different, completely useless things, and when she and my father moved, her new GP sent her for biopsy…..by then she was stage 4 with lung cancer….her treatment was disorganised, with dept’s not communicating well together, and was sent home just over a week before her death for my 75 year old father to “ look after her “ , against her wishes ……totally incompetent….
Love Chris Morris, he's hilarious and very profound!
Great speech, though what we could see of the rest of the platform seemed a tough crowd.
Long day ahead of them
That's a great finish. Wish we saw more of Chris not to mention hear his thoughts on the modern body politic.
I wish Chris's dystopian GP feverdream would get commissioned for TV (not the NHS!), I would watch the hell out of that. Definitely someone who's underrated as a writer of surreal short stories, this reminds me of the Blue Jam monologues. Love his deadpan delivery, and great to see him giving a bunch of GPs bellylaughs!
I met Chris once off Oxford Street with my good mate Rob the Blob. We were looking to get into comedy and he was very nice and took time to answer our questions, We had a demo tape which we were far to scared to give him. Great days
Chris nailed it. We need a properly funded NHS, not some top whack quack shack.
No Hope Service
@@seanp8220What the Conservatives are turning it into sadly
Brilliantly observed as usual. Looks like the top table were a tough crowd!!!
The guy next to Chris was doing his best to stifle his laughter. The chap to his left was clearly not impressed, presumably wasn't fond of home truths.
The NHS is a mess, I remember clapping for them during covid, I will never clap again after what I've had to go through with them and being told to wait 5 hours for an ambulance.
Glenn Cullen there seems hard to impress.
Fucking hell! I'm not a joke! OK! I'm a man, a man, I am...a man!!
During the 'pandemic' my local Tescos remained open and fully staffed
Meanwhile, my local doctor surgery padlocked their doors shut and are still essentially in hiding
I don't think there will be any more pot banging for the NHS in the future
Same with mine! For some reason they never went back to the service they had before covid. It is still essentially impossible to get a face to face gp appointment, the opening hours are still limited with two half days a week, even telephone appointments are really sparse and difficult to get. So often if I call up I am offered a call back from a paramedic! Wtf does a paramedic know about a 25year chronic complex crohns disease case! I'll tell you... eff all!
Yep, that gp service has royally died on its arse, it just needs to be buried.
Bloody right cheers Chris for all your efforts on this and I'm also a massive fan of yours too.Lets hope that enough people hear what is a common-sense approach and we're able collectively to put enough pressure on them to achieve this! As you have said its what we ALL WANT,NEED AND DESERVE.
The deliciously creamy moist engorged thing about Mr Morris's speech, is the reactions of the two gentlemen on the platform immediately to his right.
Love it when such a great guy shows his face and makes everyone with visible birthmarks more confident in their appearance
Weird that the man second to Chris's right doesn't crack a smile throughout. What a fun guy he must be to spend time with.
Can't even see my Dr anymore, can't call for an appointment, can't go into to book an appointment, all I've got is a useless App that at best i get a response with a single message that they can't help or maybe it's on its way.
Completely broken.
Another lament that springs to mind is that you wouldn't get this kind of intelligent satire commissioned on mainstream TV anymore. Bring back the "The Day Today".
It's almost 30 years and the perfect climate for an anniversary comeback.
celebs will say anything for money these days though back then people were a bit more cautious mostly
My neighbor and friend suffered a catastrophic stroke overlast weekend. she lives alone, is epeleptic, and has already suffered a stroke leaving her with very limited mobility last year. she had been laying alone in her living room unable to move for atleast 24 hours. if my ma hadnt climbed thru her window, worried after my neighbour hadnt responded to my ma's txts, my neighbour would have certainly died there, alone on the floor. shes not likely to recover, according to the hospital, who rang my ma asking HER if it was worth operating, because she had no "quality of life". they rang my ma asking her to act as next of kin because this woman, whos only 45 btw, had no one else in the world. where were her carers? where was the concern for her as a disabled person from the health service? they dont want give her an operation which could potentially sort her out, because coupled with her epiliepsy and other physical ailments, is a deep depression and "personality disorder". they let her almost die and shamelessly shifted the responsibility of her care and well being and her fucking life onto my ma. things are bad. having been treated for almost a decade for my own mental health issues ive become so jaded seeing services disappear and the nhs fall apart. ive had alot of different gps,and i can only say there was one of the whole rotten bunch who listered to me. the others i canf. i cojld rant on this for ages but i'll leaveit there;: i pray to god that my friend and neighbour survives.

- illegal gag orders from the employer
- appointments with doc ect who have told me I AM RIGHT to whistleblow
- appointments with police that say I AM RIGHT to whistleblow
- 3 witnesses, police not spoke to any of them yet, refused to take details
- refused to take laptop which contains evidence of wrongdoing
- when asked if this is the same process that "systematically failed young people in Rotherham" Policeman rolled his eyes and chuckled
Yes really. Anyone has any suggestions please give me a shout.
Amazing stuff!
I am currently selling my house prepping to emigrate to Canada.
When I first told people I was planning to move abroad a common response was "what about the NHS?"
What NHS? I pay all this tax to be put on a waiting list, or to have a 5 minute phone conversation with an overworked GP, forget a face-to-face meeting unless you are elderly or an infant. Everyone in between is left to fend for themselves.
At this point I would rather pay insurance and be seen as a paying customer, instead of a resource drain that the NHS doesn't want to know.
