I'd say Savage Lion's Claw is more of a sidegrade than an upgrade. It does less stance damage than the regular, and takes long to get the damage out. It looks super cool and I'm still gonna use it in exploratory gameplay. It just won't be what I typically take out for a boss fight.
I believe it does more poise dmg and has higher stagger overall when compared to the original.

Yes you farm it and dont forget it scales better with fire ashes of War since it buffs it passively (Flame Skewer or Flame Spear for 95% more Fire Dmg).

It depends on your build u can make it harder or easier
Bloodfiend's arm is broken good, but if you don't want to run around with something that resembles a leg of ham, Occult Great Katana is a fantastic arcane weapon. It bleeds very quickly, with stance break values close to a GS, and if you slap blood tax or piercing fang AOW on it, you will have little trouble with bosses.
Not to mention the amazing moveset - charged R2 cancel into a quick horizontal slash, into an R1 lunge. Crouch poke into R1 poke, jump attack into an R1 poke...

I was using Rallana twinblades then I changed to Milady with wing stance and I’ve been doing insane damage. I tried it with frost and it’s amazing

Rellana and Milady take out those enemies that are quick and spam the hell out of their attacks, those reverse grip swords are pretty good too

A good tip that helped me a lot was stacking fire resistance. Pearldrake talisman +3, Flamedrake talisman +3, craftable fire resistance consumables and the best fire resistance gear for your weight. Should make the fight a lot more manageable.

@@benavery703 On controller you just press L2 again immediately after the lunge. So you just use the Ash of War ability twice immediately.

It's disgustingly wonderful! I've been using the Great Katana with the new Frost Ash of War. The standard Blood buildup plus the 125 Frost Buildup.
I wish I've found meteoric sword earlier. I got it only after Messmer, but all the remaining of this DLC I cleared with it. Magnificent sword.

@@joeguereca2165 Alexander's shard, erdtree's favor +2, axe talisman, dragoncrest greatshield talisman (I changed it for two-handed sword talisman later in the game because it's free damage), armor set of solitude

45 vigor (at the time when I found the sword, as the time went it rose up to 55)

70 strength
Everything else in arcane.
I didn't use any buffs because I didn't level up faith at all.
@@Sargatas 2H talisman does not work for weapon art, so if you just spam Weapon art then it is best to switch it for something else. If you use normal attack then stick with it.

So many cool weapons in this DLC! The kind of weapons that you want to center a build around.
They look fancy but unfortunately their damage is way too low.
@@georgeousthegorgeous I don't want a weapon because it's S+ tier, as long as it looks good and is decent, I'm fine with it. I usually center my characters around a theme, not around what's best in slot. I want my character to look and feel cool and if I do less dmg it just means that the fights will be a bit harder and last longer.
@@Frvnklin I struggle to survive and deal damage in fights which last more than 2 minutes so I have to resort to broken weapons. If I was better, I’d probably run around with Hand of Malenia or Relanna’s double swords but for now I stick with Blasphemous Blade and a kaleidoscope of bleed builds.
Quick note that the sword of lights skill also boosts all holy damge for a time and it lingers for a while
A poison build with the new AOW The Poison Flower Blooms Twice just melts enemies. The AOW does so much damage when an enemy is poisoned and it looks cool too
@@RootYourAndroid Yuuuup, I confirm, the burst damage when you proc poison OR rot is amazing. Also you evade most low attacks during the animation
Also Milady is a hidden gem with its default Ash of War. It has very high Poise damage and you can poisebreak almost every boss with 2-3x Ash of War Attacks (L2).

I used the blood fiends arm against the final boss because I was struggling way too hard on it and it finally provided me the means to beat that bastard. It’s a really good weapon + that bleed buildup is nasty

@@Steiven.you have to get to the abyssal Forrest. it’s a bit much to explain so if you want to get there I would just look it up. Once you make it there though you will have a main path you take which will lead you to a church eventually in the left hand corner from where you entered it will be on a corpse
I blew straight through bayle with the lightning bottle too, they’re strong especially with rolling sparks

Ever since i dropped it I fell in love with Milady too much, its so smooth and its block counters are crazy good. Made it keen and playing on 80 dex it slaps. Works very well with cragblade ash of war if you dont wanna use wing stance.
Sword of Darkness weapon art also applies a debuff to enemies making them take more holy damage.
I've been using the Great Katana with the new Frost Ash of War... disgustingly good! 125 Frost Buildup + the normal Blood buildup..

How do you change the scaling on a weapon? Is it just when you change a weapon to bleeding, frost, etc?
Yes, affinities change scaling. Just look at the scaling letters as you cycle through the different affinities.
Blinkbolt twin axes are insane with the right buffs because the first part of the ash of war has invincible frames
I used all the news katana i like them alot but i will try some other build u mentioned here.
there is a spot at the back where you can just torrent over the wall. ppl often leave messages there if you cbf going through the furnace golem
There are times where I want to play without a guide of finding weapons and looking for stuff on my own but man, I would have never gotten the sword of light that way. an invisible beam is something i would completely overlook.

Currently running dragon hunter katana and the RAKSHASA’S great katana and the poise damage is nuts I was stuck on relanna for so long then took 2 attempts with the new build
I've actually enjoyed using the Putrescence Cleaver. Good damage and the first attack of the skill closes the distance and decent stagger ability.

With plus 25 blood arm and royal knights resolve at most I get to 148. Or is that because of 70 arcane.

Blood-infused bloodfiend arm is also an instant bleed proc with uncharged heavy in PVP and uh it has some pretty fast acting hyperarmor 🤨

There’s no talisman which buffs blasphemous blade. Dual wielding one only works on heavy and normal attacks, not an ash of war.
@@georgeousthegorgeouswhy go and spread misinformation? The new talisman is called “Talisman of the Dread” and it raises potency of magma, the ash of war for blasphemous blade is considered magma, I took 30 seconds and tested it and the damage was higher with the talisman equipped by a good margin

You can get the light and the dark sword in one playthrough if you first get a sword from an altar (before having one in the inventory), convert it with another altar and after that you get the sword from the catacombs.
Just to add if you wanna skip making the furnace pot and risk having the furnace golem attack you at the ruins of Unte you can horse just up the pillers and through the broken back wall where t

I was under the impression you can only collect one - as soon as you’ve picked up 1 from an altar, the other altars change and will not spawn another sword.
The sword of light also raises your holy attack for a good period of time

So many cool weapons, unfortunately only the first one works for me because I’m on NG+3 and sometimes even weapons like bandit’s curved sword or blasphemous blade aren’t enough. It’s a shame the gear in this dlc looks cool but hits so weak.

Carian thrusting shield is the final evolution of shield poke build - zero risk and can tank just about anything
Used bloodfiends arm to defeat raddan 👌 no knights resolve needed just use mimic and right talismans you’ll be good
You didn't mention an easier path in rhaun for the sword of light. There's a spirit spring that will get u to the alter faster and without having to fight than just riding to it and also will give u a new talisman
If you obtain a sword from an altar first (prior to having one in your possession), exchange it for another altar, and then obtain the sword from the catacombs, you can obtain both the light and the dark sword in a single playing.
Using the new AOW, a toxic construct The Toxic Flower Opens Enemies are melted twice. When an enemy is poisoned, the AOW looks awesome and deals a ton of damage.

sword of light buffs holy damage sword of dark lowers enemys defense to holy combine the two and you can do massive damge
The most OP weapon is the SMITHSCRIPT SHIELD.
It stunlock almost any non boss ennemy at range for 3 FP, you can spam it at incredible speed and it deal a lot a damage.
It's more effective and FP efficient that any spell in the game.
